You're typically looking at 3-8 rounds for paralysis to wear off.
A dozen, two dozen, whatevs. Y'all managed this in the inn before! Of course, you were able to set up chokepoints there, not just get surrounded...

Kazari do NOT retreat...
...but they have been known to fall back on occassion... Like to a spot where there's a river and a fire and stuffandjunkandthangs!

Ha!
Something like that, yes!
Just spitballing some thoughts, here, I had considered something along the lines of this:
Round 1
- Cedric does a bit of healing on Kith (or mayhaps a Turn Undead in the first round)
- Not sure what spells Midge has available but maybe something to slow or scatter the horde (I don't think swarm will work, btw)
- Aranwen, Gib, and Ch'dau form a skirmish line between the horde and Kith, Midge, Cedric. They may not "advance" but they'll take on all comers as needed.
Round 2
- Cedric and Midge begin retreating toward the camp, taking Kith along (assuming she's nowhere near ready to be on her feet, yet... (more healing and/or another spell if retreat isn't possible/advisable at this point)
- The fighters stand their ground giving the other three a slight "headstart" (though not so much that one of the three can't assist Kith and company if need be)
Round 3
- More falling back for Kith, Cedric, and Midge?
- A step back but still fighting defensively for Gib, Ch'dau, and Aranwen?
Lather, Rinse, Repeat until we get nearer to the camp, at which point, we reasses and, possibly make good tactical use of the fire, river, and bloodlust?
As I said, just thoughts from my end, here... Honestly, given what's just happened to Kith, Ch'dau would likely be more than happy to go full on BEASTMODE and munch on anything that got too close but, you know, stratojiving and such... *shrugs*
P.S. Someone make sure to hitch up Kithran's britches before you go dragging her through the mud, eh?

You've two clerics here. If both take attempts at turning the undead we may be able to stave off the bulk of the onslaught and give time for the warriors to whittle down the shambler's numbers a bit. If I remember correctly, Clerics have a certain number of turn undead attempts available to them per day. I believe that both Cedric and Gib are fully rested as far as available turn attempts are concerned.
Depending on the roll, Gib could potentially turn up to 6HD of them away at a time vs cutting down one (of course, there's always the chance of just getting one). Cedric is likely the same (not trying to rules lawyer or power play). If Kith weren't hurt we could likely outrun them and get far enough away to find a defendable position in the natural landscape. Gib is also concerned about Kith's condition and the screaming heard in the first place. Is there another victim?
I was going to post but since we're having a discussion, I'll wait.

And this...
...is exactly why I started the strategery discussion!
From what I understand, there is another victim (the body lying in the clearing) but I'd wager he/she/it is pretty much dead or beyond saving.
I like the idea of both clerics attempting turn undead, of course... the more of the horde we can render ineffectual the better, imo... at least until Kith is mobile (and healed up), again... That could potentially put us in a better position to beat feet back to the camp (if we bother with that at all, though I kind of have a feeling that might be our best bet, right now). Exploring that possibility further, that would also free up a fighter to carry Kith and (possibly) provide protectiong from the "rear" should we start to get flanked. Ch'dau would gladly shoulder the burden of Kith's weight (and might likely be the best candidate strength-wise).
Olan - as Midge is currently an NPC, do you get absolute control of what the little mage does or might we have an idea as to what spells he might have available and give some direction as to his actions?

Tadaa!
"It is I, LeClerc!"
No, sorry. Wrong show.
So, the Inn's resident Finn has returned! Thank you, thank you for your kind words and applause. Please do sit down now, thanks very much.
It really has been a while since my last in-game post and I'm looking forward to joining you old geezers and some of you less old ones too in Olan's game. I will indeed be taking over Cedric and you'll probably notice some kind of change in the character, but hopingly not too much. A Lawful Good cleric of the Blazing Star would not have been my first... or third choice for a character, but out of the two options available, Cedric seemed like a more... let's say challenging one.
Cedric to me seems like a humble, honest, kind, dull, devout, down to earth, dull, helpful, dull youngish man. Did I already mention he's a bit dull? In more than one ways actually, but that's the challenge. I'll try to make him seem less so. And I am ofc kidding here. There are so many interesting sides to him. Cedric is a really colorful person, just like his robe... A cheap, worn, yellow robe. So... imaginary, don't you think?
All kidding aside, I've done backreading the story and the Q&A. I have the sheet. As soon as dear Olan sends me his answers to my questions, I'm ready to fly!
"One final admonition - this is a horror flavored game and I am an evil DM. I will be very surprised if every character survives this adventure. That is no fault of anyone here, it's just reality." - t_catt11

Sent Raven his answers... @ quoting me again on my evil threats.
Speaking of answers... ladies and gentlemen, we will finally have one in game answer for a question you've all known for some time, now. Raven asked for a knowledge check on an area his character has special training in, and I ruled that the experiences of the adventure allowed for a new check to be made... which he actually passed.
Woo!

There it is!
So, my post is up!
Couldn't wait till tomorrow, so I quickly had to put something together. I'm too hyped to sleep before posting! But it's been a while, so bear with me. The quality should improve some day. I hope.

Two things.
1) Man, it is ever good to have Raven back and posting!
2) Holy cow, it is ever good to see Cedric as an actual character!
Great stuff.
