Trillion
"Yes, I see the aura of lingering magics on this place. There is one that is of abjuration and Transmutation that I think ws a Hide from Undead, and the other near the damp spots about the fields is Conjuration/Creation and I think it has the same feel of what is left in Badon, but to a lesser degree.

Mora
Mora finally gets to their names, "Dad, Mom, this is Ninian," she has to think a bit, "Trillion, Selenine, and Achilles."
She points to each as she speaks. "Oh course you know Hector. Unless anyone ran out and kept running, Hector is the only one survivor of Badon."
"Mom, Dad, you have to leave here. The undead may come this way and there are hundreds of them." Here is a sound of frantic pleading in her words, something she had never felt before this day, but after seeing the figure of townspeople ripping off their clothes, skin, and all other flesh was enought to rattle anyone.

Mora's Home
"Morasennarion, what do you mean undead? We haven't seen anything around here except for that young traveling man." Mora's father looks at her with a concerned look on his face.
"We just saw a bright light, that's all. Have all the inhabitants died? I can't believe that... Badon was a metropolis! Last year, when there was the official count, it held more than 23 million inhabitants! To kill them all without a massive invading army is impossible!" Mora's mother was beginning to panic.
Hector walks up beside Mora and nods to her parents. "Sir, Miss, I fear that what Mora here says is true. Badon was... decimated. And the citizens somehow were infected, and turned into mindless skeletons. It's gruesome."
Mora's parents looked at each other, then looked at the house. Then, they looked back at Mora, and her father said, "Look... Mora. There's something to be said about sentimental value. We can't leave just because of what has happened. I know this might be hard for you to believe, since we never saw eye to eye... but we can't leave here. We built this place, and we aren't willing to give it up. We'll be fine. If anything comes after us, we'll hide in the cellar. But really, we aren't going to pack up and leave. We have to stay here."
As Mora talks with her parents, Selunine and Trillion continue scanning for magical residue. Their knowledge and experience with magic helps them identify the fields... and the continuation of there study also helps them notice the locations of the magic.
Many of the minor auras they see scattered about the land are of the Conjuration school, with the Creation subschool. Noticing the ground around these auras is wet, the two are able to piece this together as residue of the "Create Water" spell.
A few of the other minor auras that you see are much more scattered, though they happen near objects, such as fences, shovels, plows... with the nature of the objects in mint condition, although they should be old, you guess this to be the residue of a "Mending" spell.
The abjuration auras, however, are very few. In fact, there are only three. After focusing on them, you notice that the three auras happen to be surrounding Mora's parents and her dog. You the aura itself appears slightly grey in colour, and from your studies and experiences, you place the name of a "Hide From Undead" spell upon them. Someone must've come by and cast it on the persons.
However, as you turn your gaze to Badon - or what remains of it - your body feels slick, like a grease or an oil was poured all over you. The aura is very powerful... and it is like nothing you've seen before. The power the reverberates off of this aura is unimaginable. You can't place a name to the spell, though it is of the Conjuration school, and creation subschool, just like the water was... though somehow you doubt this was the same spell.
Achilles chose to take his time drawing in the ground. He didn't have an extensive knowledge of Badon, but when he was on the spire, he had managed to see a few things. He saw the harbour, a few of the main roads, a couple of gates... but one thing he had noticed was there was no castle. That seemed odd.
But while he was drawing in the ground, he began to hear a soft clunk. Prodding with his stick, he found that there was a small box that was there that he had been prodding. It is a blue metallic box with golden patterns spun in to it, untarnished by rust. It felt incredibly light, despite it's size. It seemed to be as large as a carriage wheel. It didn't seem opened...

Divination
Selunine studied the magical auras intently. Slowly residues of the matrices that had formed them became clear to her. A host of minor cantrips and simple spells of utility decorated the field, nothing of grave concern. Her eyes narrowed as they fell on Mora's family and the grey auras surrounding them, auras that hid them from the undead. The many magical auras around their home meant that one of them certainly practiced the Art, and the abjurant auras on their bodies pointed to them knowing more than they let on. She would have to be wary of them should they remain together.
Moving close to Trillion she whispers softly. "It seems certain that one of Mora's parents practice the Art. I believe they may well know more than they are letting on, tread with caution my friend."
Selunine turns her gaze from Trillion to the intense aura above Badon. An oily sensation overcame her body each time she looked in the direction of what remained of the city. That the aura was of conjuration was evident, but she could not recognize anything beyond that. The fey narrowed her eyes, that she could not recognize an aura of such might worried her to no end.
"Let us see if more mighty divinations can further illuminate that aura."
Taking a step forward she stared intently at the aura of Badon. After a few deep breaths she began to gesticulate, her fingers nimbly tracing esoteric symbols in the air. The enchantress began to chant softly and slowly her arcane words grew in volume and intensity. All the while her violet eyes remained fixed on Badon glowing brighter and brighter.
(OOC: **Edit** Casts Legend Lore via Limited Wish on the magical aura at Badon.)

Mora
Plead as she might she could not get her parents to budge. Why? Her eyes continued to question when her voice ceased.
Finally she stood back from them, tears running down her face, though she did not give into acutually weeping audibly.
For the longest while she just stared between them and Badon, "I...I can't stay, I can't let this happen elsewhere. People need to be warned. Whatever caused this must be stopped."
She was surprised at the conviction in her own voice, she hadn't even concidered playing any sort of part in the aftermath of what happened to Badon. It simply tumbled out in her words, and as she heard herself she knew her words were spoken from her heart.
She turns to go into the house and gather what she could, clothes, necessities, weapons. Her had her own dagger and a bow her mother had given her. Not much in the way of fighting power. She had learned swordsmanship with a wooden sword, Hector and she and some of the boys she had hung out with had chipped in money for lessons for an old sergeant of the army who had retired to Badon. They were sdead now, all dead except Hector. She would avenge them, whoever had caused there horrible deaths would pay.

The many faces of Achilles
Achilles has one thing to say.
"Woahoah, what do we have here."
Achilles decides he's going to help himself to this nice surprise. As Achilles bust out a Block and Tackle he says
"Which ones of yous care to give me a hand?"
Knowing how light it felt he didn't expect to use it but he still had the block and tackle out.
"One of yous got a spade lying 'rounds here? And brings me some cloth too."
Achilles decides he is going to use a spade in fear of a possible trap. And to place pull it out he plans to grip it with the cloth.

Mora's Home
"Mora... we understand. You've always been strong and dedicated to a cause. Just like you can't convince us to leave, we can't convince you to stay. But we know that you'll be fine. Just make sure you come back to us alive." Tears were forming in her father's eyes as he spoke. He was fighting not to cry.
Mora's mother on the other hand, had no such luck. Tears rolled down her face. She rose and embraced Mora, a worried expression on her face. She couldn't speak, but she held Mora close. After she finished crying though, she releases her and looks Mora in the eyes. Giving a short nod, she turns away, and goes back to her seat.
Inside the house, Mora finds all of her weapons, some spare clothes, and some spare food.
Selunine stares intently at Badon, then opens herself to her magical powers. With the powers of magic flowing through her, and the magnitude of the spell, Selunine gets lifted off the ground briefly. Her eyes close, and when they reopen the pupils and irises are missing, the eyes a single colour of white. Images and thoughts bombard her mind as her mind glimpses the past where there has been a similar effect.
When she has finished the spell, Selunine's body softly makes contact with the earth again, her knowledge now a part of her.
Achilles is ignored by everyone around him, each already preoccupied by their own happenings. So, instead, he continues to dig, and eventually gets the box out, and lays it down. Upon setting the box down, the lock falls off, and nothing happens, so Achilles assumes that it is trap free.
Upon opening the box, Achilles finds a pendant, with a brilliant gold gemstone on it. Inside the stone, you can see the image of a dragon's head, its eyes like stars.
Also with the pendant, there is a book, very thick, and very old. It's pages seem very delicate, and it is leather bound, with thick covers. There are strange markings on the cover which you are unable to read, however they could possibly be the title to the book.

Trillion's Interest is Piqued
(OOC: orry I was away for Memoral Day weekend. This is in response to Achilles Post)
Trillion hears Achilles call out for a spad. Seeing the item laying across the yard she goes to pick it up surprised at its condition but takes it over to Achilles.
"What did you find? Perhaps it belongs to Mora's parents. You should ask them first." Trillion mentions as Achilles digs up an old box.
Trillion was willing to use magic to open it safely but her just went about it thr old fashion way. Trillion peers over his shoulder when he opens it up.
She saw the pendant and it was a fine piece but it was the book that held her attention. SHE tries to decipher the symbols on the book which just may be a titlt or perhaps runes of protection.
"Why don't you let me detect magic on those things before you touch them."

As Achilles moans as he says
"So once i find some nice loot, you are interested in my box huh?"
He motions the book at Trillion(Not Dragon Mistress) and he says
"Have at it. No way i could ever tell what it meant. Aye' maybe we should go ask them about this. But someone is already ahead of me."
Achilles decides everyone else is handling this situation as he goes to put the spade back. And all his stuff into his sack.
Still he wonders, how did no one notice him digging out a box. All your box are belong to me, he mutters.

Trillion
Trillion turns to Achilles, "I do not claim what you found. I just said if it belongs to MOra's parents it is theirs. regardless of the fact that you found it. If they know nothing about it then it is yours to claim."
"I offer my services to detect and identify the magic. Unless you can do it by yourself, can you?"
"I will admit I am curious about the contents," Trillion turns and sees That Selunine has fallen and runs over to her.
She checks her out to see what has happened.

Postcognition
As Selunine finished her casting the power of her spell filled her. The magic that coursed through her veins pulsed with power and she vibrated with its rhythm at the very core of her being. She closed her eyes and felt her body lift from the ground.
Her eyes opened to see not the field before her but rather swirling mists thick and impenetrable. She reached out into the mist with her mind and slowly she parted the mists of time. The ages passed before her and through her as visions of the past moved before her sinking deep into her mind. As the last of the visions sunk into the enchantress the mists returned once again swallowing the past in their swirling obsfucation.
Selunine closed her eyes again and as the power of the spell left her she softly sank to the ground. Standing she opened her violet eyes and gasped. The fey looked up to the conflagration that had been Badon and shook her head, the power that had consumed the city had not been invoked since the war of Dragons and Men. Realization that Arianna's vision would come to pass overcame her and she gasped again stumbling forward.
Trillion's hand caught her, in her trance she had not even noticed the woman's approach. Grasping Trillion's arm in return she looked into the other woman's eyes with the intensity of her visions still emanating from her own.
"My friend, events most grave have come to pass. The conjured magics that seared Badon have not been called since the wars of Dragons and Men five centuries past. Its history is painted with chaos and destruction. It is the breath of Melios."
Selunine paused a moment to close her eyes, continuing her voice took on a far away tone. "What should have been forgotten has been remembered. What has been seen shall become. What should not be is..."

Trillion's Vow
Trillion support Selenine it was clearly apparent that the woman had been overcome with the enormity of what had happened while she was in her arcane trance. She could well suspect what it was she used to gain such understanding.
"Come sit and compose yourself. Then tell me what details you gain from your spell.
What you say is important enough to not miss a word of what you found out. I will see if Mora's parents have something you can drink."
Trillion sat down beside Selenine. If it is the Breath of Melios then it seems he has risen, by himself or through the efforts of others. It is a sad day what such a creature is out and about again in our world.
"There is much left to learn but I know one thing clearly. I must contend against this evil with all my strength and all my abilities without stint."
"I vow this that I will do everything I can to overcome the evil that is Melios and his followers." Trillion speaks her pledge solemnly

Legend and Lore
Selunine let Trillion lead her off to sit down. Without a focus the magics that allowed her eyes to pierce the boundaries of time had drained her, and it would be some time before she regained what had been lost to the spell. In the mean time there were grave matters at hand.
Her mind traced back to the last moments before she left the Misty Isle. At the tower doorways with mist swirling around them Arianna had tried to stop her journey to Shrie. The mighty Aos Si seeress had forseen the scorching return of the dragons, and it seemed that her vision would come to pass. She had come to Shrie to save this world from Melios and the draconic onslaught, but more and more she began to wonder if her quest was doomed. Had she been mistaken in leaving the lands of her people? Would she ever return?
The fey enchantress sighed. This land held so many peoples and the deserved a chance, the deserved to know what had been forseen. It was for this that she left her home, and for this alone she had come here. She had been unable to watch the world burn and do nothing, and now was the time to act. Selunine looked up to Trillion, her only true companion in this strange world. It was time the woman learned of what had been seen.
She touched the celestial woman's hand and began with a soft intensity. "It is well that you pledge to stand against the power of Melios, perhaps others will follow your lead. The return of the Scaly One is all but eminent. Alone we will be consumed, but if we all stand together perhaps we can hold back the onslaught."
Selunine paused for a moment to look directly into Trillions eyes. Her own violet eyes burned with incandescent light as she continued. "What should have been forgotten has been remembered. The people of Shrie have raised temples to Melios and monolithic testaments of his glory have been erected. This heralds the end of Shrie, the continent cannot withstand another war of Dragons and Men."
"I too have vowed to stand against the Scaly One. Before I met you it was forseen that the dragons would return and they would scorch this world. Since that knowledge came to me I have worked to stop the onslaught. I have sought others to join me in this dire quest. Trillion we have not known one another long but I believe together we can find others of like mind, and perhaps we can save the forsaken land of Shrie."
The enchantress turned from Trillion to gaze at the desecrated city of Badon. "I have called on great power to pierce the veil of time. The searing blast that consumed Badon has been called before. The breath of Melios, it's history is a wholly black thing..."
Selunine's voice begins to grow distant as she recounts her visions of the past.
When Melios was unhappy, it was rumoured that from his mouth he shot a massive gout of energy that was able to destroy mountains and carve valleys.
Long ago, there was a similar event that happened in the world. However, this was in the time when the world wasn't quite as developped, and it was inhabited by plainsmen who believe in cultic rituals. They were very connected to nature, and had treated it with respect. Anything that happened was because nature willed it to be so.
However, new people came. These people treated nature as though it didn't exist. They wouldn't believe that the life was granted by nature. They cut down trees, burnt the fields, killed the animals. This was unacceptable.
The plainsmen decided that they would kill the newcomers in their sleep. However, as they were sneaking, some claim that the largest of the three moons fell from the sky that night, landing directly in the middle of the newcomers camp. The explosion was huge, and it decimated the newcomers and plainsmen both, leaving a gigantic burn where the camp had been, and in much of the surrounding countryside.
In the time of the great war between Dragons and Men, right before their imprisonment, a secret sect of mages, called Nekros, was formed as a neutral group to survive for themselves. This group, however, was very offensive, attacking anyone who came near the group. Their motto was "Death before Defeat", and a preferred tactic was to send one of their number out to join a group of soldiers who seemed to be advancing, and casting this spell. A common trait of all of these members of Nekros was that whenever they were about to cast the spell, they would fall in to a coma. The soldiers would try to find out what was wrong, only to be engulfed by the spell, and being burnt to a crisp.
There is a large plain called "The foot of Sacae" which was a central part in the war between Dragons and Men. On one day, there was a massive bloodbath... with what some guess to be 10 of these castings going off simultaneously. The locals who moved there after the war was completed said that they feel like something is wrong with them being there. Almost like the ground is awakened by some supernatural force. And at night, you can see a faint green glow in some locations along that plain.

Mora
"If the Breath of Melios destroyed Badon then I to vow to see Melios destroyed," and with that she draws her sword and cuts her left hand, letting her blood drop to the earth.
"I pledge my life and blood to defend the earth against Melios and his ilk. I fight for the Light and Good!"
She wipes the blade and returns it to her sheath, then clenched her left hand to close the cut.
