+post

Additional posts are good, so decided I'd finallize mine

I have to say, I'm rather liking Sully and Maggie too. There's some very good interaction going on there

Wowie-zowie!

It's a veritable flurry of posts! *grins*

Yay for Engie! Loved the "mental VR touchscreen" bit, little butterfly!

Looking very forward to getting everyone together and seeing how character interactions go around the table.

Two in one day?!

If you guys are trying to spoil me it's working.

Adore Engie, she's exactly how I imagined she would be fromt he first little tid-bit you posted in the recruitment thread. <3 I am LOVING the characters in this guys, you're amazing.

Hehe I can't wait either, the dynamic between them all is already making me grin.

Of course...

...we're trying to spoil you! What kind of Innmates would we be if we didn't, right?

A non-rotten Innmate is kinda lackluster, you know? Plus, the smell is kinda flat and boring. *winks*

Oh and also...

I'm working on a sort of floorplan as to what is on each level. Anyone have any input on this? I know the engine is on the lowest level, along with Engie's workshop and I suspect the cargo hold would probably be on the level just above so we're not having to haul all that heavy junk up several levels of narrow ship walkways.

I probably will just write said floor plan out... as you guys have seen my awesome paint drawings... heh...-_-;

With such literary treasures to tickle the imagination, how could I be anything but spoiled? Nearly every day there is a new feast for my ever gluttonous brain.

Makes sense...

...for the engine to be on the lowest level, considering that's where the "paddle-wheels" would be poking out of the ship, right? Might even be a level above (in hopes of keeping the sand out, most likely) - half the level or so dedicated to engine and the rest cargo? *shrugs* I dunno... I'm no shipwright, I'm a navigator... I don't build 'em I just make 'em go places and try to keep 'em from getting lost, right?

Anyhoo... Just my inputs on the wheelhouse area, here... I kind of imagined the wheelhouse itself being located about 3/4 of the way toward the aft of the ship... one (maybe two) door leading out onto the deck and a hatch leading up to the "roof" of the wheel house where, likely, Sully's got some sort of observation platform set up (spyglass mounts, wind socks, weather vanes, etc)... Also figure that Sully's tiny little cabin is located directly beneath the wheelhouse and is accessible via a hatch in the floor not too far back from the console(s) where the levers, cranks, and whatnot used to actually steer the ship are located.

*shrugs*

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help out.

If my nautical visualizations are any accurate...

Bottom level - engine/furnace, motors. Provides power to the rest of the ship, and since heat rises, good for those cold desert nights too, keeping the rest of the ship warm. Motors are immediately in the vicinity to keep efficiency at peak (less power lost over distance). Engie's room.

Mid level - storage, galley, other misc rooms (rec room, etc)

Top level - bunks, turbine storage, navigation and bridge

Visualization may be off, and if only two levels can merge mid and top but... I dunno, feels about right to me

*contemplates*

*nods* I'm thinking the ship probably has little observation sort of decks in a lot of places and walkways along the side for repairs to various things.

Screw it, the Falcon is built like a McDonald's play place. if you want to get somewhere you have to slide down the proper tube. (That sounds like something from a paranoia game)

Edit: Yeah, I'm thinking something sorta like that too, miss Butterfly. Funnily enough I was thinking either three or even four levels too.

Ardis gets the monkey bars

That sounds like a horrible way to get whirly-gizmos in horrible places if hopping in and not paying attention.

haha

Well I had been joking about the slide tubes being used to get everywhere but I actually don't see why she couldn't have a slide. It could be a hatch she could close used to dump sand and empty shells that gather in the gun pits. I'm sure Engie easily could have rigged it up so it could serve as an emergency exit of sorts.

They're a rather impractical way of getting everywhere else on the ship though.

Keep up the good work crew, or there'll be floggings!!
