Donald stood up and hugged Eli.

"Lighten up, man. I'm just f*****g with you. You're a very handsome man."

Donald sat right next to Dawn.

"And you might wanna get used to me. I plan on sticking around a while."

Eli looked like he was about to blow a brain circuit. "Uhh... How bout we just never talk?"

Dawn laughed and looked at Donald. "I won't mind." She smiled seductively.

Donald leaned back.

"He totally hates me."

He lit a cigarette while the teacher was gone. He didn't really care if anyone minded.

Eli frowned. "No, I just dislike anyone who could make trouble for my Lady."

Donald laughed and smoke escaped from him.

"Dude, you don't know your charge very well. She seems perfectly capable of getting herself into trouble without anyone's help."

Donald threw his arms behind him, letting them one drape behind Dawn. Forget Adrian. He was getting it from someone else.

Dawn smiled at Donald, then looked at Eli. "Chillax."

Eli just frowned and turned away.

Donald got up when the class was over.

"So, where to next? I'll just follow you."

He had forgotten how amazing it was to watch her walk.

Dawn grinned and led the way. Eli also followed, silent and brooding.

Donald followed suit. Their schedules were exactly the same, so he figured he could afford to watch her hips all day. Life was good for Donald now. As they walked, he smoked another cigarette. Man, things turned around quick.

Dawn looked back and raised an eyebrow.

As she got out of the car, Kate peered up at the intimidating building in earnest. Andrew and his mother got out briefly to say their goodbyes.

His mother hugged her tenderly and told her if she "ever needed anything, anything at all", she knew where to find them. Andrew, blushing slightly, waited until his mother took her place in the car again before he hugged Kate. After a few long moments passed the two parted, exchanging a weighted look.

Quickly and suddenly, before he lost his resolve, he kissed her gently on the cheek and whispered goodbye, darting back into the car.

She rubbed her cheek, still feeling the tingling sensation his lips left behind, and blushed, clutching her bags. This was already an interesting day in her book.

Dawn suddenly looked away. "Don... Someone new." Fear quickly made her stomach clench. What if they were like her brother had been? She stepped close to him and buried herself in his arms. "Don, what if they're evil?" The demon flashed through her mind.

Donald laughed at Dawn.

"Chill, alright? I happen to be very good at making acquaintances." Donald started walking down towards the parking lot, where he parked his own beat up car. As he stepped out the building, he walked into the girl trying to get in.

"Oh, s**t. I'm so sorry."

As she walked in, eyes down, Kate walked right into an older boy on his way out and stumbled, flinching. She dropped one of her bags out of which spilled a myriad of things, most of which were CDs. A few popped out of their plastic cases as they hit the ground.

As the boy cursed his apology, she muttered, "No, no, sorry, s'my stupid fault, I shoulda been watchin' where I was goin'..."

She began to pick up her things and haphazardly placed them back in the bag, repeating "Sorry, sorry, sorry..." under her breath, and silently cursing herself for making an ass of herself within the first five minutes of her time here.

She had fallen asleep in his arms. Her breathing was rythimic and slow, almost soothing. She was warm against him. The soft fabric of her dress shifted back and forth as she inhaled and exhaled, sending minuscule tingling riplets of sensation through his body. Her head was on his chest and her hair hwas buried in his face.

As they lay there, a thought had occured to him. He was, at the time, alseep, but this thought had shaken him so that he could no longer shut his eyes.

She had made her entire life here in the garden, she was a spiritual being, nothing more. What would become of them when he was brought back into the real world. He would no longer be with her, they would be seperated by an impassable barrier, never able to kiss or touch or hold each other again.

A tear had come to his eye when the thought occured to him. It still hung there on his cheek, dangling over her soft hair. He smiled, but then frowned just as quickly. He knew this was too good to be true.

His hand touched her hair softly, and he threaded her long black locks through his fingers, shuddering at losing the greatest thing in the world.
