Actually
It'd probably be best if we got some clearer explanation of characters by players in this thread.
Because from what I'm seeing, there seems to be 2 meatshields, 2 spontaneous "casters" and whatever Philo is playing.
That's zero sneaky types, zero divine.
I did mean it when I said you'd want a well rounded party.

I Can Adapt.
Out of the five of us, I've yet to firmly cement a role. I can make a sneaky little rogue/fighter/invisible hand/master thrower. If we need some sneaking. I could also get my divinity on! However, I can't thoroughly do both. So from what I saw we may be missing one or the other. Somebody else may have to step into it.

In chat last night, an idea was put forth and kicked around some.
Details are varied and variable, but it boils down to our immediate past being, "We accidntally killsed somehting big and now we're heroes." And everything that would follow after that.
Thoughts?

Personally I like it. Hill Giants were the enemy we kicked around last night, but honestly it doesn't matter. Anything big and corporeal that could terrorize a town would work fine. I'm also a fan of the "drunk while we did it" kind of heroism here so we don't have to explain what we did.

Spinning a tale.
I'd leave the particulars up to me, if I'm going the route of the beguiler. I'll spin a tale so wretched and rife with inaccuracies that our paladin may have to atone just for the witness of such heinous accounts!

Characters
So far we have:
-Moonlit Elf sorceress / wild soul
-Half-elf horseless, spelless paladin
-Human? swashbucker / psychic warrior
-Undecided beguiler (maybe, might still go rogue/fighter/invisible hand/master thrower... but leaning heavy on beguiler atm.)
-and a starting over from scratch (favored soul by my last recall)

Characters
That's starting to look pretty balanced to me. We've got a lot of bases covered.
Philosopher, do you think with the Beguiler and Sorceress/Wild Soul we cancel one another out? We're both charmers/illusionists. I'd prefer the sorceress route, but I can switch over to a wizard for a little more spell variety if need be. Maybe a specialist illusionist? or enchantress?
I like the oops we killed someone idea. Killed someone while drunk indeed, there's all sorts of trouble we can muster up with that. We could still fit in some sort of other group dynamic with that idea too. I'm into the idea of a circus or caravan of sorts.
A lot of these group ideas are... less than noble shall we say. Our poor paladin might have a hard time explaining himself there. So here's a thought, you've got a half elven paladin, Jozan. Wanna be my kid? The noble knight with the trickster mother is kind of hilarious to me.

Wild soul vs. Beguiler.
Mm. I've never looked into the wild soul until about five minutes ago. It does seem to be a redundancy on my end. On the flip side, you still get sorcerer spells, so if you are to be our designate spell chucker, it may be wise to broaden your spell list a bit, and rely on your spontaneous enchantments to be the niche in your character. Otherwise I'd suggest a more upfront character.
Ultimately I will leave the choice up to you. If you have a great love for this character, I can easily step into a less redundant role.

Cats are sneaky. I can be a cat.
I can be that backup curious cat that shows up during curious moments within the odd-dom. Maybe she'll help. Maybe she'll watch. Wait, amendment, she'll always watch. She's a cat.
No, this is not an attempt at encroaching any local cat territory
PS. She may or may not also have damage reduction, so she is not scared of brooms.

Wild Soul / Beguiler
She's starting to come together a bit more, and I am falling in love. My intentions are to be heavy on the illusions and charms with a few divinations, combats, and transmutations thrown in the mix.
The sorcerer concept makes the most sense for this character, but the spell list is pretty limited, so I can change to a wizard to a little more diversity if need be. Again that would be a specialist of some sorts.
What do you think?
