er...

I'm having a bit of trouble with this post. I'm trying to figure out my relationship with our new player...don't rush this, let me explain. Based on exponential growth (not as complicated as it sounds) it was MUCH more likely for her to remember Pio than Llammoth. Also, the 5 years, though a brief time, was (as I understood it) a time of great growth for the orphanage, separating the two even more. On the other hand....Orcs are much shorter-lived creatures. They breed like rabbits too, so 17 is actually very old (several kids type thing) for an orc, so Llammoth, which would put her in Percifeer's age group. The question is, is this out Ormander would have done things? Would this mean they would have likely been close? I am very confused as this character throws a big monkey wrench into my whole concept unless I understand more.

Thanks,
Sui

Edit: sorry about the grammar mistakes...I'm pretty drunk

It is a Complication...

When did your character leave the orphanage...? The likelyhood of our characters knowing each other is high... though for how many years is the question. I'm going to say that Llammoth arrived at the orphanage at age nine. That would mean that unless you left when you were 14, we would have known each other. How closely is questionable. Llammoth would have been fairly reclusive, spending most of her time in the garden, unless she had to work off her debt to the merchant. She was also quite dumb when she arrived, and hostile too... it took her four years to become the more civil version of herself that is present now, and another four years to refine that which is not second nature to half-orcs. So, given your characters past, I can't see why we would have liked each other, unless Percy had some sort of fondness for the young girl. That is a possibility. perhaps we should continue this conversation via PM's and find a way to relate to one another.

aquaintance

I'm sure you've ALL met at some point, but the question is how involved you were in each other's lives. If Llammoth was a student of stealth, she would not have been seen much at the orphanage at later age. Although normal stealing doesn't happen anymore at the orphanage, there are plenty of other things involved for rogues to enjoy.

Hehe, I'm a little slow

I figure I should ask before I just hand in my character sheet with mysterious spells and such.
I inquire whether I can be part Swashbuckler, but a little more importantly, if I can utilize the Spell Compendium for my pretty Illusions. Sorry if I'm taking longer than is desired, I shall hand in soon with as much character description as I can muster.

spells

spellcompendium is good for use

And Swashbuckler... I'm not sure in which book I can find that one. Tell me, I'll look it up, and I'll let you know.

Concening the Swashbuckler

They're a base class in Complete Warrior, they have high BAB, good Fort saves, and for the level I'll be taking of it, they get Weapon Finesse as a class feature. Whatever else you need to know is there, though I suppose that would be obvious . . . .

also

I have updated the game finally. Conversation is definately over for now, and action is at hand!!!

Sibelius, if you get your character done in time, we'll get him/her in the battle from another angle, with the excuse that you were being late for the meeting and heard the group had left for the Broken Grommel tavern. If you don't have it done in time... then what's keeping you! j/k

Get to posting guys!!

Still here...

Sorry all, I'm still here. I've been wrestling with the flu for the last week and have been trying to keep up at work. So far I've been losing the battle. I'm hoping for better health tomorrow and a snow day!

My extremely apologies! Please continue to move the story onwards. I hope to post soon.

With regards to the potential fight ahead, Pio would likely tell the thug that he has already received his fair share of our wealth, and that he and his friends would be best to leave us alone. [Attempt an intimidate check]

Failing the check, Pio will attempt knock his opponents out as opposed to kill them.

a couple of things

Hey, I'm still here. I definitely haven't lost interest. First thing was, I was intending (as magic users are support characters) to post after one or two other players in this regard. Then, unfortunately, I caught a rather nasty bug. I still am having trouble posting this actually.

Further, as I was reading your post, something occurred to me, which you will see on the character sheet. Percifeer doesn't have a purse. All of her money is in her bag of holding, and if that was cut, (she probably would have felt the magical aura vanish) she will be FURIOUS. The enemies will NOT be walking away. There won't even be pieces of them left to interrogate.

nah

just the purses were cut. I was assuming that everybody would have at least some coinage in a small purse, even if it's not on the character sheet. You don't want to dig into your backpack or bag of holding every time you want to pay for a beer or meal, right?

Hehe

That's what they make around-the-neck pouches for. But she hasn't figured that out yet. She's lived in a mage tower mostly. She hasn't run into a lot of that stuff.

Quick Note

I post this mostly because it took me a while to realize possible confusion with my post due to my less-than-clear-mind at the moment. I made some assumptions there. A: Percifeer is a sorceress, therefore casts spells slightly differently than wizards (thus she spoke common there rather than draconic)) If that is unacceptable, then it is fine that she speaks those words in draconic, as they will make no more sense to anyone than if she had been speaking in orcish to the half-orc in the party, and little more sense than the words did in common anyway. B: I also assumed that Pio will continue to try to calm the enemies. If that is not the case, then she would, of course, join the foray immediately in the manner explained (quick draw, load, spell, fire).

If I was right....you've got about 15 seconds Pio based on my math of how long it takes to slowly move through those actions. I hope, for their sake, you get them to leave by then.
