**raises her hand**

Uhhh ... am I too late to join?

I have the base sheet for a true neutral half-elven female fighter 4 that I can "flesh out" pretty quick, if I can get in ... (attributes in PM to ya, Kaelyn ...)

Barrbarra Ienn

For a half-elf Barrb is tall. Very tall. Nearly six feet tall. Other than that, her appearance is rather average, even for a half-elf. Except for that one aspect, she would be considered nondescript, unremarkable, typical. Slender, she is, with light brown hair, a fair complexion, and hazel eyes. She has a small scar visible under her lower lip, just above her chin. A small scar from childhood. Her other, more numerous, scars are hidden by either clothing or armor. And a few scars also mar some of her memories.

For five years after she began her individual search for her 'niche', her place in the world, she worked as a castle guard for a noble, one Duke Plattius William. She would be there still, had she not refused his command to bed with him. He was known locally for his lecherous libido, and made no attempt to be discreet about his escapades. His affections were lavished as much among courtiers as they were among the commoners. Beauty was a prerequisite, but he wasn't strict about it. When summoned to his chambers herself, she had assumed it was for a special duty, and the smiles and snickers among the other guardsmen and -women when the word was spread were not heeded as the warnings they were meant to be. To make a long story short, she adamantly refused, he just as adamantly insisted, and she knocked him out. Knowing that the one act alone would kill any career she would wish to pursue in the local vicinity, she quickly packed and left. One of her fellow guardsmen gifted her with an extrememly well-made bastard sword as she packed her belongings. The entire guard agreed that she had only given the Duke his just reward, even though it was spontaneous and without thinking at the time.

Since her exodus from the castle guard, she has simply worked "odd jobs" as a blank shield, and just recently finished a stint as one of a company of mercenary guards protecting for a train of wagons for the Seven Stars Trading Company of Chondath, bound for Tethyr.

She's In Darromar.Because:
It has taken nearly a month for the wagons to reach the city of Darromar. It was here that she parted company with the Merchant-Traders on amicable terms, purposely not telling them that she has been bored to tears for the past month. She has spent the last few days "relaxing" (translates to: "drinking and carousing"). She keeps asking around for any word of adventure of the less mundane sort ...

ICEBREAKER The shadows dance and cavort around the clearing you have chosen to make camp in. The late autumn breeze fights the mediating warmth of the campfire to send shivers down your spine. Daybreak will come soon, but the constant feeling of hungry eyes staring over you is enough to keep you from some much needed rest. Gazing out between the silent trees of the surrounding forest, a fleeting glimpse of movement darts from cover to cover, shadow to shadow…
Barrb would have rather made a cold camp, but she's thankful she had the fire going. The weather hadn't warmed up enough yet. It had turned cold enough to make her think about going over to Umm to unstrap the blanket so she could either wrap herself in it or or hold it up to use as a reflector to catch what little heat the fire was giving out. She looked affectionately at the big dun and smiled. He had been faithful, reliable, and sometimes cantankerous, but he had always been there. She wondered again whether she should find him a nice place that would pasture him in retirement. But then she would have to train another horse to work with her. With her, not for her. Umm was older than she normally liked a horse to be when she first purchased him seven years ago, but he redeemed himself by quickly learning what she required of him. No, not now. Not yet. He still has a few good years in him, and a willingness to spend them actively.

She was just about to stand when she noticed a movement in the darkness that seemed independent of the waving shadows of the moonlit trees. It was just barely within her peripheral vision, but noticeable. She purposely did not turn her head, but hesitated only briefly, then stood up, unhooking the peace-braid over the quillons of the sword as she rose to free her sword in case she needed it. She sauntered slowly over to Umm and made a show of unstrapping her cloak instead of a blanket. Draping the cloak over her shoulder to leave both arms free, she moved back to the fire, deliberately not looking toward the movement she had seen, pretending she hadn't seen it. As long as it stayed out there, it was as safe as it could be. Now that she was ready and wary, neither her fire nor her camp was safe for unwanted intruders.

Aelistae

I thought I'd (re)post some info. about Aelistae, since I've enjoyed reading those tidbits about Linnix and Barrb.

Background:

Aelistae D’Vrann was born and raised in the dark depths of Menzoberranzen. All that she has to remind of her childhood, however, are sights, sounds and smells she wishes she could forget. Her moments of reverie are punctuated by the anguished wails of living creatures that she saw killed before her for the greater glory of Lolth. Whenever she bathes and catches her reflection in the cool water of a stream she sees the cruel visage of her mother, Matron Mother Valerna D’Vrenn, staring back. And after foraging for food and roasting it over an open fire she can still smell the burning flesh of her family and her House as it was obliterated by its rivals.

Yet, Aelistae considers herself lucky, or at least luckier than most drow. House D’Vrann was destroyed mere weeks before she was due to be sent to Arach Tinilith – the academy where drow females are sent to prepare themselves for a lifetime of servitude to Lolth. When Aelistae’s House was destroyed she alone survived, taken as a pretty plaything by mercenaries of Bregon D’aerthe who were involved in the attack. And when she escaped her cruel masters and fled into the labyrinthine tunnels of the Underdark, she stumbled out onto the surface world and into the protective embrace of a coven of Eilistraee’s worshippers.

If things had been different, Aelistae knows, she would be dead or worse, an unfeeling creature bound to serve the Spider Queen. As it is Aelistae was freed by Eilistraee’s liberating message: that the drow can re-write their fate and live once more under the stars.

Unfortunately Aelistae has found that the path of the Dark Maiden is not an easy one to follow. She spent six decades on the surface in Cormanthor and in the Promenade beneath Waterdeep and rose to become a trusted Blade Sister of Eilistraee. She was also prepared and instructed in the ways of the surface races so that she could walk among them when her time to leave the sanctuaries of the Elistraeean came. Since she has left to make her own way, however, the reaction of surface races to her has not been what she hoped. Aelistae has been attacked by humans she tried to help and spat upon by elves who are slow to forget the crimes of her race.

Recently Aelistae entered the war-torn lands of Tethyr, hoping there that she will find some who will look past the colour of her skin. Time alone will tell if she succeeds.

Appearance:

Drow females are bred for their beauty, strength and intelligence, and Aelistae is no different. Wide, nocturnal eyes are framed below narrow tufts of stark white hair. The angular beauty of her face, tapers to lush, dark-red lips. Her skin is the colour of midnight shadow, and the moonlight silver of her hair trails down from the crown of her head to the bottom of her back.

When expecting battle Aelistae is clad in black chain mail that rattles over form-fitting black leathers. She carries a large sword and bow much as any drow warrior would. The only thing that would separate her from her evil kin is the broach she wears of a naked, drow female dancing before a full moon.

When relaxing, or in private, Aelistae would prefer to wander around free of all clothes if she could. In respect of the modesty of other races, though, she often wears a silvery, diaphanous gown.

Grocery shopping took forever when coupled with breaking down, getting lost, putting stuff away then being asked to cater for some unexpected company at 9pm...

So... I've the post done, just need to type it up and get it on here..

Should be within the next couple hours.

Thanks for your patience.

one player needed

So our incredibly fast paced Forgotten Realms game has room for one more would be adventurer! Devalero's extended absence fro mthe inn has caused his character's timeline to fall too far behind to keep him going, an as such I'm opening up the chance for another player to fill the void with another character.

Character need be of neutral or good alignment,
level 4
with 8,000 gold to spend on whatever equipment they see fit. (An arcane spellcaster would be useful as the party only has one npc bard) however any class will do.

THe party (currently divided) is at the perfect opportunity to introduce a new character, so if you've interest let me know!

I update at the speed of my players, which means there are some weeks I update 1 / week and there are many times I'd say far above average, I update at least 3 times a week, sometimes more!

The game is deep and involved with action, horror, intrigue romance and more, with plenty of room for character development and interaction. Plus you get to use my own patented CD point program, which rewards playes, by players for creative writing, character growth, and encourages all to become better writers and players. Join today!

...

It is a wonderful game. So if anyone is hesitating as to whether they put their name forward, don't.

Dibbs

An arcane spellcaster you say? I suppose a warlock is too limited...

I think I'll roll-up a Wu Jen and throw the sheets your way sometime later this evening. Anything else I need to know other than 8000g and lvl4?

VERY interested ...

Okay, 8kgp and 4th level. Can have a spellcaster generated relatively quickly ...

Creation by standard 4d6-drop-lowest? Point-buy? Other method?

I have char sheets turned in for two other games, but they haven't started yet, and I WANT TO PLAY !! And even then, I don't think three games is too many. I have seen others in 6 or 7 different games ...

Can I? Can I? Huh? Pretty please?

the player who dropped

played a war-mage if that's any help.

Stat rolling is standard 4d6 drop lowest, hit point total is max first, and I'll fill in the rest (I'll roll the dice and I always reroll 1's on HD rolls)

To those interested, please send me a writing sample (you can respond to the one on the first page of this thread much like all my other players did, and we'll go from there.) If both submissions are top notch, I don't mind extending the place to two players
