So where's the humane society located?

Ok, I think I will post in the game thread that Anvil wants to look around and buy a dog or two. I am hoping that we might pool some of this starter money we were given – Anvil doesn’t have a whole lot to start with. Hammer is the only that has responded specifically to the dog question, so I am hesitant to spend other peoples money. Speak up quickly, or if I have already posted, feel free to post contrary statements. I’d probably buy two if we can.

Rat

has no problem sharing the initial gold. Why two?

Why two is ...

..... because one can protect and fight on the right flank and the other can protect and fight on the left flank of the group!

Familiars

SD, I think I had asked you previously about my familiar, but never got a response.

I would assume that T'Sal and myself had already summoned familiars by this point, but that is your call.

Hmmmmm, two dogs .....

Right flank and left flank ......

Plus, they add height to the party - probably being higher than the two dwarves?

Do they eat vegetables?

Rat (feeling impatient to get ready to rumble)

familiar

due to the excessive costs of this spell i'm not going to allow this to have been pre-cast. this is a very personal spell that you must spend a thousand gold in incence and components to even begin to cast so this will have to wait untill you have amassed your own fortunes. please note that according to my PHB you do not get any additional HP for having a familiar, also you can not look through it's eyes all you really get is the animals sensory benefits. and a friend of course. don't mean to be a stick in the mud but your appreciation of your familiar will be greater when you have to blow that 1000 gp to get it.

Familiar

SD--Understood and very reasonable. I think the HP was an old house rule from a DM a used to play under. That is why it helps to go back and read the descriptions

spell coordination

It may be a good idea to coordinate what spells we memorize. Since we only get 1, it would probably help to be diverse on that front.

I don't mind picking a defensive one if you want to go offensive. In fact, since I'm covering the rear, I'd prefer it that way, but it is really up to you.

I'll post on the main thread to role play the suggestion.

All the blood drained out of 'em. Oh, nice.

Well, the dogs aren't true war dogs, but they may help a bit. I guess we should take him up on his offer. As for wanting to get info on the critters, it doesn't seem like we will get much, although the "blood draining" is a nice touch.

Is there anything else we need before we set out?

Hey Guys

I realize that most of you have quite a bit on your plate, but I just wanted to direct your attention to the Yellow Recruitment Thread titled Gauging Interest.

One of my characters died in another adventure that has freed up some adventure space for me and I have been kicking around an idea for an adventure.

I will NOT take it personal if you guys are unable to participate and I look forward to our adventure here at Oaks Heart and hopefully the resumption of An Evil in Orlane also.
