"Well, I was." She smiled warmly.

"I'll believe you then. So then, what is the source of this emotion, if it's not Lyca, then who?"

She pulled closer to him.

"You."

"And so you find this to be the best emotion to act on? Again; Lust or Love? Envy to have what Lyca had? What do you feel?"

"I feel no envy towards Erina. I lust for you, but since you cannot show me your face, I cannot love you. Not yet."

"Then lust. Lust to your heart's content. Unless I haven't made this clear, my mask is not coming off anytime soon. But you can lust all you want."

D'Artigo's exposed eyebrow rose up a bit.

"I don't mind D'Artigo."

"Then all I will say is indulge yourself. When you are queen of the Vampires, then I shall serve you. Make this realm safe. Make this realm so that I can stride unmasked. Make it so that you can see me for who I am."

"I will. I promise." She hugged him.

Miv started giggling after a few seconds.

D'Artigo returned the hug. It was something that he hadn't felt for a long time... a simple show of emotion, not something that was too extravagant... he liked it.

When Miv began to giggle, D'Artigo looked at her. "What's so funny."

"You're always lusting after everyone, and now I am. Our roles switched!" Miv laughed and buried her face against him.

"Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say I lust after everyone... After all, I've never been attracted to a man."

Miv laughed again. When she spoke, her voice was soft. "I fear you shall end up permanently in my court, D'Artigo." She looked up at him with round eyes. "That is, if you wanted to stay."

"Well, I'm not sure I have a choice in the matter. I've nowhere else to go, and no real reason to leave." D'Artigo sighed. "The world is large, but there's not many places that I've been that have felt like a home."

"Then it's settled." She reached for his hand.
