Like he said...

We work together and discuss stuff in Q&A. But that is player knowledge, not character knowledge. We then have to comunicate in character in post to make it game knowledge.  We'll guide on this. Say we come to a large lake and need to go around it we can discuss it in Q&A to pick what the party should do. Then in game someone suggests the option and why it is good and the party then agrees and it is so.  This doesn't mean you can't act on your own, it just allows others to toss in their two cents if they feel strongly about an option. But remember if we don't say something in character then the other party members don't know it.

BTW I just tried to send Chessicfayth a link to my dropbox so he can access some game handbooks.
If he lets me know it worked I can them share with any of you, I just need your email.

@Dragon-soul

Please don't let the character sheet or the game itself scare you like Ody and Keeper have said i do pretty much all the hard stuff so all you need to do is RP and enjoy.

However if you feel "Arandor" Aldavather son of Talcanaiion Aldavather once known to the party as Talca is too much to play its ok we can just create a not so complecated character. Just let me know.

Thanks, Nimu, but Ody got there first. I may try and bounce some ideas off of you. You were awesome when we were getting FF together.

Glad to have you on board.  Just so you know there is no safely in Tril and characters die on a regular basis.  But we have an excellent health plan that includes raising from the dead with no co-pays.

Character Snapshots

Hey, can all the players already in the game give a one or two paragraph snapshot of their character? What do they look like? What's their personality like? What are their strengths in combat and outside of combat?

If the new players already have an idea in mind for their characters, I'd be interested in hearing what you are hoping to bring to the virtual table too.

Peace,

Ayrn

@Ayrn

Um... my character, Arandor, is a ready-made character so... I guess just read the form Tann made?

Actually, he's Talca's son so I'm going to change his looks and personality:

Looks: long white-blonde hair that falls to just past his elbows when not tied back, but is almost always tied back in a band of elven silk (yes, I've made that up. Sorry if it's not a thing, I'll change it if it's not). Mythril armour (yup, Lord of the Rings reference there. Again, sorry if it's not a thing in Trilogy and again I'll change it if it isn't) covered in a green leather outer armour. Sapphire blue eyes. Scar running down the right side of his neck from fighting a rabid bear. 6'2'' tall. Eyes are slanted and cat-like in shape (yes, typical elf style), no need to mention the pointy ears lol. Wears a bracelet which is elven silver and crafted to resemble a band of intertwining leaves to express his love of nature. Wears bearskin gloves which he made from the rabid black bear he had killed that scarred his neck. Despite wearing gloves, he still wears rings: one of them is made of the same silver as his bracelet and is a leaf with an emerald embedded in the centre, another is again elven silver and has a diamond with an elven glyph carved into its face, the final ring is the exception for it is gold and has a ruby with a dragon coiled around it. The meaning of his rings are a mystery to anyone but him...
He wears a green leather belt embroidered with silver thread depicting leaves and elven glyphs, the buckle elven silver and forged into a wolf's head. His leather armour that he wears over his mythril is also embroidered with silver thread and shows a dragon, wings flared and rearing.

Personality: Arandor can seem rather introverted due to the fact that he prefers the company of animals and plants as opposed to humans and even, to some extent, other elves. He is polite, well spoken and helpful, however, so you can approach him if you have a problem. He is very mysterious, only revealing his past to those he truly trusts and because, as has been said, he is introverted, he hardly trusts anyone deeply so therefore his past has only been uttered to very few-elves and humans alike. His heart is just and true, always striving to assist other good hearted creatures as best he can and defend nature and all its creatures with all the power he possesses. He has a great empathy towards both plants and animals and as such is well attuned to their habbits and actions. He is also very well versed in flora and can detect at a mere glance what can heal and what can harm. He is also an excellent cook which is handy for long hours on the road. Despite his introverted personality, however, when angered and provoked he can turn into a blood rage that gives his mind but one purpose: to vanquish his enemies no matter the hurt to himself. While this single-mindded determination has served him well on some occasions, it can also endanger him for he can turn rather reckless and can abandon defence when it is needed.

Ayrn, for starters there is a brief discription of each character at the end of their character sheets on the Trilogy Characters Page.
But it wouldn't be a bad idea for us to reflect a bit and add some more.

I'll flesh out Ulthok a bit as I see him and play him.

Lothor Greenbeard

For an image of Lothor and general stuff look at the Trilogy character thread.

I did not create Lothor but took him over from someone else a number of years ago, I really don't know how long.  Quite awhile now, I guess.  Lothor looks like your basic warrior - a big guy with a two-handed sword and very shiny armor.  The original player ran him as someone who didn't like or feared magic.  I don't.  He has been around too many mages for too long and used too many many magical items to worry about magic much anymore.  It isn't his favorite thing, but he is ok with it, at least in the hands of his friends.

Yes, he is a meat-shield.  His role in the party is to be the big strong guy who keeps the spell casters alive and he knows this.  He also knows that those same spell casters are very smart - smarter then he is in a general way, for example.  (Characters don't know ability scores, I assume) He is thus frequently willing to follow their lead.  He trusts the members of the group.  They have led wisely for some time now.  But don't think that Lothor will follow blindly.  He has plenty of self-confidence.  He may have grown up as a farm boy with dreams of a sword, but he now sees himself as a general.  His natural place is in command of a unit (even an army) and he knows what he is doing.  He understands tactics, combat and what staying alive is all about.  He is no idiot and won't be treated as one.  (Nobody in the party does so.)  He will follow wise leaders, but will speak up if he feels it is warranted.  In addition, he sees himself as the tactician in the group.  While others plot big ideas, he is the one that is always looking at the position they find themselves in at the moment.  If there is a giant, blinking, flaming, salamandar (No reason I chose that example, no reason at all)  that might flash out and surprise the group at any time, Lothor is going to see to it that the danger is not forgotten. Lothor has earned his place in this amazing group of individuals.  He respects them a great deal and owes his life to them just as they owe theirs to him.

I hope that helps.

Characters and idears

chessic, feel free to throw ideas at me

There is a characters thread so you all can see what the party is like.

As for Siréne, she all magic and mystery. The character was based on the Faerie Queen in the Mists of Avalon, with some twists. She is a priestess, enchantress, witch. While she is fully loyal to the party, her allegiances are also with faerie and the old religion. As a mage/druid, she fills the role of spell thrower and diviner when needed.

I will post something more fleshed our later, but hope that helps for now.

Yep! That right there is totally what I was looking for. Thanks, Nomad. Yours too, Dragon-Soul. (Edit... and yours as well, Nimu)

Thanks for the link to the Character Board too. I'm mostly just looking to hear from you all, "Here's a brief description of my character right now and how I typically play her or him." Totally Meta OOC stuff with the complete understanding that our characters aren't static.

If you're able... totally fine if you aren't interested or able as well.
