Odd question
The eldritch blast has a somatic component, but not a verbal one, so I figure the act of casting doesn't make any more noise than walking (rustling of clothing), but what about the actual ray? Ignoring any cries of "oh my god, my spleen!" coming from the target, is it a nearly silent effect?
I've always imagined that there's a faint purple & black glow emanating from it for the second or so that it takes to reach its target, but I've never thought about sound before. What do you think Kaelyn?

Sounds of rays
I wouldn't think of it more than what you'd hear of a dispersal of energy, that short fizzing sound... if that makes any sense.. Not loud by any sense.

My evil plan
Though my character wouldn't know, I'm hinking that we could try to come at these goblins the same way the werewolves came at us (you). Our physically powerful characters (that be you, Xaris and Artanis) find locations at which they are subject to the highest numbers of enemies and the rest can take up positions around the camp. No survivors to flee to the other camps if everyone is careful; their forces would be split with dealing with either side at a time. Of course though, this may be dangerous as everyone is separated by rather large distances, so aid is at one's own hands.

I like the sound of that, cutting off all areas of retreat.

Ahd what
... would make goblins submissively soil themselves, like puppies rolling onto their backs and peeing in fear, than quick and merciless power quickly taking out all their head honcho(s) at once, camp by camp ...

Sniper
What's the diameter of the camp? The range on Talus' eldritch blast is 60ft, so I might be able to stand at the edge of the torch ring and pick off targets across the entire encampment.

Oddly enough
DarkAutumn phoned me tonight and we discussed all that was going on. Artanis (in game as it were and out) voices her agreement with surrounding and decisively striking the camps like the werewolve's did to you guys earlier. She specifically stated that the pair of goblins by the northeast trail be pacified first so as to deter anyone from fleeing to warn the others.
It's also been pointed out that in eliminating a trio of patrol's eventually when they fail to report your freedom of moving around unobserved will likely become much more limited.
Time's ticking.

Dwibius, Dm and Brianna I've wrote a generalized intro for you so as to take what actions you may.

How to remember radius and Diameter
think radius like is a ray out from a center point
Diameter like a diadem on the head goes all the way side to side

Hiya everyone!
*many hugs*
Thanks, Kaelyn, for making that post for me.
Just as an FYI for everyone, I do not have the net at home anymore. Well, I moved so that's why. Anyway, I still go to my Mom's in the mornings after I drop my kids off at school. I just lug my lap top with me and link into her net. Anyway, I just copy paste all new posts into my "Forgotten Realms: The unsung Heroes" documents, so when I go home after work, I read them and type my post, then submit the post the next morning and copy any new posts submitted through the night.
Cool thing is if the site ever crashes, we will have a COMPLETE log of every post from the beginning to the end, as well as a complete log of the Q/A thread. (just finished copying that full thread)
So, there ya have it.

Radius and Diameter
Chris--I always learn it by Radius--ray coming from the center. Diameter, like a round cut diamond so all the way across. It is called mnemonics, a trick to key a concept to a word.

Apologies for not posting already, I've had a really hectic last few days, and haven't even had the chance to read the last few posts. I will, though, post now-ish (or in the next hour or two).
It may be a bit belated, but welcome to the game Dwibius. And welcome back DA, it's great to have you back!

Thanks Ginafae! It's awesome to be back. And it cldn't have happened at a better time! hehe
Just in time for getting into the thick of things...lol I tell you what, I have never had so much fun in a game before.
I love playing this macha chica, always being the first to jump to fight off the enemy. Such a difference from the meek chics I've played up 'till now. So....YAY ME! hehe
