Search and Spot Check For Rauno

Besk came by looking for them and I told her they were probably with you guys. She has a small package for Rauno. Can you deliver it to them? The mayor points in the corner to a small box wrapped and sealed.

"Madam Mayor, unfortunately they were not with us. I will be happy to deliver this gift to Rauno when we next see him. Aust and I are anxious to find the siblings and discuss our run-in with the goblins. I take it you have no idea where they are? If not, we will check with the gate guards to see if they have gone somewhere."

First, we check the Rusty Dragon Inn. If no sign, we ask the gate guards at all the gates if they've seen Rauno and Esmerelda pass in the last day or so.

Ameiko Kajitsu nods at farlanh as he asks about the whereabouts of Esmerelda and Rauno. I too was wondering where they could be. Rauno was supposed to be back here by now .. but he has not returned She looks nervous and continues I know that they set out on horseback several days ago to locate a late shipment of goods but never returned. I too had merchandise on this shipment that never arrived. We sent out a patrol two days ago and they reported a burned up area but no human bones among the ashes. I sure hope they are ok. I'm sure they are ... Pausing again to reassure herself, she adds Let me know if you find them ..

Ameiko, What direction was the wagon coming from? Did the patrol state where they found the burnt wagon? I'd like to head out and search for them. Perhaps we will have better luck than the patrol - Aust is a fair tracker.

Aust - go pull together some equipment. I'm low on rations and water. Horses would be good too. I'll put together some goodberries for us and perhaps the siblings.

A ways south of the city ... but it has been a couple of days and there has been rain. If your friends were there .. I don't know if you will be able to find them but I encourage you to try .. and to make haste. You can take some horses from the stables to aid you.

Aust, I'll meet you at the gate to the South road, just outside the walls. I will have to get these animals used to Sly being around and gather some fresh berries, it shouldn't take but a few hours. In that time, you can ensure we have adequate food from the market - and perhaps a few healing potions.

Farlanh takes his leave of the Inn's owner and heads out to the stables. He prepares the horses for quick travel, and instructs Sly in how to behave around the horses not to scare them.

"Sounds good Farlanh, but make it quick. I have a feeling we need to be on our way."

"You're goona have to through me some gold if you want any potions, I'm running low a the moment. We may be fine. I am happy to grab some natural supplies as we travel as well."

"I'll be waiting by the gate."

Aust hurries to replenish his arrows and grab a few other handy items before making his way to the gate by the South road.

Taking off down the southern road, Aust and Farlanh eventually come to the spot. Although it has rained and much of the burned caravan has been moved over to the side of the roadway, it was easy to spot the debris. Looking around quickly, Aust hops off his horse and begins to search the area for any signs of tracks. The recent rain makes it extremely difficult, but Aust is confident that with enough time he may discover some information. Farlanh dismounts more slowly and calms the horses. The bony skeletons of the horses from the caravan are unsettling to the eyes. Farlanh looks towards the woods searching for anything in that direction. Everywhere else the land is flat and wide and the opposite side of the road leads towards the ocean.
