Nurses?
Huh? Did I miss something? When did John interact with any of the nurses?

Crap
Sorry. I missed that part when he entered and looked at them. I would have responded if I had seen it. I'm sorry I'm a little spacey at times. In the future if you would please drop me a PM to let me know I would be glad to have any of them interact. I'm sure Miraan especially would have had a response.

Sorry....
Yep a PM would have been the right thing to do.
A little back post of girl talk around the table could set the stage for the next encounter.
Check the duty rotation on page 1 of Q&A and it would tell you when Reid is of duty so we might try it again.
There isn't a Medical Duty posted there to show who is where when and the Med shift are a different time length. So it may just a chance meeting in the passage, lounge or mess.
It looks like Alpha shift would be John's next open.

Definitely
Yes we can work out a collaboration or something.
I will back post something regarding his exit from the mess hall.
The Medical duty schedule is in game on page 9 about 2/3 down the page.

For convenience
Here's the MED schedule:
Sunday alpha: Po. Cook
Sunday beta: Cr. Patel
Monday alpha: Po. Adama
Monday beta: Cr. Patel
Tuesday alpha: Po. Cook
Tuesday beta: Po. Miraan
Wednesday alpha: Po. Adama
Wednesday beta: Cr. Reynolds
Thursday alpha: Po. Adama
Thursday beta: Cr. Reynolds
Friday alpha: Po. Miraan
Friday beta: Cr. Reynolds
Saturday Alpha: Po. Miraan
Saturday beta: Cr. Patel
Note: MED technically only has two 12 hour shifts as opposed to the three 8 hour shifts enjoyed by most other departments. This is due in large part to the limited personnel assigned to Medical and/or the need to have someone posted in sickbay 24/7. Poor Dr Moore and Chief Cook are on 24 hr call all the time, I'm afraid. But they're awesome like that!!!

Field medic training.
We could rp having some staff from other departments cross train as field medics, takes some stress off the medical staff and would allow for some good holodeck rp.

Break room thoughts.
So in sitting on my coffee break thinking, what does a day in an average Starfleet officer look like, and what does a day look like for a senior officer look like? This mostly stems from the discussion of medical duty shifts being 12 hours, probably a 4 on 3 off rotation if it was real life or your staff would die of exhaustin. This led to me thinking that the 3 shift rotation makes no sense since it leaves no time for admin work short if working more than 12 hours which isn't a problem really but again even on a ship where most things are automated you still have issues of staff burnout which with your main decision making staff could be fatal. So how do senior staff deal with all their admin tasks and and still work duty shifts

hmmm
Somehow I don't think the GM is going to give us a lot of spare time to cross train. Besides, we have 5 nurses and a Doctor. If it gets to the point we need more than we are all in trouble.
Hoping we're not giving our GM any ideas. Hmmm I guess he probably already has those ideas.

Med staff
Well using the Medical staff duty roster. They only work 3 days a week during normal operations. Not accounting for emergencies. They also have a specialist who does the lab type work when needed and a Yeoman to take care of a lot of those admin dues. It seems like a reasonable schedule to me.
I think the senior staff would also have Yeomans to handle a lot of their admin things. They only have to review and sign off on them.

Bridge Officers.........
Bridge Offices are like department managers in business, you handle your personal admin during your shift between scheduled tasks. They do training during off hours.
As for Reid he also is doing studies to get another Certification.
