Wakeful and Dreaming Eyes

I see where those terms/descriptions would definitely make sense and be used, especially by a Khr'dun. In fact, I kind of think I may have alluded to something like that in "Khr'a's Awakening" ... Or maybe it's only in my notes, atm... Hmmm...

Either way, I fully approve of and endorse the use of both!

Found it!

I did reference Khr'a dreaming, of course, just wasn't sure that I had really connected it in any fashion with the moon. So, I went back and scoured the text and found this snippet:

"Khr’a watched these things until her left eye, too, began to tire, and, as she fell into slumber, once more, she sought to dream of what she might see when next she gazed upon them."

So, that definitely cinches the "Dreaming Eye" connection... especially if the moon is in a waning or new phase, I would think.

Fun Fact

Kith's name is a little bit of a blending of both her mom and dad's names. Because I decided that's the kind of dad Randel was, I chose his name, obviously, because KithRAN/RANdel.

One of the main reasons I didn't spell it like the normy "Randall" is because I work with a dude with that name and I really didn't want to feel like I was naming Kithy's dad after him, and didn't want to conjure work Randall's face when I was thinking of Randel.

All of this is just to say that the amount of times now that I am writing emails to work Randall, or have to type his name as a part of a group thing, and I am spelling his name Randel instead, is just getting out of hand. I usually catch myself, but as someone who gets frustrated because no one can seem to get "Breann" right, even though my name is right there in my signature, Wendy, it's a little disappointing lol.

And that concludes today's random tangent.

Hah

The risks you take when naming characters

Funny enough, both of my names are a pain for anyone to spell by sound alone; thankfully my name is on my electronic profile at work for work chat so everyone knows the spelling as a result of seeing it there

BRENDA

*hyperventilating*

The weird variations of Breann, I get, Breann is sort of a random version of that name anyway, but Brenda? That one felt personal.

okay, I'm truly done with my name trauma.

Back to this tiny little father-daughter post.

LOL

Try having a last name like McBroom. First, you get all the "make fun of it" things (until you start making fun of it yourself, which, I suppose, takes the fun out of it for others), then, you get the folks that just don't want to believe that's really your name and/or just can't read.

I think the best one I've ever had, though, was the telemarketer who called and asked to speak to Robert M.C. Broom... M.C. Broom? Nope... noone here by that name but, here, talk to D.J. Dustpan!

I'll have one McBroom with fries

oh man, I can only imagine!

As an Inglesby, I get, "can I speak with Miss... In... Inge... Ing-lesbi... Les-bye?"

Ah, no, you have the wrong number.

Drill instructor in boot...

DI: "WTF is a McBroom?"

Me: "Sir! A McBroom is what the McJanitor at McDonald's uses to Sweep the McFloor, sir!"

DI: "Get on your face and push, private!"

I'm still giggling

At Breeble's reaction to Adedre's nails. Can't help but think about the sharp, claw like nails I had during halloween last year

Yeah but

Yours were probably taken care of way better, and way more sanitary than that nasty ass slitch's *shiver*

Ugh, I've got chills, they're multiplyin', it's not great.
