No update, but just a quick "They're not spiders".

damn

And here I was, all excited to see Spores up on the latest update forum topics list. I will watch myself closer from now, but they will always be spiders in my heart.

Don't worry I'm only kidding, I like to think I have a better imagination than that.

...

I hate to bug our esteemed DM and I don't mean to pull an "are we there yet" type gig but I just had to give this thread a little nudge and you can't take it as anything but a compliment Al! Its been two weeks since there's been a post in the game, so I was just wondering if its still going and you are facing some personal difficulties finding the time to get an update - if so I completely understand and take all the time you need: no worries! I just wanted to bump this thread to say I was thoroughly enjoying the game and hope that it has not fizzled just as we cross the brink of page 1. If its because I said spiders, I promise I will never mention the pesky things as arachnids again, scouts honour.

Anyways, I hope I get to continue gaming with y'all, I enjoyed what I did and hope all is well with you Almerin.

hehe

Involved players are never pesky. I should've informed you all about the delay.

The reason there is no update yet is that:

1) I've been really busy this weekend
2) I wanted to wait for the new player which should be able to join us somewhere this week, hopefully.

Concerning #2: MMV will join us somewhere in the near future, and take over the emptiness we have endured since Loki departed this game.

How's that for sentimental.

Update will follow swiftly. Without introduction of new charry if need be.

yes!

Well I'm very glad to hear the game's still alive! No worries on a busy weekend the next couple weeks are very busy for me so I can't blame you one bit. I must also add a very warm welcome to MMV, our newest player. Its great to have you as one of the game and I'm looking forward to meeting you in the thread!

And yep, a little sentimentality never hurt anyone so long as we can kill those big baddies in the meantime. Looking forward to the update Almerin!

There!

Welcome to the game, MMV!

Been checking MMV's character sheet. It's updated and mostly ready now. In any way, she's ready to start posting, so I'll wait for that before I update. Trust me, that will be in your advantage.

Otherwise, my fingers are itching to start an update!

Now its all eyes on you Almerin!!

EDIT: 2 things

1. There are three 'New's in the latest update forum topics in a row right now!

2. I just remembered that Usso was supposed to be playing as well... which means that these baddies were planned for a party of five... Thank God we have MMV!!! *Runs over and gives a bear hug.

Yes, indeed

Well spotted, Dragonblood. It was supposed to be a party of five. Hence the two guards who are helping. They're NOT as high level as you guys, but they'll help out for sure!

Update is in, as promised. Hopefully you'll all be able to work with it.

man oh man!

Nice update Al! As per usual I really enjoyed reading it and can barely convince myself that an early morning means I'm supposed to sleep instead of hammer out an update.

I am really busy both up here on the site (owing either a post or an entire character background in four separate threads!) and in real life, what with school work, &c... coming up, so I'll try to get one out I just want to be able to put the time into something that deserves to be next to your update!

Deucalion, what do you think of flanking one, I know it kinda leaves us open but if we watch our backs, we may be able to hammer through the buggers faster. I'm not trying to pull table talk, but I was gonna write it into my post anyway so I figured, because it may take a couple days for me to get it up, i could run it by you before you post. Anyways whatever works. I just hope I don't die two pages in.

Awesome update Almerin, can't wait to forge me post! Err... wait did I say that already??

-Dragonblood

ps. Is that supposed to be they're NOT as high level as you guys? Just couldn't tell based on the grammar.

Flanking: Got it Covered

I flank everything... some of the time.
--Distracting Attack(Ex)--
Whenever you hit an enemy with a weapon attack (whether melee or ranged), that enemy is considered flanked by you for the purpose of adjudicating your allies' attacks. For example, if your rogue ally attacked that enemy, not only would she gain a +2 bonus on her melee attack roll but she could also add her sneak attack damage to a successful melee attack.

This flanked condition lasts until either the enemy is attacked by one of your allies or until the start of your next turn, whichever comes first. This is an extraordinary ability.

This ability has no effect on creatures that can't be flanked.

It's not really as helpful as being there for you to sneak attack your full BAB, but I'm not really for standing toe-to-toe and provoking with every shot. 'Course with how enclosed this fight is, I think I'll be provoking a lot anyway so I'll try to rotate around these things and set that up for you.

Yep

Yep, I meant NOT as high level as you guys. In fact, that's what it said ever since I edited my previous Q/A post a few seconds ago.

Flanking: With a five foot step from both of you, you should all be able to flank these things. Combat is close enough. I should be able to give you guys a grid if you prefer, but it will be on Monday. Otherwise, I'm quite sure we can picture the fight and with me explaining that flanking should be possible in the next round after Bohen's init.

Just curious

Out of curisosity, Are these guys younge or old? In the book I have, Younge Ankhegs have and Ac of 2 and the underside Ac of 6. Older Ankhegs have an Ac of 2 and the underside Ac of 4.

I just wanted to know because it will affect our chance of hitting them.

couple things

As far as flanking goes. I don't totally get it all but I'll reread the posts when I have more time and I'll go over the combat chapter in the PHB.

For the age of the Ankhegs, not that I care that much, but, unless our characters can tell, perhaps it makes more sense for us as the players not to know either? Its up to Almerin in the end and I don't mind either way, just the way I'm used to playing.
