Bring it in!
Oh yeah, all of my torture/brainwashing ish is all just gallows-humor and things I tell myself to get into messed-up Kith brain. It's uh, not a great situation they've got going there.
I do look forward to the Aranwen/Kith dynamic. I think about it a lot both in regards to KCandK and HC/HC2/HCA. It's one thing, among many, that I'm bummed we weren't both there in the beginning of HC for, or had even contemplated the relationship until way later. I imagine that, having grown much more comfortable and accustomed to Ara and the way Ara treats her, it would have been kind of funny for Kith to go back to try and seem tough in front of the new people That being said, I'm looking forward to her finding comfort in both Ara and Ch'dau in KCandK. Just want my girl to be happy.
I also do ultimately find it funny that Ch'dau is cat-dad. He is just her buddy, aaaand is technically a few years younger--though I think relatively the same age or a little older based on his lifespan. I think in Aftermath, the fatherliness will likely come out more, after they'd all been through so much turmoil, but in KCandK and HC, he's just her bestie.
Aaahhhh, I love these characters so much haha.

As do I!
One of the more entertaining/intriguing groups of characters I've had the pleasure to be a part of in a good while! I'm loving the exploration of their relationships and all of the little nuanced pieces of them that we seem to pull out (i.e. the "cat-dad" thing, especially given the ages of Ch'dau and Kith, the fact that Ch'dau and Ara end up "married," etc).
Anyhoo... got a post about halfway done. Got to go to the grocery, now, but, will finish up and post when I get back!
Happy Saturday, lovelies!

Boom!
Back to fighting the bone-spider... and, I'm guessing, those creepy little dolls, as well!
Didn't want to go too much farther, though, as I imagined each of you would prefer to add you own actions and reactions.

Woooooo!
Let's get this thing!
Kith is pretty upset they've lost their bladesinger, she would have been so helpful . . . But at least they got a cleric this time!
Heading over to the doggo cafe for some coffee and to write in a few!
To clarify: are we in the study?
Will it be just the bone spider, or will the dolls do anything?

They certainly will do something
At the immediate moment, the Kithran-doll is locking the door, hovering at the handles as she winds thread around them to bind them closed, the Ch'dau-doll is holding it shut by leverage of both feet on the ground and hands against the door, even against the banging that can be heard by Aranwen trying to force it open. A felt doll with a white dress is sitting on top of the bone spider, seeming to either be waiting, or otherwise inanimate right now. Might be difficult to spot that one because white against bone.

Are they very hearty? If someone were to, say, mace their s*** up in an attempt to open the door, how would they fight back?
Honestly I'm having trouble getting the gingerbread man from Shrek out of my head as these things lol

LOL @ Gingerbread Man
I blame my age, but I can't help but picture something along the lines of Raggedy Ann and Andy when I imagine the felt dolls.
Also - Yes, I imagine this particular room being a study of some sort. I figure Adedre's got at least a couple of rooms lined with books, scroll cases, etc. Probably a few mouldering pieces of furniture here and there, a small table or three, candelabras, oil lamps, etc...
Aaaaaaaand, I'm afraid that Ch'dau might be close to ruining that cloak that Kith gave him by wrapping it around the bone-spider's head... *shrugs* ... we shall see!

Well...
They're not too easy to hit being small. And then Mosic would likely get struck by a sneak attack dice from the Kith-doll flanking with the Ch-doll and leaping up in an attempt to slash at the back of Mosic's neck. It's almost identical to what Kithran did with the mannequin in the apothecary... not a lot of damage mind, but certainly a 'back off' with it actually hurting as opposed to the negligable damage you'd expect from a felt toy doll.
Those two guard the door, but otherwise don't really engage yet. Morgana is waiting for the skespider to do some damage first. She hasn't seen what it can do, nor how Ch'dau and Kithran react to it. Speaking of which, if the skespider makes Ch'dau or Kithran bleed, the white-dress doll hops off the skespider to gather whatever blood falls to the floor...

Weapons...
The dolls appear unarmed. However...
A careful/lucky look at the Kith-doll when it attacks would show a faint, shadowy silhouette wearing Morgana's mask, but otherwise appearing identical in body shape to Kithran, and holding similarly faint copies of Kithran's daggers. The lips on that mask do move, curling into a cruel smile during the attack. The apparition fades away after striking.
Also, Raggedy Ann and Andy are definitely not too far off from the general aesthetic of the felt dolls...

Random sidenote . . .
The amount of times I write "Kitheran" instead of "Kithran" is too damn high.

Aaaand, back to you, Jim
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
. . . .
TAG!
* * * * * *
And in case it matters:
Mosic used 1 of 3 second level spells to cast Guiding Bolt at a higher level (usually a 1st level spell), hitting the the s*** out of that leg (at 2nd level, that's 5d6, and I rolled pretty well ), plus the glow afterward gave the next strike advantage. RP as you wish, Catman.
He used 2 of 4 first level spells to cast Bless to give the three of them +1d4 on attacks and saving throws (mechanically, it's a concentration spell, so if he gets hit there's a chance he'll drop the spell, do with that what you will), and to cast Healing Word on Ch'dau.
For those following at home who give an eff, he still has:
1 of 2 channels left to use destroy undead--though this creature's CR is likely too high to be affected. 2 of 4 level 1 spells 2of 3 level 2 spells 2 of 2 level 3 spells
Good day
