Searching the Alcoves

In searching the alcoves, the indigo lantern and red lanterns are missing. Each alcove contains a five foot diameter circle carved into the floor and hanging directly below the lantern. They are flush with the floor. All of the alcoves appear to be identical, except blue alcove. In this alcove it seems that the ceiling is not visible at the end of this shaft and above the lantern the chain appears to continue up into darkness. On the floor underneath the blue alcove is a heap of bones, crushed and broken. The circles in the floor of the indigo, yellow and green do not appear quite as flush with the floor as the other circles do. There may not be any reason for this, however it is something that you notice.

Getting impatient.

"Why don't you just open it, do you realise how much of a tactical nightmare we are in." Lar'd says diverting his attention to the group for just a second with a heavy note of impatience in his voice.

Trillian

Trillian notices the circles of color and also those that were not flush with the floor. WHat bathers her the most the the crumpled body at the base of the one tunnel who lantern chain disappears into the darkness above.

Trillian goes to examine the body that is broken and crushed on the floor. She tries to see it it was killed at this spont behaps by crushing or if perhaps something dropped down on top of it, like a weighted trap or if it had fallen in trying to climb the lantern chain.

After that she retuens to the group for some magical help. a lights spell would be useful.

OOC: Could you intidicate by the numbers on your map what colores go with what tunnels?

Information

The body appears to have fallen and has broken bones from a fall and not something falling on top of it

The scarab is a part of the actual carving and not a separate scarab. In touching it, nothing happens. You are not actually reaching into the coffin but just touching the scarab which is a part of the carving

The colors starting with 3 are missing, orange (lit), yellow, green (lit), blue, missing, violet

Aldaris speaks..

Having been lost in concentration over the meaning and purpose of the coffin, Aldaris is convinced it has to mean something more than simply 'dead man lies here'. Moving over to the left side, he pushes on the coffin base, spinning the coffin -with Jeeve's help-- towards the next color in line .(yellow i believe)

Trillian

Trillian finishes her explorationa dn has decide this person fell perhaps while trying to climb up the long lantern chain or perhaps using spider climb on the walss of the long upward shaft into the darkness above.

Returning to the others by the sarcophagus she clears her throat to gain their attention. Most of them seem to be watching the goins on at that point.

"I think I have found a few things of interest. aand a place for the red and indigo lantern." Also a puzzle perhaps that we need to figure out about the circles at the end of each alcove that radiates from this spot." Triallian states anticipating that some may show interest in what she has to day. THe red lantern needs to be hung in that alcove, she gestures to alcove 3, and the indigo one needs to be in that alcove over there, she gestures to alcove 8. At the end of each alcove is a circle on the floor. most are flush but several are slightly raised above the floor, which might indicat that they move. THe red alcove has not visible over the circle. There is a body under that area that look like it fell from above at lease that is my opinion. I so think we need to look into these matters."

Not quite finished with her suppositions Triallian continues, "Also if you look at the colors they are a rainbow in order starting at read and going all the way to violet."

Trillian wonders what the other might think of her information, THey don't give any answer to what they might need to do to find this but one thing but they could be clues to getting what they had come for. To her way of thinking, finding this item will mean some sort of puzzle that they must figure out. SHe looks aver the effigy of the man lieing on the top of the sarcophagus. You know it looks like he could have been holding something. Perhaps finding that missing finger could be important if it still has something attached to it."

moving the stone coffin

The stylized arrow easily slides across the floor and rests in a new position facing the yellow lantern corridor. A great rumbling from below the chamber can be heard as the circular stone at the end of the corridor rises up into the air revealing a five foot diameter stone cylinder. Seconds after it comes to rest, the cylinder spins revealing a small empty chamber inside.

Aurea

Aurea goes over to look into the cylinder, but does not get to close. She points her torch that way to put as much light into the empty area as possible.

"What if you push the arrow back to where it was," She says to no one in particular. "or continue to push it to the next color?"

Aurea

"Would someone please tell me about this Rod of 7 parts you speak of."

Meanwhile, as the man who turned the coffin had not responded to her request to turn it back, Aurea went to do it herself. She turned it back to where it had been and waited to see what happened. If the cylinder goes back down, then she will move the arrow to eack of the corridors to see if they too have cylinders that come up in them.

(OOC I did say I looked into the cylinder in the orange passage, but I got no comformation for that.)

A story to tell.

Lar'd gets distracted from his post to explain the story by re-telling that the muscle bound guy that hit him with a few bits of information he gained from Allustan before asking Aurea whether she knew what to do or what the others were doing. He also went to the trouble of explaining that they were after it and were on there way and so why he must stand guard.

.

Hunderel stood ground, watching the commotion about him. He listened to the stories, and decided to defend the place with L'ard also. But he was slightly on the fence about this one. Not sure what to do.
