Well the down time came at a time when I needed to be away too.

June 2 my mother (92)was in car accident and now just this Thursday I brought home from nursing care. So I was either at the hospital or nursing care almost every night with her. Would have been late on posts.

Now it looks like much smoother times. I have Reid sleeping during departure because he is next up on Gamma shift for the bridge. So he just slept through two month of Ody down time.

I will need to get back into the date time thing and read some back to get started again.

Ok here's my outline so that Brennas might have a little more. I plan to have Reid doing a quick security review on the new crew member as a brief for the Lt. This will allow him to catch high level facts without have to complete each bio in a rush. He can do that later. I would guess he would want a bit more warm fuzzy on the new bridge SO and others.

Reid will then retire for his rest to take the Command Chair on Beta shift. (Insert ZZZZZZZZZZ......)

Should have that up tonight.

Still catching up and refreshing, may be tomorrow for my post but seeing that Reid is minor character and support it is mostly fill until direct action starts.

I am trying to figure out where to start in Medical. I posted last that we were moving Chief Thorson to the Sickbay after he was sedated.

I have seen mention of transferring him off to SB 18 with the Dr's approval. Do we have to wait to make the transfer? I mean could I post something about getting him stable and secure and then having him move to SB18 where they will take charge of him?

Without anyone in medical to interact with I am a little lost here. Especially after such a long break.

I have a few ideas that will give medical some rp.

And Boo, I say post getting Thorson stable and the rapid transfer base side. There's no reason not to. For the sake of Yanamari's pending return, you could leave places for her to insert instruction, orders, or other interactions, but I'd say don't tie yourself up. Or... or, you could just post a few hours ahead after the ship is under way if you feel uncomfortable about taking liberties in sickbay.

Just my thoughts.

Lt Chell (Ops) - Promoted and given an XO post aboard another ship. Was supposed to have been replaced by a Lt Tetsuko (?) but, instead, we got Lt Lasad.

Lt Rockatansky (Tac/Sec) - Transferred under mysterious circumstances. Replaced by Lt Berk.

Lt Synklar (Medical) - Transferred under mysterious circumstances. Replaced by Lt Moore.

Lt Cmdr Thorson (Eng) - Relieved of duty due to medical emergency. Unexpectedly replaced by Lt McTavish.

Lt (jg) Tesenblen (Sci) - arrested for illegal acquisition and cultivation of potentially dangerous substances aboard SF installations/ships. Replaced by Lt Sh'iraolnas.

I think that covers the major transfers.

Note: There were also numerous "minor" transfers that transpired during our time at SB 118, as well... Ens Thomason joined the Flight Control Dept, several new medical personnel came aboard with Dr Moore, etc.

I'm sure that it's been mentioned before but it never hurts to put it out there, again... Dept heads should feel free and are encouraged to flesh out their department rosters with NPCs as they see fit.

Having literally no experience with this format of RP I'm always a little reticent to introduce things for fear of screwing up, which brings me to my question. If I have an idea for side plot can I just introduce it or should I run it by the powers that be.

I worked the transfers into my post in hopes to help readers see the magnitude of the transfers. Didn't put too much into the transfers as plot stuff. Also gave Brennus a little to work with while on the bridge to review the briefing.

Slow start but still a start.

Brennus, so long as the side plot doesn't deviate personnel from the main plot (read, we've suddenly been attacked by the Borg or sucked into a wormhole), you should be fine. As a matter-of-fact, you're encouraged to do so and even include other departments so that other players can be involved in RP. Just be aware of dates and time so you're not posting conflicts.
