Well

'Rosetta' is a strong gymnast and fencer, so melee combat is her forte so long as she has either her rapier or fencing foil. She is also good at drawing, and most notably has a Weird Delusion that is... well, bizarre.

Supernaturally, her strength lies in healing, and only healing (which is therefore quite strong because it isn't spread out among other abilities), but it'll take a while before she learns to accept that ability as part of her... or not... it's hard to say, depending on what circumstances occur.

Archetype kind of follows a fusion of the Weird One and Reluctant Hero types.

Sorry

I have reserved my seven slot for grugg. I think that is pushing the number of characters due to my still being a new gm. Go ahead and make one up if you want to ayrn, he/she could always be a reserve.

Also, need finalized char sheets in the aforementioned formats EMAILED to me. [email protected]

Nah

Hey, thanks for the quick response, Vesper. I thought that might be the case. Glad I asked!

I won't spend time on a character that "might" get played. (Time's too precious for that) But if a spot opens up, you can look me up!

I'm smoothing out all the final details and finishing touches. Had some marathon work travel and I'm catching up on some stuff, should have everything done emailed tomorrow or thursday.

reasons

Need a reason why you would be in a night club reserved for gifted. Not necessarily a reason why you would be there but reason to be in LA in general. Something that I could put in an intro post.

Unlikelihood

There's an easy reason why Janelle would be in LA: one of her teams (gymnastics or fencing) is involved in a tournament in that city.

However, I'm not sure Janelle would be in that 'night club' at all; she prefers to avoid drawing attention to herself on the supernatural side, and if it is specifically reserved for people with supernatural capabilities, that would imply an acceptance of that part of her, which isn't there initially. Not to mention it doesn't fit her character; she doesn't drink, and she wouldn't be interested in that type of environment.

Thinking

Perhaps she is questioning why she has these abilities, where they come from. If she's not in acceptance with this part of herself, then why would she be adventuring with others with abilities and the power to work magic. Perhaps it is a duality within herself, she wants to accept this part of herself but needs to know that there are others out there like her.

Hmm...

Janelle isn't adventuring with the others at this point in time, which is only just the beginning; she doesn't know any of the other characters, and if that was a requirement you didn't specify so beforehand.

... Well, I suppose if it comes down to it, she can be invited by Eol's character after 'discovering' her at some point in his background story... does that work for everyone?

*sigh*

But you will be with them. I am using this as a gathering point so to speak. Perhaps somebody you know is another 'gifted' and they invited you.

Oh, you didn't understand

That's the same as what I said; in my example, Alex finds out about Janelle at some point in his background history, and here, at the beginning of the game, invites her to that place...

That's definitely do-able where I'm concerned...

...I'd be happy to work Rosetta into Alex's background.

As far as Alex himself being in LA... hunting Azazelites, probably... being in the nightclub? Same reason, possibly... or, with Alex, maybe his flask is just empty.

SHould have that finalized character sheet to you today, Vesper.

Alex in a night club?

lol... yeah his flask probably was empty... seems to get that way pretty quickly. Umm... are kitties allowed into the club? Or does she sit in the car and join them as soon as they get out? Oh! Maybe Alex hides her in a bag or something, like a bowling ball bag... lol...
Okay I almost like that idea for stealing the kitty into 'no pet' zones, not that she is a pet... lol. Will have to be some cool kick *** bag, maybe with a skull on it. Wow that's almost too much like 'Mystery Men' hehe!
M.

>Edit< You know sometimes I should read all the previous posts before I post myself. lol. I would guess that a club for the gifted would allow a Bast, even a Common Bast. But the bag idea might still be viable for other less accepting places

Night club

this is a place where those with the gift and supernatural creatures (i.e. bast) can come and consider themselves safe. So, if Alex Sharpe is hunting Azezalites, then he would need to wait until they made their way outside of the club or prepare for consequences of attacking them inside of it.

Also, would their be anything to identify an Azezalite that you would be hunting?

Azazelites.

First, let me say that the Azazelites (or Cult of Azazel, if you prefer) are just a group that I came up with on the fly when scrawlign out Alex's original concept and backstory... Picked a random demon (well, not so random... I thought Azazel was a cool sounding name) and built the startings of a cult or dark coven around the info I was able to dig up on him/her/it...

That said, as the backstory and such has developed, I imagined that Azazelites (particularly those of the particular cult that Alex seems to be focused on) often have a penchant for extravagent jewelry and such (according to what I've read, the making of weapons and jewelry are supposedly crafts that the demon Azazel taught to humans, so I figured those things would tie in somehow). I had also figured that there may be a subtle tattoo or similar marking that members of the cult may take on at some stage in their 'devotion' aaand, lastly (where my original thoughts were concerned, anyway), I imagined that while most Azazelites are charming and physically attractive to no small degree that their essence is tainted by Azazel's influence and, as a result, the gifted may be able to 'see' that taint (via insight or something similar).

Anyway, as I said, the Azazelites are a quickly clumped together cult that I needed for Alex's backhistory and I have by no means solidified anything on them other than Alex holds them responsible for Emily's death... Feel free to take what I've got and manipulate as you will, Vesper. You're the chronicler, after all, and it's your game... I'd be happy, of course, to help out in any way that I can.

P.S. Alex might follow an Azazelite into a nightclub for the gifted but he'd certainly not confront him/her in such a public place... He'd wait for the Azazelite to leave, follow him/her out, tail them to an appropriate spot, and then try to kill them... very painfully....
