whew....
It was over. Areldor heart was still pumping, strong grip still upon his club. He could not himself believe what had happened. He licked his lips glanced down at his black tunic covered with remains of their foe's "Truly" he said to himself "the Goddess Minerva was very merciful to me and my companions. Thank you again Minerva and to you Uncle." To Areldor his actions were of divine more than skill and he knew it. He had much to be thankful. His new (dare he may say friends) came out of this with their lives.
Glad of the hard fought victory, he was puzzled on why the eye patches held the pirates from striking those that wore them. At that moment he looked down at the paladin "You have my thanks, friend." Extending his hand to Areldor, Jaufre could not prevent a flash of pain from crossing his face as the cut in his side shifted; something the paladin was quick to try to cover up with a grin. "The battle would surely have been different if not for the aid of such stout-hearted companions." Areldor reached down with a slight smile and grabbed the hand of the holy warrior and helped him up from the ground. "Yes, we do have many in our little band." the illusionist said to Jaufre when he got to his feet.
He hear Elyra say that we should head to the "Happy water's" and Amur agree but Areldor wanted to check on all of the seekers to see if they needed any assistance from what little first aid he could render before head north to the interesting sound.

His People...........
The battle was done and they had survived their first challenge as a group. The looked around and saw that only a few had been injured, but then though there were many the foe fell easily.
The sound of the “Happy Waters” once again enticed them to push on, but the Shaman felt they should face this unknown with full strength. These may have only been the first of the guards and the next, if any may be stronger. Tohmas had learned his skills in the forests and plains so fighting on the loose rocks as of a mountain had proven more treacherous than the foe. Although embarrassed by his self inflicted wounds he knew his duty was to help the others.
“ Let us attend to the living.”
As Tohmaz approached the the members of the party he painfully dropped to one knee and addressed them.
“Friends, forgive me my rudeness and haste of my earlier actions.
I am Tohmaz Goodwood, Shaman of the “Wimachtendienk”.
I have called upon the Earth Mother “Atira” to aide me in your care.
Through her blessings your wounds may be completely healed, if you will join me a Ceremony of her Cleansing Tears.
Some think of this as a Rain Dance because it may bring Atira tears from the sky but that is only when she is called to heal the land or beasts.
To heal the children of earth we make the tears, combining her water and your blood.“
Tohmaz takes a bandage and touches it to each of the party’s wounds drawing away a small bloody piece. Going to his pack he brings to a small decorated bowl, he place the bandage in the bowl and fills the bowl with water.
“Arise Warriors and follow me in the trail of Atira’s tears that falls from this bowl. But once we start you must finish or the healing will not be complete.”
Turning to the others Tohmaz says,
“ Any may join in the dance and to give aide is a blessing. Prayers to you Gods may please them as we pay respect to all.”
With that Tohmaz started move as rhythmically as he could in wide circle around the rubble, sprinkling the blooded water as if they were the tears of Atira. As the dance started, Tohmaz saw members of the group step forward and to jion in and aide as they could.
In clear baritone voice he began to chant.
(Earth Mother , spread your tears on this one of your children.)
(Cleans your child. Heal your child.)
The ceremony continued for a quarter hour and the pain had made the dance starte difficultly for the Shaman, but as Altira's tears healed Tohmas’s leg he was able dance more freely.
When the Shaman was free of pain he saw the others too were moving smoothly and smiles upon their faces let him know Altira’s tears had healed them.
While the they were all still gathered Tohmas stretched out his arm and addressed them.
“ Thank you, for allowing me to aide you, I had come on the this gathering to learn how to help restore the lands that have been defiled by the dark creatures that drove out my ancestors.
I believed I would never have a clan to serve and would only try to do the will of my Goddess to heal her lands and creatures.
As you have come together to help each other I now believe I see the truth of my Training.
When a member of my people chooses the way of the Shaman they are taught to lead, but not to command.
We are not battle commanders, but loyal followers that hold up those around us.
We are taught to help calm the chaos so that the way can be followed.
We are taught to advice, to heal, to comfort, to provide and to defend our clan.
We are taught to do this with the joy in our heart that comes from unselfish service.
So if you shall have me, I pledge myself to this clan.
In the words of my people,
Wimachtendienk, Wingolauksik, Witahemui.
Brotherhood, Cheerfulness, Service.
The Shaman then prepared for the next challenge of find those Happy Waters.

The Dance
Amur paused when he heard the Shaman Tohmaz speaking of healing the wounded first. It made sense; so the boy paused and since he was not injured, he sat down on a pile of rubble and waited. He kept an eye open for any other problems that might try to sneak up on them while the Shaman did his thing.
He found the ‘dance’ interesting and a little amazing; a dance that would heal all that took part. It seemed a miracle in a way, but he saw it had its uses and he was silently glad that someone in their group had the ability.
He watched the dance, but kept peering about for trouble every so often. Once the dance was complete he rose and when the others were ready he once again started towards the sounds of water.

Dancing Knights
Vincent turned from the Cleric as the Druid started to speak of his healing dance. Enticed by this, Vincent moved over to him to join in.
At first his dancing was clumsy as he tried to mimic the Druid's movements, but by the end of it he had managed to smooth out a bit. Feeling refreshed and reveling at the magic that had healed him Vincent smiled. He watched as the druid pledged himself to the group with the words of his people.
Walking up to the druid, Vincent placed his fist over his heart and spoke, "Tohmaz Goodwood, Shaman of the Wimachtendienk, I Vincent Wysman, Knight to-be, pledge myself to aiding you, and this group in our mission, your mission, and any other that arises. I would also like to thank you for this dance that has healed our wounds, I feel much better now thanks to you and your goddess." Bowing to the druid, Vincent once more stood and grinned to him.

Elongamat............
Tohmas smiled as he listened to the young Warrior. "Tohmaz Goodwood, Shaman of the Wimachtendienk, I Vincent Wysman, Knight to-be, pledge myself to aiding you, and this group in our mission, your mission, and any other that arises. I would also like to thank you for this dance that has healed our wounds, I feel much better now thanks to you and your goddess."
Tohmas recognized that man felt this was the proper way a Knight should respond to an act of kindness or service. As with all of them the life of learning was now replaced with the real life.
The Shaman raised hand and placed on Vincent’s chest. “Among my people we would call you Kittlelendamwagan, the Earnest One. But to me you are now Elongamat, friend. Vincent Wysman we will become Witawematpanni, the one who aides. Now let us go and find what Mother Earth has in store for us.

.
Elyra watched the rain dance ceremony with interest. She had seen many religious ceremonies but never this one. Most simply tried to convert people to the worship of a certain god and left the participants with perhaps spiritual well-being but certainly not physical healing. Such a ceremony would be advantageous to the seekers in the future. Not sure that the area was totally safe, she kept one eye on the ceremony and one eye scanning for any approaching danger.

Battles End
The battle over and the healing begun Crow sat cleaning the dust off the pommels of his swords. His quick thinking to use the pommels as blunt weapons instead of the blades had proven successful against the skeleton pirates. As he cleaned and kept an eye out for danger he could not help but watch as Tohmaz began to prep for something he called a ’Rain Dance’.
This dance was supposed to act as a mass healing spell for those wounded who joined it once started. Crow having not been wounded in the brief fight had no need of it and in truth was wary of it. Being an Elf he had never heard of such healing and though not scared of such magic he was unsure of it.
For now he would clean ‘Twinkle Twinkle‘ and ‘Little Star‘, watch this rain dance, and as the bard Elyra keep an eye out for more enemies..........

Hmm if I watch will i get wet?
Areldor was still with the paladin when Tohmas called out about calling upon his god to bring healing to all those who were wounded. The illusionist was still very surprised that he did not even receive a blow from the encounter with the pirates, so he did not need any healing. But he was very intrigued on how it would work and wanted to watch. Then he turned to Jaufre and asked " Are you going to join?" Seeing that the young man was in some pain even though he was trying to hide it.

After the Dance...........
Looking about the battle ground the Shaman saw the foes weapons strewn about. "We should gather those weapons and pile them away from their old owners. There may be enchantment still in them. As it is there are too many to carry. There may be other items of value left behind, they were pirates once."
Taking his leave from the young knight Tohmas sought out the ranger Crow. “Friend, while we are strong again we should find from where the sound of is coming. If it is truly water then that is where thing would gather. Lead on and I will follow.

First kill and first wound
Mylos looked down at the loaded crossbow in his hands wondering how such a mechanism would work. So lost was he in looking down at the loaded crossbow that, for a minute at least, he was calm the skeletons forgotten. BANG! A weapon clanged against a shield and broke Mylos' concentration which startled him like a frightened animal causing him to loose the weapon he had been so fascinated with prematurely. His deity must have been looking over him as the bullet did not embed itself in any of the party's members, but instead rattled into the ribcage of one of the enemy skeletons. Mylos clenched his fist and celebrated, his first shot had hit!
The pirates were advancing quickly now and Mylos had no time to reload his bow so instead he withdrew the two daggers he had purchased with his father. Mylos gave a quick prayer up to Amber o' the High Woods hoping to gain some more of her favour. Once he had finished his silent prayer a thought occurred to him. The eye patches. He remembered what the barkeep had said, this will give you safe passage. He shouted to the others around him to put on their eye patches, it was worth a shot. Mylos dug his own eye patch out of his pack and attached it to his arm, with that he moved as hastily as his small legs could carry him eager to get into the fray. In order to make coin you had to take risks.
Mylos reached his first opponent. The bony fellow was a head taller than him but Mylos had an idea of how to deal with these foes. The skeleton bodies gave away where their weakest points were and the closest weak point to Mylos were the skeletons knee caps. Summoning all of his courage and strength Mylos swiped down with his daggers hitting both of the skeletons knee caps and reducing it to dust. With new found passion and confidence Mylos turned to find the nearest skeleton and slashed at it once again reducing it to dust. Infused with too much fervour Mylos' last attack missed and the skeleton facing him looked angry.
Mylos was surrounded now as other pirates reached the battle and recognised an enemy. Mylos took a deep breath and readied himself to try and parry any attacks upon him, however no attack came. Mylos looked to his arm and saw the eye patch which the skeletons seemed to be staring at and Mylos quickly thanked his deity again.
He did not want to hold too much faith in the eye patches mysterious effect and so chose to kill the skeletons behind him opening up an avenue of retreat. With much unbalanced slashing and stabbing the daggers did there work and downed two more of the undead foe without reply.
Although safety was only a few footfalls away Mylos decided to try and eliminate the enemy once and for all and so turned and slashed wildly at the skeletons in front. This time round Amber must of turned her back on him as he sliced him self along his side opening up a tear in his armour and deep bloody gash. Nevertheless, with adrenaline pumping, Mylos resumed his attack at a wonder why the wound did not hurt as yet. His daggers found another target and once more it was reduced to dust.
After a much more skilful execution of the dagger dance the female bard of the party came to his rescue and killed the skeleton standing at his side. This left but one skeleton left and Mylos' side was beginning to sting the adrenaline wearing off as he realised that he would now, most probably, be safe. His wound impaired him as he sliced and slashed at the yellow bones of the frozen skeleton and caused him to miss his first two swipes. His next two however, dealt enough of a blow to kill his last enemy.
Although wounded Mylos did not stop until he had found his bolt, lodged into a skeletons ribcage, and was thankful that it could be used again, he desperately needed to practice with the triggered weapon.
Mylos returned to the group who had gathered around the shaman and was calling for a Rain Dance. Mylos was clueless to this custom but joined in nevertheless, Mylos loved to dance and sing and if it could help with the stinging, bitter pain in his side he was happy to take his chances.

Healing
Day Six
Saturday
Marrero 13, 101awd
Jaufre was confused by Tohmas' address. He couldn't recall ever hearing about the Wimachtendienk, nor of a divine healing rain dance; a matter which left him feeling off-put considering his efforts to find ways to heal his sister. As the shaman continued, Jaufre could see the sincerity in the man's eyes in the desire to heal is new-found companions, a trait the paladin could respect, but he found the sudden notion of mixing his blood into this ritual unsettling.
As such, when Tohmas came about to examine his wound Jaufre instinctively recoiled before thinking better of it. A moment passed where the shaman looked up from the wound to face him and Jaufre felt ashamed. He then nodded and let the shaman continue. When he had finished, Jaufre watched Tohmas move on to the next adventurer, though uneasiness still nagged at him.
It wasn't that he did not trust the man, he had no reason not to, and furthermore Crow trusted him. It was more so that Jaufre was still recovering from his shaken faith , and for Tohmas to so calmly ask for such a blessing from his was something to admire... and envy. It was the envy that made him feel ill. Perhaps this journey would be more than he thought it; a chance to help his sister, and himself.
Silently he closed his eyes and prayed to Cedrus, asking for forgiveness and for the Lord of Light's continued watch over his sister.
" Are you going to join?"
Jaufre had lost himself in internal prayer, and looked to Areldor when he spoke up, the illusionist throwing him a quizzical expression. Then he realized that Tohmas had already continued on with the ritual.
"I..." He hesitated and hated himself for it, finding himself almost refusing the aid. He'd not be in any condition to help anyone if he didn't at least try. Shaking his head to clear the thoughts from his mind Jaufre continued "...Yes... yes, I think I shall."
He sheathed his sword and offered his shield to Areldor to hold for him, to ease his movement. Each step shifted the open wound in his side, sending ripples of pain through him. Though as the ceremony progressed he felt relief, and by the end the pain was gone entirely.
The ritual complete however, Jaufre could only muster up a simple 'thank you' to Tohmas, as he still felt out of sorts. As he moved to regain his shield from Areldor, Jaufre looked back over his shoulder with a pang of guilt; he should have been more respectful than that to someone so selfless. He'd make it up to the man later.

Previously in Treasure Seekers
The group of Seekers experienced their first taste of battle against a small army of Skeleton Pirates, realizing that each member must develop their fighting skills further, if they plan to survive against the onslaught of any other unknown foes, before returning to the Toothless Dragon Tavern.
What they discovered was that the seemingly strongest of their group had failed to eliminate their foes as successfully as the seemingly weakest of their group!
With the aid of his goddess Minerva, the Illusionist Areldor armed with a Club, had dispatched more skeletons than any of his peers!
Each Seeker had eliminated at least 2 of their undead foes, but it was the Illusionist who had shown his comrades that he would not only stand in the heat of battle, but proved himself to be an unexpected warrior, when his life and the lives of his comrades were on the line!
Although each Seeker had experienced their share of misses when engaging the enemy, they were now ready and more determined than ever to face any new threats this day!
But first, the self inflicted wounds of the Shaman and the Gnome Bard needed to be restored to optimal health, as did the wounds inflicted upon the Paladin, who had suffered the most against their foes!
Rain Dance and Happy Water
World of Aihrde
Island of Tagea
Rubble Battle Field
Early Afternoon on Saturday
Marrero 13, 101awd (After Winter Dark)
In the aftermath of their battle against the Skeleton Pirates, the lack of life was more accentuated than ever, as the Seekers examined and tended to the wounds of their comrades; gathered up the weapons of their foes amidst the decaying remains of the stone and wood strewn rubble; before proceeding to investigate the sound of the Happy Water.
It took a moment for Jaufre to realize he was no longer under siege; the end of the skeleton pirates occurring as quickly as they had arrived upon the adventurers. At his side stood the illusionist, now covered in bone dust and breathing heavily, and, to Jaufre's relief, without a scratch. Though as much as the paladin had spoken as a lone protectorate against the oncoming horde, he fully realized that he would not be standing here now if not for the quick actions of those who came to his aid against the southern flank.
Rebalancing his weight to relieve some of the pain, Jaufre looked to the man who had his back at more than one point during the fight.
"You have my thanks, friend." Extending his hand to Areldor, Jaufre could not prevent a flash of pain from crossing his face as the cut in his side shifted; something the paladin was quick to try to cover up with a grin. "The battle would surely have been different if not for the aid of such stout-hearted companions."
Surely it would have, and Jaufre would have to remember not to second guess his companions on this journey; the illusionist Areldor and the bard Elyra had clearly proven themselves capable of more than idle banter and entertainment. A quick glimpse about the rubble-battlefield revealed to him that indeed all the treasure seekers still stood, now amidst piles of dust and most in better shape than he; a relief on all accounts.
Rain Dance
Amur, Willem, Crow, Bartimeous, Elyra and Areldor had been watching this Rain Dance with keen interest, while also spreading out around the perimeters of the ceremony to stand watch against any other unforeseen evil intrusion that might seek to take their lives!
Meanwhile, Tohmas was joined in the ceremony by a slightly wounded Vincent (who later pledged himself to serve alongside the Shaman for the greater good of the Seekers), Mylos (who always enjoyed participating in a good song and dance; but now also needed healing in his physical body) and by a skeptical Jaufre (who was also in dire need of healing, but inwardly conflicted regarding his seeming failure in devotion to his own deity Cedrus).
The ritual complete however, Jaufre could only muster up a simple 'thank you' to Tohmaz, as he still felt out of sorts. As he moved to regain his shield from Areldor Jaufre looked back over his shoulder with a pang of guilt; he should have been more respectful than that to someone so selfless. He'd make it up to the man later.
As the Seekers marveled at what had transpired, each began to look around the group, as they decided upon their next course of action, while examing the rubble and beginning to gather up the weapons that had fallen when the Skeleton Pirates were eliminated in the heat of battle.

As Tohmas proceeded to rejoin his friend Crow, to confer with the Ranger and investigate the sound of the Happy Water, he was approached by an appreciative Vincent, as the young Knight pledged his allegiance to the Shaman and the Seekers!
Amur Makes a Startling Discovery
As the Seekers prepared to investigate the distant sound of the Happy Water, one by one they began gathering up the weapons once brandished by the Skeleton Pirates, that now lay discarded on the rubble battlefield. They decided to pile them together, rather than carry them, choosing to retrieve them after investigating the terrain ahead, agreeing that they may be of some use to the Toothless Dragon crew.
But as they finished stacking the cutlasses in a pile and began to follow Crow and Tohmas to explore the distant terrain, Amur decided to kneel down for a closer examination of the weapons. As he randomly chose a cutlass to test its feel in his hand, he was startled to see etched inside the hand guard of each cutlass that he subsequently examined, the Maw of a Toothless Dragon!
"Seekers!" exclaimed Amur as the realization hit his consciousness like a ton of bricks, "I Know Why Those Skeleton Pirates Did Not Attack Any One Who Wore Their Eye Patches!"
Seeker after Seeker was stunned by the realization that the Skeleton Pirates had been former comrades of their employer Mad Dog Muldoon!
The Happy Water
After recovering from the shock of what Amur had discovered etched in the hand guards of the cutlasses, the Seekers resumed their quest to uncover the mystery of the distant sound of the Happy Water.
As Tohmas and Crow examined the terrain ahead of the other Seekers, the sound of the Happy Water grew louder and louder!
It was the sound of a river flowing underneath the rubble, but there was no sign of any aquatic life, nor any animal or lizard that would be drawn to the life sustaining water.
Crow put his ear to the ground, determining that the river was not only covered by rubble, but at a particular point seemed to cascade downward into a cavern.
Tohmas also concurred that the Ranger was indeed correct in what he had discovered about the Happy Water.
Meanwhile, the Cleric Bartimeous stood a few yards to the west of the Ranger and Shaman.
Whether by Inspiration or Impulse, it was not clear to any of the Seekers who noticed his actions, the Cleric of Toft placed his left hand to his Holy Symbol and stretched forth his right hand, as he began chanting to himself in a Dwarvish tongue.
Moments later, the Gold Reveal Spell that Bartimeous had cast caused 'faerie fire flames' to glow from beneath the pile of rubble where he was standing!
"There Is Hidden Gold Beneath This Rubble!"
Before Amur was able to examine the area for any traps, the Gnome Bard Mylos swiftly moved a few stones aside, then reached his hand inside the small space, before letting out a scream!
As several Seekers rushed to his side to aid the Gnome, a joyful smile followed his scream, as he pulled his hand unscathed from the small space, clutching a Gold Coin between his eager fingers!
Note from the Castle Keeper:
As the Seekers clear away more rubble, they discover a step littered with more Gold Coins, while the 'faerie fire flames' begin to diminish, as the effects of the Gold Reveal Spell begin to vanish from view!

Amur makes a Startling Discovery!!
As the others gathered around Amur showed them the Toothless Dragon etched into each cutlass, he gave them a few moments to let it sink in and then added.
“I hope this is not the fate we are destined for.”
He dropped the cutlass back into the pile and when the group moved out the once again turned his attention to the rubble over which they passed. His sling not returned to his belt, he left his hands free just in case anything might happen.
Crow and Tohmas determined that the sound of the water was beneath some of the rubble. The Cleric, Bartimeous, seemed to pray for a moment touching his holy symbol and stretching out his hand and chanting. Before Amur could ask what he was doing, a glow began beneath the pile of rubble.
“There if Hidden Gold Beneath This Rubble!” Bartimeous stated.
Amur started forward to examine the area for any traps, but the Gnome Bard Mylos swiftly moved a few stones aside, then reached his hand inside the small space, before letting out a scream!
Amur rushed to his side along with several other Seekers, but a joyful smile followed the Gnome’s scream, as he pulled his hand unscathed from the small space, clutching a Gold Coin between his eager fingers!
Amur punched Mylos on the shoulder but couldn’t help but smile, “It might be a good thing to check to see if there are any traps before you stick your hand in tight places next time.”
Amur bent to examine closely the place where Mylos had withdrew the gold, he was looking for traps as well as any way they could safely remove the rubble. Was there a passage here, or just some gold that had been trapped when this place had been destroyed?

The Seekers made their way to the source of the water sound. Crow identified its source and a bit of time spent revealed gold coins and a potential passage. Elyra let the others look. Soon talk turned to the lack of torches. This was not something that was a problem for her but certainly it was for some of the others and so it was a problem for the Seekers as a group. Ideas were exchanged and it seemed that using candles, bandages and pirate cutlasses was the idea of most merit. "We do not need many torches for those with infravision can use it just fine. Save the torches for those without it. Or we could have those with it take a quick look below and see what we are up against. I am not averse to returning to town to get proper supplies before venturing further. Might get a bit of money for the weapons we have gathered."

hello happy water ???
Areldor returned the shield to the private but well healed paladin. "You seem to be better." he said as he looked panned his gaze to the rest of the dancers. Tohmas god did bring healing to body and maybe to mind as well. With the dance done there was the job of gathering up what could be found from the undead pirates. Areldor had seen many swords in his day. The Winged Ox brought in wide verity of customer and with that came the tools of their business. The illusionist glanced at the blades with little interest. " I have seen a few of these, but I did not think that I would be seeing the business ends."
As the pile grew it and discussions of what to do next it was Amur who discovered the secret of how the eye patches saved the seekers.
"Seekers!" exclaimed Amur as the realization hit his consciousness like a ton of bricks, "I Know Why Those Skeleton Pirates Did Not Attack Any One Who Wore Their Eye Patches!"
As the others gathered around Amur showed them the Toothless Dragon etched into each cutlass, he gave them a few moments to let it sink in and then added.
“I hope this is not the fate we are destined for.”
The words of the rouge sank in the Areldor mind. "Could this be our fate and what about the gold that each of us are carrying. I wonder what purpose we will find for it?" Then the seekers moved toward the sound of the "happy water" from the north.
The sound of the water grew louder but there was no sign of a river. That was strange to the illusionist, but Crow and Tohmas confirmed that the river was underground. Since the team had stopped, Areldor cleaned more of the dust off his tunic and made sure he had the gold that was given and that his gear was secure. Then from out of nowhere Bartimeous tapped in to his divine power and made any hidden gold glow. I was then the gnome foolishly reached into the hole in a pile of rubble and pulled out the glowing booty. It happened to fast for Areldor to react. Amur was there quickly and jokingly chastised the gnome and discovered that the rubble was covering a passage that went down. "Well did anyone bring a shovel? I wish one of my tricks could make disappear." he said with a slight smile. He was not looking foreword to going underground. These stories he does remember from his days at the tavern. They gave him nightmares as a child how the endless dark hallways and getting lost and the strange creatures. His body shook as the group spoke about moving the rubble and how to proceed after. "Well I am glad I brought this lantern." So as the conversation continued Areldor took off his pack to retrieve his lantern.
