Okay Olan

I will leave my Post stand as is and see what reactions are forthcoming from the other Players, if any, before you Post in game as the GM to move the adventure along.

Desired Result

Fortunately, the desired Role Play result has transpired between our good CAPTIN and myself.

Hammerfoot's response to Vengador's cry of warning and his reaction to the response, hopefully adds credibility to the story and is well within character for both of us.

Not the Leader

My Esteemed Gaming Partners

Before we proceed much further into this adventure, I just want to establish that I in no way consider Vengador to be the Leader of this merry band of adventurers!

Although he is quite capable of taking the Lead on any occasion where such action may be warranted, he considers himself to be both the Healer and the Protector of this group and is content to follow the Lead of both Talca and Rae (I think that CAPTIN already established in his writing somewhere that Hammerfoot is not the Leader ???)

If you read my long Intro thoroughly, then hopefully I wrote with enough clarity to establish the parameters of my character and his actions thus far have been quite in line with his character history that has been established in the body of the Game Intro.

Vengador probably has many more Syl and Khord friends than he has Human friends.

He has a special place in his heart for the Khords, as it has been established that he was awarded the Emerald gem for his heroism in aiding 'Loco' Fungihammer in rescuing the captured Khord children.

'Loco' was a character that I created and played I think twice in Audalis adventures DMed by Almerin.

'Loco' has also been a reference point for more than one of my characters since he was 'retired' from my using him as my Main Character in an active adventure here at the Inn in recent years.

Because of his heart being so close knit with 'Loco' and the Khords, when Hammerfoot charged forward to help the shuffling travelers, my character shouted out the "UNDEAD" warning first in the Khord language to try to alert his friend of the possible danger!

I could have just have had Vengador holler out in Khord to alert only Hammerfoot of the possible danger (as my character has the most, albeit limited, experience with Zombies & Skeletons) but I figured because it was in character for him to both Heal and Protect the group, then it was 'In Character' to shout the warning in all 4 languages that he both speaks and understands.

As mentioned earlier, my character looks to both Rae and Talca for Leadership of the group, and as the Healer and Protector my character will usually march at the back of the group.

This serves two purposes: 1. He can keep an eye on all 6 adventurers as the Healer and Protector and 2. He can serve as a Protector in case of any ambushes or attacks against the rear of the group while marching onward into our glorious adventure!

I do realize that although I am a gifted writer to some degree, the truth of the matter is that what I intend to come across in my writing does not always get conveyed to the Party Members or Lurking Readers as was intended when I wrote the Post (for whatever reason).

Hope that helps clarify things ???

Leadership

Given the composition of our party, and the personalities of each member, I don't know that our merry band would have a true leader. We've got such an eclectic mix, here, that I almost envision a very democratic dynamic having developed.

That said, Talca would only consider himself a "leader" where choosing the best and/or safest path for his companions was concerned and, of course, guiding them along said path. To that end, I figure he's usually "running point" in our marching formations but, in combat situations, will remain at range, if possible, and let someone else "lead" the combat operations.

Aaaaanyhooo... Post forthcoming.

On the topic of Leadership...

Hammerfoot only considers himself the father or elder of the group, not the patriarch, so while he will step up in times of need, he won't like it or continue to lead after the end of the stressful times.

not it!

This is a lot of "not it". Somebody likely has to bear this burden.

Or not! Up to you guys.

Edited Rae's dialogue slightly

Probably doesn't change your post, Eol, but I thought I'd mention it in case it gets missed because my post is last on the previous page

Re: Leader - I get the impression Rae fulfills that sort of role. Literally fearless leader (not to be confused with reckless, she just can steel herself against fear well enough to not be affected by it now)

She won't shy away from asking others' opinions, especially when it's something in their domain of knowledge rather than her own (Talca for pathfinding and scouting, and so on)

Woot!

Rae, sounds good. Pepper can lead, certainly. She might be hard to take seriously sometimes when in public, as she keeps anything seriousness close to the vest and just within the party. And feel free to send her out to sneak and be stealthy. You all know she's a sneak thief by now. Someone has lost something at some point and then told her "no, bad Pepper bad". If not, wellllll be ready for it.

Pepper being scolded

I'm sure that at some point our good healer Hammerfoot observed her procuring something in a less-than-legal manner and pulled her aside for a little chat.

Okay Gang

I am going to give everybody a chance to Post before I add anything more.

Note to Olan There is something additional that I plan to have Vengador do before your next Update.

However, the Posts from other Players may or may not have a bearing on what Vengador will do next.

Thank You

First round?

In that case, I'm pretty sure Talca's actually going to be looking forward to Vengador's uncertainties in the future.

I get the impression...

Given the opportunity, Rae would purchase and carry extra preservable food and drink for this purpose, and that this is very likely not the first time the others have seen her do this.

I mean, Shield Maiden of Falloes, encounter half starved anyone, and this is the result They didn't ask, but she isn't going to let them go without at least offering

yep

Works for me. Cost and weight are well within your character's tolerances.
