How did I miss these questions?

I thought I had checked the Q/A lately, but I have totally overlooked these comments. My apologies.

As an answer: I told you what these monsters were, but I would advise you not to look up their stats. I have implied somewhere that none of you have ever encountered the Ankheg before. Looking up their weaknesses so your character can use them goes against what we're trying to accomplish here. I can understand why you did it though, but such is not really the way to go.
If I tell you the name of a monster, it is so you can maybe get a better picture of him (because you've fought them before in other games perhaps, or because you know them by legend, or just so you can give whatever you are fighting a proper name instead of 'the monster that looks like a giant insect but it's definitely not a spider'. )

As for your chance of hitting them: you can trust me when it comes to combat. I am on your side and not looking to slaughter players unless they act utterly stupid or unless the dice are persistent in telling me they should receive critical hits. But you can do certain things to help yourself get a certain benefit (by flanking, or trying a shot at one of the creature's eyes f.i, but that is extremely hard).
And in any case, I think that the rulebook you have is an old one, 2nd edition I think, and things have changed since then.

Conclusive: you are free to use your books to look up images of monsters I give you, but please do not check the stats.

Wow, that could've been a lot shorter message after all.

Dragonblood, I will do my best to get a grid up, so you can all see where everybody is standing.

Grid is up on the first page of this Q/A, under the museum grid.

great!

Thanks a lot for putting up that grid Al, that definitely clears up things for me. I've been mad busy the last couple days, don't mean to hold anybody up. I'll try to put together something that resembles a post as soon as possible, but I can't guarantee anything for the time being, sorry. I will hopefully have one up in a week (plus change)'s time. Again sincere apologies, thank you for the assistance with the map, &c... it is much appreciated.

EDIT: Yep, so still looking for the time to post. Hopefully in a week's time... grrrrrr... So you know Almerin, aside from a character I must create, this game is my priority up here on the site. I will hammer out a post as soon as possible

poor guards

I wish Bohen had taken more notice of the one attacking the guards and that one of them is about to be dragged away.

Peripheral vision has two guards fighting one monster... they should be fine, right?

alright

Keeping things warm: I'm waiting on Dragonblood's post. Sent him a PM already because he was talking about a small delay. It's become a bigger delay. Still, I shouldn't complain because I pulled the same stunt a few weeks ago.

This is to keep you informed that the game is still going but there are some speedbumbs. Hopefully I'll be able to make an update for you all.

Hey Almerin and All, just swinging by to let you know that I am very sorry to have held you all up. This week turned out to be busier than I expected. A post will hopefully be up by the end of the weekend.

Again, apologies,

ok

I just updated the other part of this game, and I will do my best to update this one as well in this weekend. I'll NPC Dragonblood's character if he doesn't get a post in before I do. I think we've waited long enough.

indeed

and I'm sorry for it Almerin and all. Life threw me curveball after curveball, not necessarily all bad but all busy so I'm sorry I didn't have time to even post a notification. If you give me this week to attempt a post to get myself back in, that'd be lovely. If I don't make it I'll probably have to drop out but let me see what I can do. This game has brought me great joy and I don't plan on abandoning it so rapidly.

sure thing

I've been pretty busy myself this weekend, with family-visits and such, and with other things that took up time like that. So I can't blame you. I can wait, I hope the rest can too.

But: after my update on Saturday, I would very much like to try to fit a once a week posting schedule. I'm hoping for the same for the other group, since they've been lagging as well, but seem to have picked up the game again. Is everybody in for that?

...

Should be able to do that, yeah.

My only guaranteed free day each week is tuesday, if something comes up and the update doesn't happen till after that, I can't promise I'll be able to update until the following week though.

finally

Decided to stop waiting and post already. Dragonblood shouldn't have too much trouble backposting a bit, I would think.

Anyway, heavy update, and it's late. Hope there aren't too many errors in it.

Can everybody try to squeeze a post in before the easter weekend? So that's not coming Saturday, but the week after that. April 3rd I think.

Thanks for waiting Almerin, sorry I disappointed again. I hate to keep everyone waiting here. I'm glad you went ahead and wrote the update I'd rather have a game still moving which I can backpost into than a dead game I've got the time for.

I really enjoyed the update, nice work Al. I'm looking to post soon. I've been kind of screwed over for time the last months. This week is busy but you've all been very patient and giving so I can bite the bullet and hammer out a post soon. Thanks again everybody, I really enjoy this game!

Cool

Good news, not about being busy, but about posting. I'm curious to see what will be happening next.

updated

I've updated the game. I don't know what happened to Dragonblood. Does anybody? I included Odin in this post but I hope he'll be able to pick up soon.

In any case, I think I'll be asking around for somebody to join your group. You need an extra pair of hands and I don't really like NPCing a character.

We'll see what happens. You're all facing a decision now. Good luck!
