KM (sorry it's easier to write than Killmorrigan) I think your plan with Isaac makes a lot of sense.
If Olan doesn't get a post up, and I have some free time, I might post a short reply from Neri to that effect.

Presumably it's far too wet to light a torch? (I figure it is but I thought I'd ask )

well
I'm assuming that your torches are in your backpacks, and thus pretty well protected. It would be not be impossible to get one out and light it, provided that you protect it from the elements while doing so.

Hmm, but then we'd have to protect it from the elements while it's lit as well, which could be tough.

Ginafae?
Kayem (KM) is a new one for me, but I kinda like it. Most just call me Kilmer, or Kilmor ...

for future reference...
...I'd appreciate it if you would provide two, even three rounds' worth of combat actions in a given post. I won't be stopping combat every round for your input (or this adventure will takes ages). If I don't have set actions, I end up guessing, and your character might not do what you planned.
This is particularly important if your character has multiple roles in a given fight. For instance, I pretty much know that Isaac and Volkmar are going to attack the bad guys. There may be tactical considerations, but if all else fails, I can have them hit something, and I'll be pretty safe.
The same goes for Neri, except that she might want to lay some healing hands on someone every now and then.
Aryan has to pick and choose her spell uses, and then decide whether or not to wade in and start cracking heads with a sturdy piece of oak. I already know that her character only joins melee if necessary to defend herself, and emybear had let me know when she'd be casting another spell, if needed, so she was pretty well covered.
I had to ad lib a bit with Syana and Shianna this time... which turned out okay. But had the bard been taken down, I might have had one (or more) players angry at me for not having her retreat and use missile fire, or not having Shianna heal her.
The best thing is to post your intended combat actions, along with "if X happens, my character will try to Y. If A happens, she will do B instead." Also, for those of you who carry more than one weapon type, and for those who have spells, it would probably be wise to send me a PM with some "default actions."
I.e. - when to go into melee, when to hang back and fight from range, whether you'll fire into melee, what situations will lead you to cast spells, whether you prefer to burn all your spells right away, whether you prefer to conserve them, etc.
Thanks!

Sure sounds good to me. Although as you pointed out, more often than not it's just simple hack and slash for Neri.
And KM/Kilmor I can call you whatever you prefer.

Yes Sir!
Thanks for keeping blundering little Syana alive past the first encounter for me.
I will work on getting more future info into her posts; this was actually the first combat scene I've ever finished on the forum. So I'll take the constructive criticism.
I'll try to have post up for my wounded lady soon.

I wasn't trying to be offensive, just to let you know how *I* handle combat. Other DMs may vary.

Baby
No seriously... I wasn't mocking or using sarcasm, I really did appreciate the constructive criticsm. I cannot improve my playing without it... I'm enjoying this game thus far alot and would like to keep it rolling and whatever you can suggest to me to help that out is fine and dandy.
No hurt feelings, no squashed toes, you'll have to try alot harder to offend me I promise
*hugs and cheek kisses to the DM*
M.
PS. I watched 'A Few Good Men' last night and am a military brat, so the 'Yes Sir' was more respectful, and perhaps a bit playful, not intended to be snotty I promise!

health and healing...
After Shianna's healing, Syana is better, but still banged up. Isaac and Volkmar are similarly better, but still banged up.
All are in fighting condition, but the damage is there.
Neri gets one lay on hands per day - who do yuo wish to use it on, Ginafae?

Ah I forgot it doesn't work like it does in 3rd ed. Hmm...so I suppose she'll use it on Isaac because he's less hairy.

I take it we can't make out the buildings in the village because of the mist?
And would we be allowed entry at night?

buildings
You take it correctly. Too far away, too much mist. the lights have an odd, distilled quality to them.
This is just a village, not a walled city, so it'll be tough for them to keep you out at night. Besides, Isaac knows people here, so they should be willing to let you in.
