Just clarifying

Prajna is a mare, which makes her a her.

"Steed" works, since it doesn't specify gender anymore. It arose from "stud" and its archaic definition implies a male horse, but now it is simply a horse, especially a spirited one.

I'm a little OCD about pronouns sometimes... and verb agreement... and....

OK. So I promise I won't post in grammar-nazi mode for at least another 2 pages.

EDIT:
The spot checks are alternating between the house and the surrounding forest. It takes a standard action to keep detect evil up and running, and a move action to actively use the spot check, which is why only every other round. The "filler" rounds are spent moving.

Lol

Just went back through and reread the last batch of posts.

Even though he hums, he still manages to keep a high level of stealth in place.

I'm imagining something like Krunk's trip down to the river in The Emperor's New Groove combined with all the extraneous rolling and tumbling that Jason Nesmith does when they go down to the alien planet in Galaxy Quest.

character thoughts

To avoid any problems in the future that may arise out of thinking out loud, anyone who wants to post thoughts their character is having about another character, PM me with it instead of posting it in the game thread. Any "thoughts" PMed to me should be made as if you were posting normally in the game thread (in character).

thanks

Not to be a brat, but...

I don't want to start any trouble here. If the general consensus is to pm character thoughts I'll do it, but I find it much more interesting if everything is included in the game thread. What makes play by post interesting (to me anyway) is the ability to create a story, and seeing into a characters mind is a large part of what makes that story. I don't think characters having thoughts about one another in game is a bad thing at all, it adds flavor to the game.
Just my two cents.

i agree with you

.....but things being as they are, I'm just trying to keep the peace. Ive said it over and over again that there should be no transference between Player and Character. They should be kept separate. But, alas, very few listen and take the game too much to heart.
I'm just trying to avoid tit for tat.

Thoughts that characters have that are not about other characters (for example: "this foggy weather is really bothering me. Spooky too! Feels like something is going to jump out at me and I won't be able to see it before its too late", thought -enter character name here-) are welcome.

Size matters

How big is the house? I'm picturing something like 30' x 35'

Is it tall enough to potentially have a 2nd floor inside?

Same point of view

I am in agreement with Nimu. I know that I am not who my character is, and part of that is what my character thinks of those she is around.

Does this mean that we will never truly get to know what NPC's think as well unless they speak it out loud?

This could be difficult for me to be able to separate out from my writing. I will do my very best but please let me know if I am letting too much leak into my in game posts.

It feels like I am asked to take a pair of scissors to my entry and remove half of my characters opinions. I wont call it censorship exactly, but to let one or two people have that much control over the DM and the game experience as a whole kinda ruins the draw. I would never be able to read a whole book if I was not allowed to know what the characters in the book think of one another. It is what creates intrigue and conflict, something for the characters to overcome.

I do hope that things smooth out as we continue and that this will not be a permanent thing over the long haul. I would love to see each player given freedom to write unfettered and without concern for out of game repercussions. It would do you and your game justice Tiamat.

Applaud for you sir

Lol'd at your post gboy. "Oi! My job, **** off!"

He's never really had to deal with traps of a magical nature before, so he's a bit naive when it comes to the potential pain one can find by simply opening a door.

Hehe... yeah.

Well, if you liked that post, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy my latest as well. When he's low on blood, he's very prone to mood swings... and he's kinda hungry too.

For the record

The Bedine I am imagining have an Arabic sounding language and so her accent is mostly just softly rolled r's and other small indicators that common is not her first language.

Well...

If I don't get blood at least 1/day, then I need to make a save, or I become fatigued until I drink.

And if that continues for a week, then I need to make a save or become exhausted.

It's rough...

Oh, and not to mention the in character personality changes/mood swings.
