The Last Supper.
Well the of milk, butter and eggs and smoked ham wrapped in brown paper will go bad pretty quickly if not kept cold , so we'd be better off drinking the milk and having the ham before we leave. The butter and eggs would just be wasted. Too bad we didn't find any Scotch, that goes well with milk.(lol)
Everyone should be reminded to refill their canteens too. I am assuming there is a well or pump handy.
We now know that the road is fairly well traveled, moving at night will allows us to get out of sight quickly. It is probably our quickest route to the castle. We just need to move away from the road during the day.
Did any of us notice the trucks returning? As if they had gone to another farm for supplies.

The ham is smoked so it is perserved - it will last awhile.
Yes there is running water. No one will die of thirst.
The only traffic seen is the one I posted. The trucks have not come back, the black car did not return, the batmobile did not time travel through and the busload of wildly drunk german nurses did not break down outside the farm.

Computer Trouble
Ok just a heads up last night I got hit with a Rogue Security Program Virus and my normal computer is now infected. As such I'm using my Mom's old Compaq and having a hard time getting anything done with it as its slow and refuses to cooperate so I may be unable to post until I get my normal one back.
Hopefully it will be soon as it took me 20 minutes to get to the Inn this am.

"RAID"
Bummer, I have found that on my computers Malwarebytes got rid of those type of virus. I loaded it to a flash drive and then run it from there. I've since kept it as one of my regular anti-virus programs. sometimes those virus keep your loaded program from running correctly and using the flash drive gets around that block.
Also for Dell the system restore to a previous dates work well too.
Best of luck, Sarg.
And I download them free from Filehippo.com

Some more thoughts....
Ok, back to the story. Was man in the car in uniform or a civilian? If in uniform could Doc tell if it was regular or the darker SS? Doesn't make a lot of difference on the uniform, but could just thicken the plot if it were SS, adds a greater sense of Evil. (Storm Trooper)
Is Eol building a new character or taking over dreen's?
I haven't written any interaction with the sniper yet and was just wondering.
I'm sort of waiting on Tann to post so I know if we are following the road or just skirting it to stay out of sight and how the stuff was divide.
Cutting up the ham and dividing it would work. Then we'd all smell the same. Are there bears in these woods?

questions and answres
The man in the car was blond and wearing driving goggles. You didn't get introduced nor did you see a ranking ensigna. He drove by at 60 km/hours on a dirt road and you were more interested in the girl (go ahead - deny it)
Robert is taking over McGuiness. Too hard to slip in a new member behind enemy line. (Hi! I'm Bob, a corporal from the 187th just wandering through....)
You don't have to wait on the command. You can comment on your watch if you saw something, talk about what your character is thinking about (the girl back home, your mom, baseball, etc). You can get up, get gear ready and prepare withour the Sarge telling up too.
All the bears were killed and eaten by the dragons and manticore in the forest so don't worry about bears.

Who is he?
I guess I created a name game issue with my character and my writing, sorry. I've seen both Doc and Stewart used in the same sentence. His last name is Reid, same as the Lone Ranger and before being dubbed with the title "Doc" he went by Jack instead of John.
Cpl. John (Jack) Stewart Reid,(A.K.A. Doc)
So how did I get it so complicated? This is loosely based on my father (John) who was a medic in WWll in the Pacific. My mothers brother was also John but called Jack. My mothers family is traced back to the Stewart's of Ireland. Reid is a good Irish name and it was the family name of the Lone Ranger; recall his brother Capt. Reid, who led the rangers that were ambushed.
I will usually refer to my character as Jack or Doc.
BTW I may goof and write Jake, that is my brother also named John.
Sorry for the confusion.

Good news
Dreen has contacted me and he is sorting out some RL issues so he will be back to play McGuiness soon. My thanks to Robert for volunteering to fill the gap.

Out of Town
I'll away from internet service until Sunday afternoon. We are doing our annual BSA "Outdoor Leaders Training" starting tonight. I'm one of the District Trainers. We'll be putting over 30 adult scout leaders through basic Outdoor Training. They sleep in tents, we are forced to used the cabin in order to maintain course materials, lol. Should fun, 20 - 40% chance of rain. Tonight's low 42. Should be great time.
Looking forward to the "Dutch Oven" cooking.
I'll catch up Sunday night so I can post Monday.

Back
Ok, I'm back and plan to post tonight or tomorrow.
No one has claimed the hand guns yet. We don't to forget them if they are useful.
I'm planning on writing about the food, we'll split up the smoked ham, grab a few potatoes and rutabagas. If nothing else a potatoes can be shoved up a tailpipe to keep vehicles from starting. Too much back compression.

Dutch Oven
Part of our course is to introduce new scout leaders to outdoor meal planning so they can help their scouts learn to plan. We have one of our trainers that is an avid Dutch Oven cook and he does about a 45 minute presentation on Dutch Oven and cast iron cooking. He is also the one that does the cooking for the staff. About half of what he cooks for staff is done in Dutch Ovens.
For first night "Cracker Barrel" staff provide three dump cakes baked in Dutch Ovens and last night we provide two oven full off hot meat snacks, one was bar-b-cue meat balls and the other was "Swedish Meatballs". Mmmmm...... good eats!
