Good place for Trek info and timeline stuff
There is mondo-huge wiki devoted to Trek info at Memory Alpha that can be used to find places that your Marines might have served. Given the current timeframe of the game, your most recent postings/assignments would probably have been related to the Second Federation-Klingon War (2372-2373) and most recently, early engagements in the start of the Dominion War (Memory Alpha has detailed info on both of these conflicts, of course). Prior to that, look at possible training deployments, posts aboard starships, bases, etc... Maybe your unit has even made excursions into the Gamma Quadrant before (hence your particular platoon being assigned to this mission to begin with)... The Wormhole to the Gamma quadrant was 'discovered' in 2369 (shortly after the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor ended and the Federation took control of DS9) and there was some initial exploration of the Gamma Quadrant in the following year or so before the first encounter with the Dominion and their Jem'hadar soldiers.
As far as coming aboard goes... Cerberus is still in spacedock at Starbase 10 and will be there for the next 3 days (game time), pleanty of time left for the MACO unit to board before we ship out to DS9. My recommendation, honestly, since we've picked up a CO for the MACO group, is to coordinate with those players and determine where/when the Marines will board (be it at SB 10, en route to DS9, or after Cerberus arrives at DS9 - all valid possibilities)... I imagine that all non-comms (i.e. enlisted personnel) would arrive as a group (unless, just prior to this assignment they were on leave/liberty and received orders to report). The officers may arrive ahead of, along with, or after the platoon, of course... here's the MACO contingent as it stands right now:
Platoon CO - Capt Jasper Caide - Vesper
Platoon Command NCO - MSgt Brianna McQueen - Brianna
Alpha Squad Leader/Fireteam Alpha 1 Team leader - SSgt James Taggart - Suicidolt
Beta Squad Leader/Fireteam Beta 1 Team Leader - GySgt Rhiannon McQueen - Dragon Mistress
Chatter amongst yourselves is encouraged where the MACO detachment arrival is concerned... you guys are the unit, after all, and, as such, likely travel/live/work together.

Quick update...
As noted in the Charon recruitment thread, there will be Marines (at least one squad) posted to the Charon.
Also, edited my previous post to add DMs marine character... I "busted her down" to GySgt, DM, just to keep things level... besides, what's a Marine platoon without a Gunny? Dead before the boots hit the dirt, Devil Dog!

We didn't die before leaving dry dock, did we?
There was some fierce momentum here for a while. Where'd it go?
I thought we were going to make history by having the most players ever in a single game!

Waiting :(
Lots waiting on Rrowl/AKA Olan as he needs to react and interact with the Romulan Commander, ME. I have been waiting since the 26th, my last post.
As for the rest I am not sure. My sister has to post her intro. And I have a friend that is going to be one of My Romulans that is fleshing out her character. I also have to flesh out my Marine, who I think will go the the Charon--we will see. Eol busted her to Gunnery Sgt she is the twin sister of the MACO Commanding NCO.
We need a 10 Forward so that people not dealing with ship things can drink and gab there.
Is there a Bar, or Lounge onboard the Cerberus? It would be a great place for people to introduce themselves.

Still here
I'm half way through a post, I just haven't had a lot of time to finish it.
And yes I think all Federation vessels have a lounge/somewhere to eat.

We live...
The delay is partly my fault, I think. I've got some replies that need posted and such but the past few days - having been consumed by a case of the icks, end of the month metrics, company holiday parties, etc - being what they were, I've not had a lot of opportunities to play "catch up"... Working on that today.
As far as a lounge, each ship has one located on deck 5. Neither is as 'grand' as 10 Forward, of course... we're just small gunboats, after all...

Too many chiefs not enough indians?
I've been reviewing the crew roster a bit and have noticed that we've got a whole heapin' helpin' of Lt Commanders floating around... not that that's neccessarily a bad thing, mind you, buuuuut...
("aww, man, ya knew he was gonna say 'but'."
"yeah, eol's got a thing about 'buts'."
"but what?")
...but, aboard these two ships, I think the ratio of "high ranking" officers would be just a bit smaller... Probably moreso abaord the Cerberus as she's a "new ship/new crew" type (not to mention her CO is technically only a Commander himself). Anyhoo, I may do a little bit of "rank juggling" just to 'level things out' a little bit. Keep in mind that none of it is intended as an 'offense' in any way, shape or form and, it's likely not going to be a broad swath of demotions or anything... just a tweak here and there.
Keep in mind that "Dept heads" really only need to be as high in rank as Lt. Aboard the Cerberus, especially, this is liable to be the 'standard' to start out with. Heck, Fleet couldn't even get a full Captain to take command of her.

MIA Rrowl
Sorry, I will endeavor to post today - I have been out of town, y'see.
I agree with our intrepid captain regarding rank and such. If you go by the various televised series, department heads are usually lieutenants... in rare cases, even jg lieutenants.
Now, that can change over time, of course, and it's not unheard of by any means for a lieutenant commander to be a department head - but this would usually happen on bigger ships. Seeing as how our respective crew compliments are small, and how the Cerberus' CO is only a commander himself, I'd expect her to be a somewhat junior staff, service time-wise.

Holo?
Is there a holodeck onboard the Serebus and what sort of bunking facilities are there for the MACO M. Sgt. Or do I bunk with my "men"

"Entertainment" and Bunks
There is a holodeck and a handful of holosuites as well as other recreational facilities on Deck 5.
As a MACO non-comm (Sgt or higher) you have the option of bunking in NCO quarters (shared with two or three other non-comms and also located on Deck 5) or bunking in the barracks with your squad... if you're the leader of one of the fireteams, bunking in the barracks with the rest of your team would make the most sense, I think. All MACO personnel of rank Cpl or lower are required to bunk in the barracks. (Rapid deployment, readiness, esprit de corps, and all of that, you know?)...

Welcome the CSO
All righty, thanks to some enthusiastic recruitment, we've managed to land a Chief Science Officer for the Cerberus.
"Lt Solus" will be played by brand-spanking-new Innmate, Devalero. Make him feel welcome, won't ya?

Yeah, Welcome
If your Starfleet you get a proper welcome, if you're a Romulan you get a thinly veiled warning.

Capt. Caide's Entrance
Figured I'd come aboard at DS9, seeing as how my character is from Bajor. He just went back home for a couple of months to help in rebuilding in stuff before going back out in the field.
