Wand Charges
I was wondering about charges from the wand. Ok, after the fight we will check for charges. And maybe switch to an alternative light source if we have one.

The room
It isn't exactly a room. Basically think of a tunnel running through a 15' square room. The tunnel is on the right (as you see it) and goes directly across. The room was not lit, thus the momentary blindness of the guards.
The only other things in the room are a small wooden table and two wooden chairs (near the table).
Does that clear things up? I apoligize if I was unclear before. I am a bit new at this play by post thing.
Any other questions?

Ok, so . . .
Ok, if the room was not lit, then Heironymus would abviously need to keep the wand out - and keep it generally aimed at the eyes of his opponent. It owuld probably somewhat limit his ability to see - at least it would be hard to see whatever was byond the light. (For example, it would be hard to see Kyara)
From your description - the "room" sort of become a T? We enter from the bottom and the tunnel goes both directions? Wait - just reread your post. It is more of a wide spot in a tunnel. Just a guard room of sorts.
But the big question - there is room for Heironymus to enter and move to the side leaving space for Kyara to shoot, right?
If the guard has backed away to about 15' - he is about at the other edge of the room, right? But not yet in the "tunnel" on the other side. So, for now, it would be possible to get at him from both sides. Or one side and a shooter.

Pretty much got it
The room flares out to one side with the tunnel along the other side (pretty much as you said). You are correct in saying that the light will likely conceal a bit of what is behind it. However, once the guards eyes adjust (which has now occured) he is in the same visual status as you are. You are looking past the light to see him as well after all, and given the unknown abilities of the guard, he could possibly see Kyara as easily as she can see him.
The open part of the room is to the left, so it is possible for you to step into the room and to the left to give Kyara a clear shot at the other guard.

Let there be light!
Ok, so a darkness spell, I'm guessing? Heironymus does have a light spell as well as the wand. I assume the wand is what is keeping the darkness at bay. Would a light spell be likely to cancel out a darkness spell and leave them back under "normal" conditions? I'm guessing this is something that Heironymus would know enough about to at least have an educated guess.

No
Sorry it took me so long to answer this question, but a light spell will not counter a darkness spell if that is what it is. It takes a 3rd-level or higher light spell (such as daylight) to counter the effect.

Just a point
I wanted to point out something that I'm sure you guys have already thought of, but I just wanted to be clear. If these foes are not using a light source, that means they can likely see you easily in the dark while you remain blind (Thus being considered flat-footed and losing your Dex modifier to AC). I just wanted to point that out. As long as you remain in the dark they will also gain concealment (50% miss chance).
And Heironymus: Just to be clear, where you going to light your wand or cast sound burst first?

There are 12 guards in the room, outfitted in black chain shirts and each armed with both a halberd and a longsword. They have black hoods that come up over their faces such that only shadows can be seen of their head and facial features. Two guards are positioned at each door (save the one Kyara and Heironymus entered through which is unguarded).
Physically, Kyara and Heironymus are about 30 feet from the throne (in a room that is approximately 40' long by 30 feet wide). They came in through the main door at one end of the long room. The other two are ten feet closer to the throne, having come in through one of the side doors.

Who?
If it is the Illurian Deity of trickery and deception you meant then his name is Elarii.
I intend to let anyone else comment on this conversation prior to the enthroned elf doing whatever it is he is going to do. I will make an official update either Sunay some time or after the little conversation among players comes to an end.

Entertaining?
Well, is everyone having fun with this? Have I talked you in circles enough? I look forward to where this game is going to go from here. As always, you can do almost anything in my campaigns (though do try to stay as a group... it'll make running this a whole lot easier, particularly in a play by post.) so the next stage of the game (once you actually leave the tunnels) I leave up to you all to decide.

Uhhh...
So... I guess no one is going to respond to each other then? I'm giving everyone else 24 hours (since no one is actually doing anything difinitive), then I am updating the game. From this point on I will be updating the game every Sunday with or without posts from people. Those who don't post or who don't reply to conversation will suffer the whim of the Game Master Alright?

Sunday Updates
Game updates every Sunday will begin 1 week from today. I'm not updating today because I updated the game Thursday. I hope everyone posts by then, else they leave their character's actions to my discretion.

10 day blip
I will try to post to the game thread today if I have time, but I wanted to make sure I let everyone know that I will be missing about 10 days. Because of travel I will not be able to post for the next 10 days. After that things should return to normal. Feel free to run Heironymus as an NPC until then.
As for returning for the horse, if it is a4 days from here (8 both ways then) it might be unwise to go back for it. But I also suspect there is a special bond with that particular animal so it really is Kyara's choice to make. H will accept her decision.
