Well,..
You guys can do that, if you want. Just keep in mind that having a mix of character engaged in both range and melee means that you have to be careful to not hit your party member.
The goblins are spread out enough where it kind of still makes sense to do that, but for future reference this won't really work in a bottleneck sitch.

Charge!
Now you may feel free to charge. Dane has loosed his arrow and made for cover.

A Formal Apology
My apologies to all. When I joined this game, I was a little concerned with how a game set in in unfamiliar system that was less character driven would hold my interest. I almost immediately found myself drifting out of it. That isn't anyone's fault but mine. The action oriented, dungeon-runner style of gameplay his hard for me online. This doesn't excuse anything though.
As soon as I felt myself drifting away, I should have contacted Lano and left the game. Instead I just stopped showing up to the inn. This was disrespectful to GM and players alike. Not only did it slow you all down considerably, it was down right rude, something I usually try to avoid. I have no excuse for this either.
Please don't think this is a reflection of the game, Lano. Its a style compatibility thing, and a Chessic-is-being-a-dick thing.
So again, to the group: I'm sorry.

also
Pavel, you didn't need to roll actually, since you're not technically attacking yet (it'll take a turn for you to reach the goblins) but the first roll can be applied to your next attack (but not the second). Was it a natural 15?

yes.
Those rolls were both natural.

Character still matters
While this is a dungeon crawl of sorts (I think) I still hope to make character matter for Dane.
I went ahead and posted for round two since I saw no reason to wait. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes
You were right to post and you are right that it missed. Pavel can also go ahead.
well, we just got started and i do think there have already been some character moments, like how you guys played out discussing what to do next. How much it matters, i can't say for sure.
My main reason for soing this was to learn 5e rules because i dont have many real life people to play with. To that end it has been helpful so far

arrows
At this point, using a bow would risk shooting an ally.

Figured
With a second one joining the fray shooting arrows does seem like a bad idea. I had been assuming they would stay in the woods and shoot arrows which would provide some spacing. Really, someone should talk to these goblins about not sticking to the script.
So, given the situation Dane would switch weapons and charge. He should get a sneak attack bonus if he is attacking someone already engaged, I believe. And, before I post - distances have changed a bit since both Dane and the goblins have moved - will he reach them in one turn or two? In other words, can he swing right away?

Sorry
Still need to waste a turn travelling
edit: Just for more explanation: Distances changed, but not that much, the goblins were in the forested area, not on the edge of it. Even if they did more 20 feet or so, if you're sneak attacking, you're not running at full speed, I figure, you're carefully maneuvering around the enemy.
