Yeah, no problem. Thanks for keeping this going! I'm truly enjoying it. And I'm curious where the rat thing is going. . .

So does it seem to me like we're the only two in the party now? How's that gonna work? Especially curious now due to the possiblity of combat. . .

If you are willing to cycle in some replacement players, some of my regular group may just be interested. I'm not gonna say anything without permission of course, this is your game and I'd hate to throw in any wrenches.

I support it

This is not my game, I'm just a player in it, so this is just an opinion . . .  but I'd be in support of adding new players to replace those we seem to have lost.  We do seem to be down to two players and it is a game I'd love to see continue.

As for the rat thing - may I suggest telling him (I'm assuming that in some way you will go along with the rat hunting thing, but it is your call.) that you will likely do it but want to bring a friend or two along to assist.  Perhaps you can get back to him later or tomorrow?  I guess I'm assuming you'd bring Kheric along on such an adventure but right now nobody else in the bar knows the two of them know each other and it might be best to keep it that way for now.  I'd inquire about when it needs to be done and if this will be a battle or a simple killing of young livestock.  How old are these diseased ones and what does the disease make them do?  Is it a rabies (lycanthropy?) sort of thing or just the plague.  Just the plague.  Is it transmittable to humanoids?  Just some thoughts - more than I thought when I first started typing.

Decicio, if you have people who would like to join I am all for pausing to allow them to join, I was thinking of posting in the recruitment thread looking for new people anyway.

Ok, sweet thanks! I already contacted a select few of my friends and two of them already agreed. I'll send you their contact info via Discord since that's how we tend to stay in touch for our own campaigns.

They are a married couple. The husband is a good friend of mine, I worked with him in the Philippines (so don't be surprised if he has his character speak Elven ) and he actually introduced me to Pathfinder. His wife is a newer player, her first character is about to reach level 6 in my own campaign. She's picking it up really well and particularly enjoys the roleplaying aspects, so I think they will be a good fit for the campaign.

As for the rat thing, I'm going to wait to see what info he gives (hopefully including that about the disease itself) before deciding who to involve. In character, Asoel doesn't yet know the party very well and doesn't know if the group would be as forgiving of Rikkel's illegal activity as he himself was, so if it seems like something he can handle alone with relative safety, he may attempt that. If it could be risky however, he'll try to tactfully broach the subject with Kheric (and perhaps our new players) privately since, as you pointed out, we're trying to appear to be separate at the moment.

Edit: Ok I figured the simplest way to share contact info was to set up a group message on discord. Already did that, so feel free to talk to them whenever.

Curious

I'm just curious about where we are at with the new players.  I missed a post before and don't want it to happen again, but if there is a week or so hold while we get new players set up that is worth it.

Making Progress I believe

Echario would know more, but from what I've seen, two of the players should be pretty close. They went through and did all their background rolls, have great character ideas, etc. I just don't know how close they are to completing their character sheets. The new playtest may have something to do with that, our group has been rather distracted trying to participate with that . We play Monday though so I can ask then.

As for the last player, he's seen his card at least but I have no idea as to whether he's done much else. Good news is though, I see him in person tomorrow, so I can ask!

I apoligize Nomad, I should have posted that we were on a short hiatus while the new recruits get ready.  I'll post again once we get ready to start up again.  Thank you for you continued patience in the matter.

Curious, Part 2

Thanks for the update - I'm glad that we will have some new players joining.

And I'm curious - what Magic cards did they get??

Idk if the actual cards will be posted. Last I heard, sounds like we're getting an oracle, warpriest, and wizard.

Just as an update, I asked them all how they are doing. They are still interested and want to join, but haven't had time to finalize characters. Idk if we want to continue until they are ready or keep waiting, but I'll keep encouraging them.

A month later and the plaguye of candy is getting worse.  Any word on the new recruits to try and solve this little crisis?

Sorry that it took forever!

So I regret to report that the players who were so excited to join and had started making characters have had to back out. One has been reassigned to a new military base/job (and so his wife is also dropping out), the other is too busy with classwork to even finish.

Sorry. I feel extra bad because I vouched for them so it is my fault nothing has happened in so long. They were all very excited though, it just didn't work out. I'm still here are raring to go. Do we wanna make this a two man party? Or have us control two characters each? Or have someone else find more reliable friends?

I'm still in

That is a bummer, but it is hard to argue with getting sent to a new base.

As for the game, I'm in.  Kheric is still curious about the candy - although not in a tryin' it sort of way.  I'm ok with either a 2-person party or running two characters.

I don't have anyone at the moment I can add to the group as a new player, although I am now starting a campaign with some new innmates so perhaps given just a little time they will become addicted and be looking for more games.  But not yet.

Well I've exhausted all my players too. Sorry that it stalled us. But I'm definately in. I think by this point in time, we've shown that the core of us three are surprisingly regular with our postings. So we could certainly pull it off. We just need to figure out the best way to adjust.

okay...

So the way I see it, we have a few options...

1. We continue with the 2 of you, an odd buddy-cop Elf + Dhampir duo.

2. I post in recruitment again and we hope someone shows interest and gets a character completed to join this crusade against candy.

3. As was brought up earlier, you each play another character in addition to the buddy cop duo in option 1.

4. I can make a DMPC and we move forward with 3, though admittedly a DMPC can be a hard thing to pull off correctly...

I leave the option open to you, the players, and we will try to get this moving again before month's end.

I feel options 1, 3, or 4 would be best. I think we've waited long enough trying to add others, and we can't fully trust that further intrest will come (or, as in the case of my friends, interest will be there but won't be enough to actually cement interaction).

Option 1 would be very fun, though interesting to balance. I do like the idea of a literal buddy-cop storyline within an actual investigation-based adventure. If we do go this route, I'm suddenly VERY glad I took Breadth of Experience, as we're gonna need a nice wide variety of skills with just the two of us. If we want things to be better balanced mechanically though, particularly for combat though, us playing 2 characters also works.

I would almost consider doing a buddy cop gestalt thing to even out the mechanics and our abilities. The problem is though justifying our characters suddenly becoming gestalt narratively, so not sure it is really viable.
