Oh plan B :)

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, Inside "The Honeydew", 8:25 PM PT

"Ok wow, well ma'am I have never been to a place like this before to be honest. I'm new on planet and been on ship for months now and I heard of this place and ahhh thought I'd come over. Ahhh what's a rind?"

The lady looked back at Fenris and smiled, "It's an expression, Sugar. Don't worry about it. Honey, you give this to Earl at the bar and ask for Clementine. She'll show you what's what." She locked up the weapons and put the box away, handing the key over to the mechanic along with a white chip, like for a poker game." First ride is free, after that, it is up to you." And with that she pressed a button under the counter that buzzed the huge steel door open.

First thing Fenris was quick to note as he made his way in, were the four men with rifles at the corners of the second level, watching the crowd. All dressed in the same flannel shirts and vests, denoting that they worked here as security. A man was working behind the bar, with a bowler hat and a fine mustache.

Making his way to the bar first it was not hard at all to spot Bart. He was in a booth with two ladies, wearing a white shirt, completely unbuttoned and black pants. Fenris could see as described he was a big man, extremely muscular with many black tattoos of geometric patterns. As the mechanic sat himself at the bar he could tell Bart's attention was on the ladies and enjoying their attention back at him. Yet there was something, off, about the whole thing something stirring in the back of his head yet not fully taking shape.

As the bartender moved to him Fenris smiled and ordered a Ng-Ka-Pei, as he sipped it finding it quite good in taste. Ordering a second he placed it by his arm as he turned to watch Whitefalls reigning champ as he went about charming the ladies. Watching for any tell all's he could use against the big fighter in a fight. Was he a lefty or righty, did he look like a bruiser or a thinker? It had been told to Fenris that Bart liked to charge in and mangle his foes putting him in the bruiser column. However, having been a fighter for so long himself, in a ring far worse then Whitefall's, Fenris knew without having seen Bart fight himself, everything told to him about his fighting style was hearsay.

As Fenris sipped the second of his drinks watching Bart in the large mirror behind the bar he quickly took note of another familiar face as well. Duncan, the man Fenris had met out on the range was here as well, and armed, the only person besides the guards to be so. Seated as he was, away from Bart, but where he could keep an eye on the fighter. With him was also seated a lady who could have been Duncan's girlfriend or another escort. Though it all looked ok something tugged at Fenris's mind, something was off.

However with Duncan on sight, Fenris looked around realizing that a lot of Patience's "deputies" were also here, it was clear to Fenris that plan A, moving to meet Bart and see his threshold of anger, was out of the question. It would not do to find himself in Whitefalls jail on fight night.

As he started to turn his attention once again back to Bart, his head snapped back to Duncan as it suddenly clicked why things seemed off at his table. The girl sitting with him, somehow, was made up to resemble the girl that the Doctor had snuck upon the ship - Chloe.

Wuo duh MA

Fighting down a first thought urge to get up and just walk away, Fenris knew if anything, that would tip off his intent to gain a look at Bart and not a "what's what" from Clementine. Feeling the white chip in his pocket Fenris smiled to himself in irony. Though he had not intended to use said chip, it had been some time since his impromptu liaison with the female mechanic. Though not one to seek out the services of professional ladies it might be ok just this once to keep his presence straight forward as a guy looking for someone to "hold".

Calling to Earl he showed the white chip, said Clementine's name, and for the moment tried to just relax......

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, Outside of "The Slaughterhouse", 8:30 PM PT

Asher noticed the slight tear in the woman's eye, "I gotta stow this stuff out it the mule,. You know it was look'n like a fine night out there, a person might find their soul in the stars,.,I could use some company and maybe get showed the town a bit. It'd be nice to have fine lady as yourself to be that one,.would ya come for a walk with me?" The kid gave her sheepish smile and a little nod of his toward the door. She looked at Asher, then to the bottle and then back at Asher and followed him to the door.
As they walked out Ash tried to catch Dash's eye..lifting Wolf's gear slightly to let him know he was taking it out to the mule.

"What's your name?" she asked.

Tipping his hat politely, "Asher,, Talhone, the crew usually just calls me Ash."

She nodded, "I'm Colleen. Colleen MacPherson." As they exited the bar, the night air was cold and refreshing, while the night sky was clear and full of stars. "I'm the pilot on Morgan Creek, a salvage hauler, Devon class. What you fly in on?"

"It's a pleasure to meet ya Collen,,. We come in on a firefly transport,. was deliver'n some bees so we're out there by the ranch,, I guess ya'd say I'm the deckhand,.do most anything Capt'n needs but fly it."

The guy you saw who was kicked out? That was Nelson O'Reilly, the engineer on our boat. My boyfriend, well ex-boyfriend now. I don't know how I'm gonna fly out with him now. You need a pilot?"
"Things been a bit slow lately and we got a full crew,.I'll tell the Capt'n you're look'n but it ain't too likely."

"What a gorram mess! We been together for a year now and he is acting all strange like. You know how hard it is to keep a secret on a small boat right? Well I knew he'd bought a ring and was planning to pop the question. But the damn BUN tyen-shung duh ee-DWAY-ROBUN tyen-shung duh ee-DWAY-RO loses his nerve, gets drunk and has a fling with a barmaid the night before he plans on asking!!! Shee-niou FAY-FAY duh PEE-yen!!!! Go tsao de Liou coe shway duh biao-tze huh hoe-tze duh ur-tze!! Ching-wah TSAO duh liou mahng! " She curses loudly and then smiles sheepishly at Asher. "Sorry. The drink makes my tongue a bit liberal."

"S'ok,..hell I've been in the black long enough them's just words,.ya gotta get'um out sometimes or they can rot ya from inside,."

Ash stowed Fenris's gear in Roc's mule and locked them away safe. "Well it's still a pretty night.. I can keep quiet'n listen to ya liberal tongue all you need." The two started to walking into town.

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, "The Slaughterhouse", 8:40 PM PT
So, this is what I'm conjurin' up," Wyatt said, "Eight hun'red plus the drums already on the table an' an additional five hun'red should there be a need t' engage in any kind o' cowboyin' plus the cost o' any munitions spent in yer service. Hazard pay, dohn ma?"

"If ya wanna kick it up to an even thousand," Sam interjected, "I figger I could see to it as we get there quiet-like." He shrugged a little. "It'd take an extra day but we'd keep off the scanners an' outta the sight o' any pryin' eyes, get me?"

At the moment of your counteroffer, Saul's face loses it composure. It is like you slapped him hard and he is reeling with the need to recover. All hope and dreams drain from his face and you are left feeling like you told him that his dog just died. He recovers quickly though and laughs, a ruefully self- depreciating kinda of laugh, and motions over to a table that is emptying.

"Shall we sit down, Gentlemen?" Her ask politely while taking a seat and setting his drink down, "First off I am not one of those Potters. Well technically I am but they cut me off and disowned me back when I joined the independence side over the alliance. If I was still in their good graces, I would gladly pay you what you asked."

(knowledge check for both of you - The Potters are one of the richest families in the central planets. Major shareholders of Blue Sun Inc. and other major industrial manufacturers through the verse. Bromern and Eol - check you PM for additional info)

"That being said, I never fault a man for wanting to make enough money to feed their family and keep them safe. In many ways it is what I've being doing ever since the war ended. I've the mind you been doing the same despite what the news vids say about your recent professional protection. As a good friend of mine says, ‘alliance lies to suit their needs' so I am going a bit on faith with you. Hell, I survived on less before.

"But I digress. Let's be truthful here so we can come to an agreement. I don't have more than 500 to give you at the start and I can only spare 5 drums. Unless your man who just left can actually beat Bart in the ring, I have no way to gather more funds between now and tomorrow when we leave. But, there are funds where we are going, if you can wait a tic. I can easily offer you another 1000 on Pegasus, bullets flying or not, but I am looking for quiet like and off the scanners in two days." He says holding two fingers up for emphasis. "Now I believe you are up to that challenge if half of what I hear about you is true. Also, Pegasus is in its apogee so that will cut down the flight time. Now we get there, there is an opportunity to make double what I am offering but I can't speak of that until we get there and it won't make your alliance friends happy. So if this ain't your cup of tea, well I am happy to pay for your drinks and call it a day. What do you say?"

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, Inside "The Honeydew", 8:40 PM PT
Stymied in his attempt to get more on Bart, Wolf handed his chip to Earl and asked for Clementine. Earl smiled broadly as he took it and pressed a buzzer under the counter. "You're in for a treat, friend" he said and then gestured to the rack of spirits behind him, "Miss Pennyfeather is one of the best. Another Ng-Ka-Pei?"

Clementine Pennyfeather

Clementine Pennyfeather comes down the stairs with a slight coy smile on her face, dressed in a fancy blue dress, cut very high in front to show off thigh-high stockings and a peek at her bare legs. There is something perfectly beguiling about her, as if every aspect of her was made for seduction. She comes to the bottom of the stairs and smiles at Wolf, "Welcome Newcomer." She says in a voice like an angel with a hint of a colonial accent, "Care to follow me? My, you are a big one, aren't you? Are they all big like you back home or are you just extraordinary?"

(Assuming some conversation as you go upstairs with her)

She lets you into the room. It is tastefully decorated with a king size bed, four poster with canopy and a few outfits on display of various designs and suggestion. She closed the door behind her and asks, "Were you looking for quick and easy or did you want the full hour? I don't mind either way but you look like you might want to linger a bit. Oh, and just cause your new, if you lay a hand on me the wrong way, there are men outside that can be here in two seconds and they won't ask questions before they lay you out. "

(Assuming some conversation. Keep it PG please)

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, Outside of "The Slaughterhouse", 8:40 PM PT
"S'ok,..hell I've been in the black long enough them's just words,.ya gotta get'um out sometimes or they can rot ya from inside,."

Ash stowed Fenris's gear in Roc's mule and locked them away safe. "Well it's still a pretty night.. I can keep quiet'n listen to ya liberal tongue all you need." The two started to walking into town.

Whether it is by nature or years of being on guard, but Asher always keeps an eye out, even with a pretty lady. He notices that a man is outside the Slaughterhouse, across the street and watching the door. He ain't wearing a badge but something about the stance and the thigh slung holster makes Ash think this is one of Patience's deputy. He isn't watching Ash or Colleen though, he is just keeping an eye on the doorway.

"You ain't like most guys are you?" Colleen asks, "Most guys just want to get under my shirt as fast as possible."

(assuming some response)

"So what am I to do now? I love Nelson. I really do but now he gone and screwed it up royally. Part of me wants to forgive him and pretend it never happened and another parts knows I can never trust him again. Why do men always cheat? Tell me?"

(assuming some very evasive response)

"Hell I ain't sure I'm even the marrying type. I've been true to Nelson but I thought about stepping out once or twice. Hell, 20 minutes ago I was fully intending on making you a happy man for a night. So I'm just as bad right?

(assuming some response)

"Maybe I tell Nelson, that is it. He humps who he wants and I jump my own. Fair is fair, we stay friends right?"

(assuming some response)

"No, I don't want that though,." She starts crying again.

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, Rocinante, 8:40 PM PT
Mrs. Wilson smiled, "Well I have a cousin working a farm on the southern end of Bellerophon continent. She said she could take Chloe in and the baby. She can even give you some credits for all your trouble when you get there."

"I'll tell the Captain that. Send me the coordinates so we know where to go and I will let you know what he says. I am not asking for money but the Captain may appreciate a contribution to the fuel costs."

Chloe awoke suddenly, "I ain't leaving Petrie." She said groggily.

"Chloe, dear, Petrie is not gonna help you." Mrs. Wilson admonished.

"You don't know him. He hates his dad. Wants to be his own person. He loves me and wants to do right by me."

"Oh they all say that Chloe. Trust me, Petrie won't defy his father."

"Perhaps we should ask first?" Stephanie interjected.

"What?" Mrs. Wilson exclaimed, "Ask? You'll endanger Chloe if you speak to them!"

"I am aware of the dangers Mrs. Wilson but you are working on assumptions that may not be true. We can not just discount the father without attempting to speak to him. Surely we can create some form of subterfuge to speak to Petrie in confidence?"

"Men can not be trusted in my experience." Mrs. Wilson pronounced.

"Yes. I got the impression that was your way of thinking. Tell me, where does this boy live? Where does he hang out for fun? I am sure that between the two of us, I can find a way to reach him without confrontation of the authorities."

Potter? Of the Londinum Potters?

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, "The Slaughterhouse", 8:40 PM PT

"Eight hun'red plus the drums already on the table an' an additional five hun'red should there be a need t' engage in any kind o' cowboyin'," came Wyatt's counteroffer, "plus the cost o' any munitions spent in yer service. Hazard pay, dohn ma?"

"If ya wanna kick it up to an even thousand, I figger I could see to it as we get there quiet-like." Sam interjected with a faint shrug, "It'd take an extra day but we'd keep off the scanners an' outta the sight o' any pryin' eyes, get me?"

Just about that moment, Potter looked like he'd been kicked in the nethers and, internally, Dash couldn't help but wince right along with him. It seemed the price might be way out of reach from what the sickly looking man might be able to pay and, if that was the case, between them, Wyatt and Sam might have just humped themselves out of a job,

Miss Will probly'd've had this old fart eatin' outta her hand, the pilot thought, imagining that Potter was likely to take his business elsewhere, an' likely woulda come in at a price closer ta what he was hopin', I reckon.
He tipped the glass to his lips, again, in an attempt to mask the vaguely disappointed smirk that had begun to form there, and his eyes ticked back toward the brunette he'd noticed a minute ago. Behind the rim of the glass, Sam's dejected expression got a bit of a nudge in the direction of something more hopeful when, for a second or so, the woman's eyes locked to his for a second and then, somewhat coyly, tore away.

Ni how, bao bei, he mentally purred at the woman, a mildly salacious expression playing at the corners of his mouth as the glass came away. He was about to excuse himself from what he thought would turn out to be failed negotiations and plot his course for negotiations of another sort. Just as he turned his gaze back to Wyatt to get his okay, though, Potter seemed to recover from the shock of their counter-offer and laughs, a ruefully self- depreciating kind of laugh,

"Shall we sit down, gentlemen," he suggested politely, motioning to an emptying table.

Dash wasn't sure whether to be disappointed that the man seemed interested in continuing the negotiations or not. Work was work, of course, but, at the same time, it'd been a spell since he'd had a good grapple, Yeah, he sighed to himself, flicking a doleful glance of his own back at the brunette as he follows Wyatt and Potter to the table, an' it'll be a ruttin' sight longer if'n ya don' get some money in yer pocket, too, Sammy. The fact that he caught her eyes on him again, just then (even if they did quickly flit away), gave him a bit of hope, though, and, as he reached the table and claimed a seat for himself, Sam's smile was a bit more than amicable.

"First off," Saul confessed as the three men settled in their seats, "I am not one of those Potters. Well technically I am but they cut me off and disowned me back when I joined the independence side over the alliance. If I was still in their good graces, I would gladly pay you what you asked,"

Dash's brows raise in momentary confusion at this but, after a moment of picking his brain, realization dawns on him, Big name in the Core, Potter, Major share-holders in Blue Sun, That was about all the pilot could coax from his memories. If he'd heard anything else about the Potters or Saul in particular, it hadn't been important enough (or recent enough) for him to have recalled.

",I never fault a man for wanting to make enough money to feed their family and keep them safe. In many ways it is what I've being doing ever since the war ended. I've the mind you been doing the same despite what the news vids say about your recent professional protection," Potter was saying, snatching Dash away from combing his mind for recollections. "As a good friend of mine says, ‘alliance lies to suit their needs' so I am going a bit on faith with you. Hell, I survived on less before,."

"Seems t' be a recurrin' ruttin' theme, puhn yoh," Sam muttered, offering a nod. His gaze fell away from the man, regarded the diminishing contents of his glass, and then, once more, fleetingly met the eyes of the brunette across the bar.

",But I digress," Potter continued as Sam grinned in response to the girl's quickly averted gaze and let his own attentions return to their potential client, "Let's be truthful here so we can come to an agreement.

Sam sucked a sharp breath between his teeth and his face contorted into an expression that might be mistaken for uncertainty. As if to emphasize (or, more precisely, punctuate) that, the pilot picked his glass up from the table and shot the rest of it's contents down his throat. "I dunno where yer schoolin' in navigation er pilotin' might fall, Potter Shian Shen," he winced in the wake of that swallow of whiskey, "but at an even burn from here ta Bellerophon on standard routes'll take most boats two an' a half, mebbe th' better part o' three days. Ghostin' it, typical's gonna add an extra day er two fer yer av'rage pilot what's worth a hump,"

He sighed, eyes sliding away from Potter to regard the bottom of his now empty glass. "‘Course, I ain't yer av'rage pilot," he added with a grin, his gaze lifting, now, to regard Wyatt, "an' Roc ain't yer av'rage boat. Plus, fifteen hun'erd ain't nothin' ta scratch yer nethers over, I'll need ta do some figgerin', Cap, an' we'll be burnin' hard an' shifty, but I reckon I c'n get us there in two, on th' down-low. May cost us some extra boodle in maintenance in th' end an' it won't be no ruttin' pleasure cruise but I c'n make it happen."

Sam shrugged and, lifting his empty glass, got to his feet. "I'm empty, ag'in," he announced needlessly, clapping Wyatt on the shoulder, "Yer boat, Wyungsung, yer haggle from here. I'ma go get topped off," he waved the empty glass in the direction of the bar, first, then, with a not-so-discrete nod toward the brunette he'd been eyeing, added, "an' then mebbe get m'self topped off, get me?"

((OOC: So, as usual, room for interruptions/interjections throughout. If Wyatt doesn't object to Sam excusing himself, at this point, Dash will make for the bar where he'll order another drink for himself and one for the brunette. Assuming no interruptions or questions from Wyatt and Potter to that point, he'll take the drinks he's ordered and swagger over to introduce himself to the lovely!))

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, "The Slaughterhouse", 8:40 PM PT

Hints of discomfort at Saul's momentary loss of composure play in the regulated corners of Wyatt's mouth where only those who know him best will be likely to recognize the emotion. When a man is down to the wire, strapped, and at the edge of hope he becomes dangerous. While the crew live constantly on the intersection of Danger and Boredom, each require a different set of skills to cope and knowing this man's disposition allows the captain to more adeptly consider his angle.

Potter recovers quickly though and laughs, a ruefully self-deprecating kind of laugh, and motions over to a table that is emptying.

"Shall we sit down, Gentlemen?" He asks politely while taking a seat and setting his drink down.

Wyatt shifts to his outside foot and sedately accomplishes a similar action; silent while Saul Potter continues his explanation and Sam adjusts to a seat while smiling all friendly-like, "First off, I am not one of those Potters. Well, technically, I am but they cut me off and disowned me back when I joined the Independence side over the Alliance. If I was still in their good graces, I would gladly pay you what you asked."

Those Potters, Sung is flung back to a news feed he had come across during the War missing his pilot's reaction altogether. Saul Potter, Traitor, the headline had read. Reporters had eaten the story up. One of the ‘Verse's wealthiest families; a son gone rogue; deception, embezzlement, and betrayal—the media sank their teeth into the story with the fervor of a starving man and the Public, well, the Public looked at it with decadent pleasure for the most part no matter which side of the War they were on.

Hell, I survived on less before."

"Seems t' be a recurrin' ruttin' theme, puhn yoh," Sam mutters, offering a nod. His gaze fell away from the man, regarded the diminishing contents of his glass, and then, once more, fleetingly met the eyes of the brunette across the bar.

Saul worked fer someone on the Independence side after. Who was that? Wyatt ignores Dash's comment and continues to rack his brain trying to shake the information loose while he continues to listen to the man's tale.

I can easily offer you another 1000 on Pegasus, bullets flying or not, but I am looking for quiet like and off the scanners in two days," He says holding two fingers up for emphasis.

Sam sucks a sharp breath between his teeth and his face contorts into an expression that might be mistaken for uncertainty. As if to emphasize (or, more precisely, punctuate) that, the pilot picks his glass up from the table and shoots the rest of its contents down his throat. "I dunno where yer schoolin' in navigation er pilotin' might fall, Potter Shian Shen," he winces in the wake of that swallow of whiskey, "but at an even burn from here ta Bellerophon on standard routes'll take most boats two an' a half, mebbe th' better part o' three days. Ghostin' it, typical's gonna add an extra day er two fer yer av'rage pilot what's worth a hump,"
Wyatt's narrow-eyed scrutiny shifts to his skilled friend as Sam sighs, eyes sliding away from Potter to regard the bottom of his now empty glass.

"‘Course, I ain't yer av'rage pilot," Sam Dash adds with a grin, his gaze lifting, now, to regard Wyatt, "an' Roc ain't yer av'rage boat.

Sam shrugs and, lifting his empty glass, regains his feet. "I'm empty, ag'in," he announces needlessly, clapping Wyatt on the shoulder, "Yer boat, Wyungsung, yer haggle from here. I'ma go get topped off," he waves the empty glass in the direction of the bar, first, then, with a not-so-discrete nod toward the brunette he's been eyeing, adds, "an' then mebbe get m'self topped off, get me?"

There is it, Wyatt uses Sam's exit to roll in his seat and drape his left arm over the back of the chair while dropping his eyes thoughtfully to the warm reflections on the tabletop. Saul Potter, kinda an icon o' the War, needin' assistance an' ‘ere we sit capable o' providin' it while cleanin' this Lián méng stench off o' us. Lifting his head, Captain Sung allows his head to drift and follow Sam's progress to the bar. His friend and pilot thinks he can pull it off, and Sung isn't too far removed from that endeavor to know that such suppositions are risky at best even with the man's skillset. A promise like this would be difficult to see through and Roc's crew would have to perform at their very best for the whole of it. Fifteen hun'erd ain't nothin' t' scratch yer nethers over, indeed, But what will the price be for such a haul? What's waiting on Pegasus? Is it too much to think that Saul Potter still has connections with Independance leanings? Could this be a way to stick it to the Alliance? The War's over, he reminds himself while at the same time refusing to admit the swelling in his chest.

Have we been through the Three yet? he ponders, thinking back over their string of recent luck. The crew is either just on the end of the Bad, or just beginning the Good, Wyatt Sung hopes that it's the latter.

"Mr. Potter," the captain turns to address their potential patron and look him straight in the eye, "You got yerself transport. Rocinante is currently at Eagle Eye's ranch. Do you need her elsewhere t' load up, an' when're you wantin' t' clear atmo?"

Let's get clean, the xi niu Alliance is crampin' my style.

Pillow Talk

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, Inside "The Honeydew", 10:25 PM PT
Fenris's first sight of Clementine, as she walked down the stairs, reminded him of a girl he had once known in a long ago town called Westworld. Though he was not a person to pay for a lady Fenris had to admit that the lady taking his hand was quite beautiful.

"Hi I'm Clementine"

"I'm Fenris nice to meet you" Though the big mechanic was no stranger to carnal encounters, he still found himself a little nervous.

"Nice to meet you too, want to come with me?"

"Yes ma'am"

"Ma'am," A soft giggle escapes her lips" Lords no need to call me that, just call me Clementine, or just Tiny for short."

As they both moved up the stairs, Clementine leading, Fenris could not help but look over at Bart, then Duncan, to see if they had taken notice of him. Then acting as if he had no more interest he followed Clementine into the 3rd room.

(Few hours later?)

Laying with Clementine in his arms in a soft cuddle Fenris talked in a casual conversation.

"Thank you Miss Clementine you were quite nice" A slight blush on his cheeks.

(Presume she says thank you and asks about me being new in town)

"Yeah working with Eagle Eye, needed the money" Though he felt no threat Fenris was not going to reveal too much of his plans to challenge Bart.

(Her response)

"So whats the tale of the big guy with the two girls. Heard tell he is some kind of champ or something?"........

Noodles......?

"Well I ain't most guys,I do like being with girls, but it ain't much to hit and run, gotta be enjoyed by all."

"So what am I to do now? I love Nelson. I really do but now he gone and screwed it up royally. Part of me wants to forgive him and pretend it never happened and another parts knows I can never trust him again. Why do men always cheat? Tell me?"

"Well,,,," Lucky for Ash she wasn't really listening.

"Hell I ain't sure I'm even the marrying type. I've been true to Nelson but I thought about stepping out once or twice. Hell, 20 minutes ago I was fully intending on making you a happy man for a night. So I'm just as bad right?"

"Well,,,,,."

"Maybe I tell Nelson, that is it. He humps who he wants and I jump my own. Fair is fair, we stay friends right?"

"Well,,,,,,.."

"No, I don't want that though,." She starts crying again.

Asher walked a little bit closer to Collen, not sure what to do he just softly said, "You know it would be nice to get some noodles,.do you know where they serve some good noodles? Noodles would be good right about now,,". Colleen gave him a raised eyebrow.

strolling.

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, Inside "The Honeydew", 10:00 PM PT
Duncan watches Wolf go upstairs, more with a curious eye than one that is tracking you. He doesn't nod or acknowledge the mechanic in any way.

Clementine is more companionable than most women in her trade, especially a backwater planet like Whitefall. She is good, doesn't rush you and knows how to please so an hour with her feels like an entire evening and a short spell at the same time. She is less "rip, tear, fling" and more "unlace, undo and sashay". She is a bit shocked at Wolf's tattoo on his back and doesn't know what Perdition is, but comments that the body art looks like it was most painful to get. While it may not be the best experience of Wolf's life, it will certain rank among the top three for awhile. Laying with Clementine in his arms in a soft cuddle Fenris talked in a casual conversation.

"Thank you Miss Clementine you were quite nice." A slight blush on his cheeks.

"Thank you but I was trying to be more naughty than nice." She laughs shyly and slyly at the same time. "You just make atmo? What brings you to our corner of the verse?"

"Yeah, working with Eagle Eye, needed the money." Though he felt no threat Fenris was not going to reveal too much of his plans to challenge Bart.

"Oh yeah? Eagle Eye is a good man. You can't do better than him on this rock. More than I can say for most."

"So whats the tale of the big guy with the two girls? Heard tell he is some kind of champ or something." Wolf asks coyly, or as coyly as any straight shooter could.

"Bart? He's one of Patience's men. I'm sure you heard of our dear governor. Bart is supposedly a ranch hand but it's an open secret that he don't do nothing except train and fight for her in the ring." She looks at Wolf with a sudden realization, "You planning on fighting him? Oh honey, don't. You have such a nice face, I'd hate to see it mashed up."

"I was just curious seeing we are about the same size and I'm new in town I'm worried he might try to get me to fight him." Pausing to smile "After all I'm a lover not a fighter. Well Miss Clementine you were amazing and don't be surprised if you see me again." Kissing her hand, Fenris quickly dressed.

Clementine made a face of dubiousness and disbelief. "Men." She sighed, "Listen. Bart was injured about six months back - equipment snapped on him, broke a rib on his left side and he favours it slightly." She drew a line across Wolf's left ribcage as he tugged on his shirt. "Now Patience had him taken care of and I ain't saying it will help but , well there you go. " She said with a shrug, "Just protect your face."

OOC: Note that Wolf is ahead of the rest in time now by an hour

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, "The Slaughterhouse", 9:00 PM PT
"Mr. Potter," the captain turns to address their potential patron and look him straight in the eye, "You got yerself transport. Rocinante is currently at Eagle Eye's ranch. Do you need her elsewhere t' load up, an' when're you wantin' t' clear atmo?"

Saul smiles widely and offers his hand to shake on the deal. "Tomorrow night, late, after the fights have ended which should be around 10ish." He started moving items on the table around. The warehouse is where they do the fights, and it draws a crowd. A big one. Near the warehouse is a junkyard. If you park on the far side of the yard - there's an open field there among some trees. We can all meet, gather up your people from the fight and my people with their stuff and get out asap. I'll be at the warehouse, I'll pay you the five then, but my people will be packing up and tying up the loose ends."

(any questions)

Sam ordering a refill for himself and another of "whatever she's drinkin'." Kim pours a tall glass of the cheapest whiskey as the "for her". Then, both drinks in hand, he'll approach the brunette and, setting the drink down in front of her, say something like "Ni how, darlin'... Ya look's if ya c'n use this. Name's Dash..."

She looks up and smiles prettily, "Why thank you Dash. Is that your first name, last name or you're so poor you could only afford one name?" She laughs heartily and takes the drink, downing half in a single swing. "I'm Michelle, but everyone calls me Misty. Misty Knowles." She motions to the chair beside her, "Take a load off."

(assuming Dash sits and makes conversation)

"I ain't see you before. You with Eagle-Eye? Good man to work for, wish I was so lucky. What's you business on Whitefall? I can never fathom people coming out this go sa rock willingly. I was born here so that's my ball and chain but what's yours?"

Play Misty for me!

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, "The Slaughterhouse", 9:00 PM PT

With the conversation between Wyatt and Potter continuing at his back, Sam janders away from the table and, in a few steps, finds himself at the bar, again. Kim raises a brow as the pilot props himself against the counter, both elbows resting on the polished wood, and nudges his empty glass across to the tender's side.

"One more, if ya don' mind, puhn yoh," Sam requests and, motioning at the brunette he's been eyeing, adds; "an' another o' whatever she's drinkin', qing (please)."

The pilot's gaze drifts back to the woman as Kim sets about refilling his glass and, then, pours a tall glass of the cheapest well whiskey for her. "Xie xie," Sam nods, taking up both glasses when the bartender slides them over. Now, with a neat double of good stuff in one hand and a tall glass of rot-gut in the other, he ambles toward the brunette's table and sets the tall glass down in front of her.

"Ni hao, darlin'," he grins his best fly-boy grin as the pretty little thing lifts her big, beautiful eyes and smiles, "Ya look's if ya c'n use this, Name's Dash,"

"Why thank you, Dash," she says, her voice as smooth and smoky as the whiskey in his own glass, "Is that your first name, last name, or're you so poor you could only afford the one?" She laughs at her own joke, then, and further snares the pilot's heart (or, at least, his nethers) by downing half the glass in a single swallow.

"Bao bei," Sam chuckles, "there's some folk says I'm too poor to pay attention. Still an' all, I ain't so broke as t' only afford the one name. First name's Sam. Paid good money fer both that'n an' th' last. You can call me whatever ya ruttin' like, though."

Her face lights up with a smile as bright as a crescent moon in the dark over Pinedale. "I'm Michelle," she purrs by way of introduction, "but everyone calls me Misty. Misty Knowles." She motions to the chair beside her, then; "Take a load off."

"‘Preciate it," Dash nods, not bothering to move the proffered seat so much as a millimeter farther away from her before he settles himself in. "Well, darlin', jus' lookin' at ya's got me all misty, so I c'n see as why tha's wha' they call ya. Who'm I ta break tradition, right?" He lifts his own glass to his lips, and lets his gaze slide away from her only long enough to verify that things are still ku with Wyatt and Potter.

((Assuming they are,))

"I ain't seen you before," Misty says as Dash swallows and his eyes return to meet hers, "You with Eagle-Eye?"

"Yup," the pilot nods, "after a fashion, I reckon."

"Good man to work for," Misty says, as Dash rolls his glass lazily between his hands, "wish I was so lucky.

So, what's your business on Whitefall," she asks, scarcely leaving Sam enough time to nod a response to her previous statement, "I can never fathom people coming out to this go sa rock, willingly. I was born here," she adds with a faint shrug of her pretty little shoulders, "so that's my ball and chain. What's yours?"

"All balls an' no chain, sweetheart," Sam winks playfully. "Me an' mine come out here on a haul fer Eagle-Eye," He takes another quick swig from his glass, eyes never leaving hers, and continues with a chuckle; ",wong bah duhn hired us ta ferry him some gorram bees ‘cross th' Verse fer ‘im. Frozen ruttin' bee's, fer humps sake! Know how hard it is ta concentrate on flyin' when yer perpetual frettin' ‘bout them li'l sumbitches thawin' out an' swarmin' yer pi guh? Ain't been that bunched up in months!"

He offers another chuckle, his eyes finally breaking from hers, again, to slowly wander down to her feet and, just as slowly, back up again. He doesn't fail to notice the pistol slung at her hip but doesn't linger long enough at her feet to have determined if there might be a blade or two secreted away in her boots, Ain't lookin' ta fight ‘er, no how, Besides, most ever' other body in this place's carryin', Don' reckon it matters none, The tip of his tongue dances across his lips as their eyes meet, again, and he forces it back into his mouth with another sip of whiskey. "So," he says, wincing slightly at the burn of the whiskey in his throat, "Ya ain't never been off-world, huh? Not even once?"

((Assuming a no of some sort,))

Dash's eyes widen a bit. His expression obviously stating that the concept of being planet-bound for the entirety of one's life is completely alien to him, Hell, he thinks in the midst of a befuddled blink, th' two years er so I spent landlocked on Jiangyin drove me half stir-crazy. How's a body do tha' fer, His eyes ran over her, again, assessing this time, as if it was the first time (and, truth be told, it was) that he'd even bothered to consider Misty's age, What are ya? Twenty-five, mebbe?
He blinks again, his disbelieving eyes, snapping back to hers. "Hell, girl," Sam grins, "ya ever even seen the inside of a transport?"

((OOC: Okay, think I'll stop there. Don't want to assume too much. Should Misty confess that, no, she's never even seen the inside of a spaceship, I figure Dash will respond with a somewhat suggestive lifting of his brows and a "Wanna?"))

Saul smiles widely and offers his hand to shake on the deal, which Wyatt accepts. "Tomorrow night, late, after the fights have ended, which should be around ten-ish." He starts moving items on the table around. "The warehouse is where they do the fights, and it draws a crowd. A big one. Near the warehouse is a junkyard. If you park on the far side of the yard—there's an open field there among some trees. We can all meet, gather up your people from the fight and my people with their stuff and get out asap. I'll be at the warehouse, I'll pay you the five then, but my people will be packing up and tying up the loose ends."

"Will you be needin' any help loadin' up? Any special needs fer the cargo? How many people are we talkin' ‘bout?" Wyatt glances back towards the card game he had left to engage in these business dealings and watches the engagement for a short few seconds before turning back to Saul. "Whatever info you can share will help me an' mine in givin' you an' yers a smooth ride. Ku?"

(OOC: Saul's answers, however short or non-informative,)

Having what he needs for the time being in hand, Wyatt leans forward and powers to his feet extending his hand once again towards their new patron. "If'n I don' see ya until t'morrow night, zhen tama
yaoming. Zhuyi.
" Not knowing all of the details, Sung feels the warning relevant.

Taking his leave of Saul Potter, Captain Sung moseys over to the card game and places his left hand on the back of one of the chairs. "You gao guhn gentlemen'll ‘ave t' ‘scuse me as I've got some business t' attend to. Xièxie nî fer the entertainment."

Touching the brim of his hat, Wyatt makes his way over to Sam and the brunette. "Hate t' interrupt, puhn yoh, but I'm takin' the mule back t' Roc. Any o' the lot ya who's wantin' t' head back now better hump it, otherwise, yer providin' yer own ride or radioin' an' waitin' ‘til someone can pick ya up."

(OOC: Sam's reply,)

Scanning the barroom, Sung gently chews on the inside right of his bottom lip. Asher isn't anywhere to be seen and Wolf seems to have wandered off as well so he's going to have to radio them and fill them in on his plans.

"Don' get chun. We got work t' prepare for t'morrow. Dohn ma?"

(OOC: Sam's reply,)

Tipping his head while touching the brim of his hat to the strapped lady, Captain Sung swivels about and strides purposefully to the door while fishing his personal communicator out of his coat pocket. Cool night air washing his face and removes the inviting odor of alcohol from his nostrils the moment he passes through the door. Standing just outside the Slaughterhouse, Wyatt thumbs his radio active and states, "The mule's headin' back t' Roc. Any o' you lot need a ride?"

Waiting only a moment for immediate replies before jogging down the stairs and strolling up to the "horse" he rode in on, Sung climbs into the driver's seat and uses his biometric ID to start the engine. Lifting into the air and drifting just a bit sideways, Wyatt corrects the pitch and the mule rights. Glancing about to make sure he isn't about to run anyone over shows him that his path is clear and with a push of a pedal and the drawing back of a stick, the vehicle is backed away from the parking stall.

(OOC: hopefully, the return trip to Roc is a quiet one,)

Driving the mule right up the ramp into the cargo bay, Wyatt doesn't bother parking it in the vehicle's hanger as he is most likely going to have to go play taxi later on. Shutting the engines down, he rolls from the seat and strides across the bay to the stairs to the front, right side. Another flight of stairs takes him through the mid-deck and expels him onto the main deck and into the dining area. Glancing to his right, Sung spots Ma reading up in the observation dome. His discovery causes a short detour as he is inclined to hike the small staircase which draws the scarred woman's attention to him.

"How's the girl?" he puts towards her.

(OOC: Ma's response,)

"Well, we got another dilemma," Sung quietly remarks while removing his hat and running his free hand through his black hair. "I picked up work, but we leave t'morrow night so we've got t' find a solution fer the girl's predicamen'. Think on that, will ya, Ma? I'm not too keen on becomin' a wet nurse while tryin' t' earn a livin'."

(OOC: Ma's response,)

Wyatt can't see a reason to visit the infirmary. Being honest with himself means admitting that seeing the pregnant girl will open way too many wounds. Dipping his head in polite thanks to the woman who holds the crew together, the captain of the boat strolls back down into the dining room and through it to the forward hall. Dropping down his ladder into the homey chamber that is his quarters, Wyatt tosses his hat on his bed and immediately moves to Cortex terminal.

As the screen flares to life, Sung removes his gunbelt and hangs it on the back of the chair. "Let's see what I can find on ol' Saul Potter," he mutters as he drops into the chair and stretches the tension out of his shoulders.

(OOC: Wyatt will spend as much time as needed drawing up whatever intel he can on Saul Potter, Pegasus, old news reports on events surrounding either, a satellite image of the meet area for the next night so he can get a lay of the land, and current traffic reports for the space between Whitefall and Pegasus.)

Wyatt

"Will you be needin' any help loadin' up? Any special needs fer the cargo? How many people are we talkin' ‘bout?" Wyatt glances back towards the card game he had left to engage in these business dealings and watches the engagement for a short few seconds before turning back to Saul. "Whatever info you can share will help me an' mine in givin' you an' yers a smooth ride. Ku?"

"Everything will be on a wheeled trailer, packed and ready to drop into your cargo bay. We shouldn't require a lot of help for that. As I said, it will be four passengers, including myself. Two gentlemen are up for any heavy lifting." Saul finished his drink, "The last one will be an older gentleman, a bit slow because he walks with a cane but we'll take care of our own.

"If'n I don' see ya until t'morrow night, zhen tama yaoming. Zhuyi." Not knowing all of the details, Sung feels the warning relevant.

Saul smile that sad smile again, "Tian fuhn di fu. It is the way of the verse. bai zhé bù náo.

Sam

"So," he says, wincing slightly at the burn of the whiskey in his throat, "Ya ain't never been off-world, huh? Not even once?"

"You kidding me? No! My parents came here to start a new life and make their fortune, they only got it half right." She said tossing back her drink and looking suddenly bot hangry and sad at the same time. She snakes her head, pushing whatever memories back down. "I'd love to leave this all behind some day but I got my Ma here to take care of and she kinda needs me here. SO I'm stuck here, looking to sky while growing roots."

Dash's eyes widen a bit. His expression obviously stating that the concept of being planet-bound for the entirety of one's life is completely alien to him. "Hell, girl," Sam grins, "Ya ever even seen the inside of a transport?"

"Can't say that I have, you inviting me?" She asks, trying to sound nonchalant but clearly interested. "Or are you just hoping to give me the tour of your bunk?"

Wyatt makes his way over to Sam and Misty. "Hate t' interrupt, puhn yoh, but I'm takin' the mule back t' Roc. Any o' the lot ya who's wantin' t' head back now better hump it, otherwise, yer providin' yer own ride or radioin' an' waitin' ‘til someone can pick ya up."

(Misty looks on as Sam talks to Wyatt but her face shows that she thinks any tours are now cancelled.)

Dohn ma?"

As Wyatt heads towards the door, Eagle-Eye comes up to him, "You get what you were looking for, Captain?" he asks.

(answer)

"Alright, Glad to have helped then. You leaving immediately? Or will you be sticking around a day?"

(answer)

"Good to hear. See you ion the morning then."

The ride home will go without incident, with or without passengers but I need to see Ash's response before I can say what happens next.

Three's Company...........

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, Outside of "The Slaughterhouse", 9:00 PM PT

Asher walked a little bit closer to Collen, not sure what to do he just softly said, "You know it would be nice to get some noodles,.do you know where they serve some good noodles? Noodles would be good right about now,,".

Colleen gave him a raised eyebrow. "Umm. Yeah, there a little place next The Wreck. Actually, now that you mention it, drinking on an empty stomach was probably not a good idea. We could go there."
A wave of relief washed over the kid, "Sounds like a plan."

Colleen and Ash walk towards the centre of town. Colleen is quiet now, no longer crying. She sighs heavily, "Sorry I dumped all this on you. It is nice of you to listen to me."
"Fang Xin." (don't worry)

"Truth is, getting drunk and having revenge Wa Cao (sex) with some complete stranger ain't gonna solve my problems. I'm kinda glad you came by. Hope you aren't disappointed."
"Yeah.. things don't always play out as we imagined."

"Well you are very sweet. Thank you." She says and leans over to kiss Ash firmly on the cheek.

"Bùyòng xiè,.." (you're welcome)

The moment is lost as someone hollers out loudly in your direction, "Kwai Jio Kai (Get lost ), you Wang bao dahn (Dirty bastard sons-of)! You can't steal my girl you Yi Da Dwei Bun Chou Roh (Big stupid pile of stinking meat)!"

Jao Gao (crud!), Ash thinks as he hears the irritated voice of an angry drunk and figures he's about to meet the guy that was tossed from the bar.

Turning they see Nelson O'Reilly staggering angrily toward them. He drops the mostly empty bottle he is carrying and pockets a small black box into his overalls. Locking on Asher and his fists are clenched with rage. The kid sees the sidearm but definitively in a fit of rage the man is not going for his weapon.

The kid was never really known for backing down from a challenge but this could go wrong in so many ways. Beating up a drunk in front of the woman that says she loves him ain't gonna make for a good evening, so he calls out.

"You must be the engineer that Colleen here tells me she loves,Nelson, right?.....Hey we was just going to get some noodle, want to join us? At lot of noodles and little talk'n could make for a shiny evening."

The kid sensed Colleen fidgeting behind him and hopes he wasn't going to be shot in the back, again.

Day 1, Whitefall - Necessity, Inside "The Honeydew", 10:25 PM PT

Clementine made a face of dubiousness and disbelief. "Men." She sighed, "Listen. "Now Patience had him taken care of and I ain't saying it will help but , well there you go. " She said with a shrug, "Just protect your face."

Looking at Clementine Fenris knew his skill at 'bending the truth' had once again failed him. Leaning in he gave the escort a a long kiss.

"Promise you won't tell? But yeah gonna challenge him tomorrow night. Thanks for that information could come in real handy." Dressing quickly the big mechanic gave a last kiss goodbye and headed causally out and down the stairs as a man well satisfied with his date. Grabbing his gear at the door, a thank you to the same lady stationed there, and he was out of the Honey Dew and headed back toward the Slaughterhouse to talk to Eagle Eye. With the info gained Fenris knew he'd take a shot at Bart within the ring.

More with the conversatin'...

"Ya ain't never been off-world, huh," Sam asks, mildly incredulous, "Not even once?"

"You kidding me," the delectable darling called Misty almost laughs. "No! My parents came here to start a new life and make their fortune," she tosses her drink back, then, and, suddenly manages to look angry and sad all at once, "They only got it half right."

Sam wanted to say something to assuage the misery that appeared in Misty's expression but, at the moment, he couldn't quite find any words that might offer any comfort... Truth be told, he was still agog at the fact that the young woman had spent her entire life planet-bound and was more than a little busy trying to wrap his brainpan around that notion, His mouth fell open, once or twice, but there weren't any words there to come out so, instead, he just poured whiskey in.

Misty shook her head, then, forcing whatever gloomy thoughts she'd called up back to where they came. "I'd love to leave this all behind, someday," she confesses, "but I got my Ma, here, to take care of, and she kinda needs me here. So, I'm stuck, looking to the sky while growing roots."

Still wide-eyed in amazement that Misty had never been off-world, Dash couldn't help but offer a faint nod in reply to her confession, Family's important, he mused, don't matter much where ya find it er who ya find it with, I reckon. Gotta look out fer yer own, Made some sacrifices, m'self, so as ta see mine were safe, A grin cracks his perplexed expression, then, perhaps in an attempt to inject some levity back into a conversation that had unintentionally gone glum, and, leaning in a bit, he asks; "Hell, girl, ya ever even seen the inside of a transport?"

"Can't say that I have," she smiles prettily, trying to sound blasé but still, obviously, interested, "You inviting me, or are you just hoping to give me a tour of your bunk?"

Sam laughs aloud and shakes his head a bit. "Well, darlin', I can't say as that thought din't run through my brainpan," he winks, "but that'd be an awful short tour. My bunk ain't that big,"

Whatever Sam might have planned to say next, it was stifled (at least for the moment) by Wyatt's arrival at their table. "Hate t' interrupt, puhn yoh," Sung says in that calm way of his, "but I'm takin' the mule back t' Roc. Any o' th' lot o' ya who's wantin' t' head back now better hump it, otherwise, yer providin' yer own ride or radioin' an' waitin' ‘til someone can pick ya up."

"It's all shiny, Cap," Dash nods, "Me an' Misty, here, was jus' startin' ta get acquainted. Ain't even started playin' footsy, yet."

From beneath the brim of his hat, Sung's eyes were busy scanning the barroom, likely looking for signs of the rest of the crew. His gaze returning to Sam as the pilot was in the midst of sipping away the last of his drink. "Don't get chun," the captain cautioned, "We got work t' prepare for t'morrow. Dohn ma?"

"Hao," Dash replies, swallowing the whiskey, "No worries, Wyungsung, I got ya covered," He glances sidelong at Misty, then, taking note of the fresh disappointment painted on her pretty face, then looks back to Wyatt, "Why don'cha head on out, puhn yoh," he suggests, lifting his glass to display the remaining sip inside, "I'll catch up to ya one way er t'other. If ya's gone when I'm finished, I reckon I c'n find a way home."

Tipping his head while touching the brim of his hat to the strapped lady, Captain Sung swivels about and strides purposefully to the door while fishing his personal communicator out of his coat pocket. As he goes, Dash turns his full attentions back to the lovely young lady at his side. "Looks's if we got th' job," he smirks before shooting that last bit of whiskey past his lips. He smiles his best fly-boy smile at her as he deposits the now empty glass on the table with a solid ‘thunk.' "Seein's how t'morrow's shapin' up ta be a pi guh kicker o' a day, sweetness," he adds, beginning to rise from his seat and offering a hand by way of invitation, "if yer wantin' that tour, I figger, now's th' time."

((OOC: Assuming she doesn't flat out say "no" and thereby call an end to the evening, if so, I'll edit,))

Sam's smile brightens as her hand slips into his and, as she gets to her feet, he nudges her chair out of the way with the toe of his boot. "So, Miss Knowles," he grins, sounding a bit more flirtatious than the formal address might bear, "Ya got a ride er ya want we should try an' catch up ta ol' Wyatt?"

((OOC: And, I'll stop there, If Misty's got a horse or some such and prefers to take that mode of transport to Roc, Sam's cool with that. If she doesn't mind sharing the ride with Wyatt (and whoever else might try to pile in), she and Sam will try to catch up with the Cap before he leaves the town in mule-dust.))
