As an aside...
I'm not sure if any of you are aware of this but FR is being re-jigged a lot for 4th ed. If any of you are interested in learning more I can post up a link to an FR community forum (where many FR novelists etc post).

Looking forward to it
Great .. looking forward to a great game too. I have uploaded my new 4th level character sheet to www.devalero.wetpaint.com I'm sure there are a few things I may have overlooked so look over it and let me know what needs to be fixed. Also .. am i allowed to be older to go in te next age bracket? I wanted to be 42 but it will kick in some stat adjustments .. which i really wouldn't mind much .. but thats up to you.

Slight error I think
I just looked at it briefly Dev, but I think you've made a slight error with your stats. An intelligence of 19 gives a +4 mod. not +5, and a charisma of 17 gives +3 and not +4.

thanks
yep .. thanks .. i am modifying a higher level character back down to 4th so i think that is where that error came from ... but shhhh .. maybe Kaelyn won't notice
Notice anything else .. I'd like to make all the changes we can find before re-submitting it .. cause it's kind of a pain to do from work

4th Ed. FR ?
I think I'll pass. I have been buying less and less of the supplements with each new edition because the writers seem to be moving away from the "old guard" style of gaming that helped to make it what it is now. Such is the way of many things -- progress, dontcha know? While some of the changes made seem to be pretty cool, the majority of them are specifically geared for the younger crowd, and are not my cuppa tea (as I sit in my rocker, sipping, cane on one side and oxygen on the other, smiling and nodding, with the cat curled up on my lap, etc ...)

Well if I knew that a bugbear would of been this bad, I'll just change it. From Kaelyns opening post I had the image that some stuff was allowed that bordered the line on good/evil, but its no biggie to me, I'll just change it. I definetly will want to play some sub race of one of the main ones, maybe a wood elf or...some kind of gnome. I'm not sure. I do not have my MM's with me at the moment. But dont worry about any goblinoids, there gone now.

now that's an interesting one ...
a gnome with a chip on his or her shoulder as big as a battleship?
one with the attitude of a bugbear?
I could see possibilities in that one ...

I didn't smite anyone .. never have
I see that now though .. i just read it under my post and assumed. We know what happens when we assume though.
Apparently I don't read so well .. I should probably smite myself for that.

As stated:
I apologize to all in this thread and especially those involved in the game. My resignation post was not written to influence the decision of either the players or the DM, but to state my preference, and the reason for it. I waited to determine the DMs ruling before posting, and then only at the request posted to speak/post freely.
If the DM (and/or the players) will still allow me into the game, I look forward to it, and my intro post follows. If popular consensus is not to allow the "boat-rocker", I wish you all well.

Intro to Linnix
Linnix was happy. For now, anyway. Ever since she left Daar el Azim in Calimshan, she has been traveling hard and fast. She took only the time necessary to nap fitfully and quickly, then began moving again as soon as possible. Now that she's in Darromar, she would try to relax a bit and keep a low profile. She had enough stashed in her cart to keep her going for a little while. Meanwhile, she would "disappear into the local woodwork", visiting the local taverns to learn what she could of the efficiency of the local constabulary amd customs. No more would she hurry the gathering of information. Her security and well-being was determined by the accuracy of her assessments of potential targets, whether a business or an idividual.
She chided herself for the thousandth time for not checking the local laws in the last Calimshan city she was in. She knew how to identify and avoid targets under the protection of a guild of "shadow operators", which she had never felt a need to join. But she had not counted on the "welcome" she had encountered while attempting to relieve a shop in Daar el Azim of it's cashbox. She had failed to see a mark of protection on the storefront, so she figured it was safe to enter it (after hours, of course) to obtain some ' working capital ' before she moved on. Not only was the shop protected, but the local representatives of the thieve's guild providing the protection happened to be nearby and were adamantly vociferous and violent in their execution of their protective "duty".
She snorted in disgust at her choice of description. Had she not escaped them, she would probably have been executed on the spot. That's the impression she got as she was being chased on the road out of Daar el Azim, angry and empty-handed, flaying herself mentally as much as she was goading her mount for more speed. Fortunate for her that Daar el Azim was north of Myratma. On her southern journey along the Coast Road to Calimshan she had seen no garrison north of the city to pin her between its forces and forces from the south before she could get to Tethyr.
Her pursuers were often so close she could hear them shouting back and forth what they would do to her if they could just lay their hands on her. It was only the last-ditch effort of suddenly riding off the road at a sharp angle when she rounded a bend, riding into a stand of tall vegetation to stop and stay silent as long as she could until her would-be captors ran by her at full-tilt. She then back-tracked a few miles and rode off the road again and cold-camp at a spot out of sight of the well-traveled road. After a full day of not seeing the chasing riders again, she regained the main road to strike east to go as far away from Myratma's reach and retribution as possible.
She had stopped once to sell her mount (and friend and companion) Shaddoe, reluctantly but knowing she would endanger the life of her mount and herself since she was last seen riding the big black mare after a failed robbery. She purchased a small, two-wheeled cart and a large bay gelding to pull it, and loaded her gear into it. The big gelding, which she has named Tock, has proven to be even-tempered, strong, and reliable. Not long after buying the cart, she made a stop, camped, and during the evening hastily cut her long, dishwater-blonde tresses unevenly and at shoulder length so that she could stuff the hair up under a hat quickly if necessary. She has also resorted to using her disguise kit more often to change her appearance and "muddle" her trail ...

Don't be silly
Personally I like rocking boats, and I don't think anyone bears a grudge against you.
In fact I for one am really looking forward to playing with you!
On another note, apparently Eilistraeen drow aren't as rare as people may think. I just read a lengthy treatise by Ed Greenwood (the creator of FR) on Eilistraee and he stated that 10-12% of all drow on Faerun worshipped the Dark Maiden. That is a lot more than I thought! My guess would be though that the majority of those are folk who worship her in secret while 'towing the party line' in cities such as Menzoberranzen.

alright!
So, we have...
Ginifae: Drow cleric
Devalero: human warmage
Zonk, human rogue
Jozan (when I get a character sheet)
Brianna. elven ranger
That leaves one more space for a character to join this varied and intrepid group.
Gonna work on opening post today, may put it up early to allow for some initial contact / conversation.
