I thought we had 14 people playing. Seems 12 are accounted for. Who are the 2 people we are missing?

P.S. Darque my Elf is only 5' tall. I am not sure he can shoot over a dwarfs head with a bow. Maybe put Oriel in the front as hes Human.

2 more..

Hombre has a dwarf cleric rolled up and ready, just without a name and description.

Same with Shadowdragon his mage/thief is completed but doesn't have a name/description yet.

They will both be joining us.

Welcome to ShadowDragon

Trip said he would utilize players in a defensive mode when we were unable to update our roles, but in whatever capacity you are able to play it is good to have you and your character included in the party as we begin our fateful journey to Orlane!

Order

I think it should be ordered 1. Scout 2. Ranged 3. Melee 4. Support 5. Casters/Thieves 6. Support 7. Scout.

I don't strongly disagree with anything you said there Darque, I just think that ranged warriors should be up front, rather than meat shields. Think of it this way: if you're about to enter a large room, are you gonna want to lead with Conan's broadsword or Robin Hood's arrows? A good archer can get off several shots before fighting even comes into play.

Outdoors it makes less of a difference I guess. Especially since I think it's agreed that rangers should take point. But indoors I definitely think "slings and arrows" should go first.

As for watch, I'm pretty much cool with whatever. Just make sure the spellcasters get their spells.

Deathstalker has only an axe to fight with and lacks respect for those that shoot, sling, throw, or fling their weapons.

Spellcasters and Spell Memorization

What is your general rule on this Trip? I know it varies from DM to DM, but we need to be clear on what is required of mages to memorize and cleric/druids to request their spells each day.

Spell Mem

Clerics/druids already know all spells. They do not have to select their spells for the day either. They can cast any of them at any time, but still must only cast the required number per day. So if you can cast 3 per day, thats all you can cast, but you can cast whatever you want.

I have already spoken with the mages, I have my own different rules concerning mages than most. They will be able to cast more than 1x per day depending on their intelligence, but they will have to memorize certain spells still and let me know which they are carrying daily.

I consider a rest period for memorizing or praying for spells at least 8 hours of a rest and study combo.

Spell Mem Question for Trip

So how does this apply to a Paladin at level 3 Trip?

Darque

I am cool w/ Darque being our leader/spokesperson .... he lives/lived in North Carolina so he cant be all bad ...lol

As an aside I have played D&D since the early 80's thru all its editions ... so I am fairly familiar w/ the rules etc.

Also I have given Trip my spells etc ..so all good on that front

Hey Floyd

Just curious as to what Spells you consider to be the most useful during the course of an adventure from your years of experience with this game?

Throwing Daggers

Trip, I plan on throwing 2 daggers at the onset of an encounter. I know you will roll to see if they hit. Do you roll to see if they break? Is it presumed that I will go get my daggers where ever they land or do I have to state that I go and pick them up or pull them out of the body?

Thanks

Oh and do we now add the 25 gps to our character sheets?

Arrows

I have the same question as DeGotti except about arrows. Are we on auto collect?

My plan....

...was to state I wanted to pick them up after any melee. Until I hear differently from Trip I will state this. I bet though that any bullets from my sling will be lost, but this would be nice to find out if they could be found around bodies. Makes the trip cheaper, and then I woudn't have to get an extra 100 bullets just in case.

hey Hammer

I assume you mean for Paladins? Paladin spells are generally curative in nature ... cure wounds , remove disease , posion , death ward , etc. ....

Been a while since i played 2nd edition but i believe you won't be getting any spells until 9th level or so ... and that is a lllllooooonnnngggggg way off at the pace i imagine we will be moving.

If you meant Wizard spells ... i generally like a bit of crowd control for my guys ..spells like web , hypnotism , sleep, etc. Us wizard types get very few casts per day at low levels so i generally try and pick spells that effect more than one person/creature when i can.

Hope that helps a bit ... anything else please feel free to ask....

If anyone else wants to contact me off these boards for any reason my email is [email protected]

Thanks Floyd

Actually was curious about the Wizard spells you would rely upon!

I think I read where the Paladin gets to use some 1st level Cleric spells at the 3rd level and of course more at the 9th level way off in the future!

Thanks!
