I think Deuce's earlier point was that since the party is splitting up into 'mini-parties' it's relatively easy to have people posting and being updated for at different paces.

that works too

At first I was thinking that instead of continuing with plans that were laid when we had all the players present, we should maybe change the plans to accommodate the smaller number of people (6 splitting into smaller groups could be okay, 3 or 4 splitting up can only end in tears).

However it looks like we still have nearly everyone, so mayhap changing the plans won't be necessary.

Updating at the speed of the smaller groups might work well though, once Life calms down enough for us to start back up again.

that means we're all leaving the keep to escort the caravan out west.

Talus wouldn't really mind, as long as everyone thinks we'll have time to do all of the presented missions one at a time (escort, first contact, and assault).

It is kinda funny that your character finally meets back up with the group and the first thing we do is break off into smaller teams.

Bronwyn

Yes, agreed. It took us forever to join up with the rest of you all. I had hoped earlier that that would have been facilitated, but it wasn't. Six isn’t too large a group ro work together, we have enough diversity of classes that we fill in most the gaps and have some back up in a few.

Bronwyn still hasn’t been able to really meet up with your group except at the dinners and when she waves a greeting. or smile politely when she sees one or the other of the main group. She is trying especially now that Elendil has gone for a while. She feels sort of out of the loop, so to speak. When the game once gets back rolling, I hope to be able to extend that overture of friendship.

Well since Elendil chose to leave the group it has already split up.

Also the caravan only needed 'at least one Light of Starspire' and it may be a mistake for everyone to go off there and leave the Keep defenceless.

It's nice to see talks resumed

Once I know even simply in the q/a a generalized

This is what we're agreeing on doing specifically. I'll go ahead.

There are valid points in both sticking together, and splitting up, leaving some closer to the keep, or leaving the keep 'defenseless' as it were. You do have a standing militia, but no leadership or military combat npc's of note currently.

A question of timing

When is the wagon from Castle Tethyr due to arrive and how close are the goblin infested mines to the north?

Bart said that he'd received word that a caravan "is being sent." We might have time to go clear the mines as a group before they arrive. And then we could split up. Aelistae and Linnix show the caravan safely through our area while the rest of us go see some kobolds.

If the timing works out.

Well whatever we do decide to do, I would like Xaris to stay in the keep for defense.

Bronwyn

Elendil is planing to return. She is off taking care of some loose ends that were initiated as part of her background.

As for Bronwyn, I hope she will be able to join the adventures as they move out and about but she will have to understand what adventuring is all about She knowledge is that of a court or town wizard and not an adventuring wizard. She just has no concept of such a critter.

As Bronwyne player of Bronwyn's Player, I certInly want her to get involved with adventuring

Right now Bronwyn is working on making scrolls, potions and other such things for sale spending the money she got on the needed components using the money she got from the loots that the group gave her. Of course she is saving enough saving only enough for living expenses for 6 months just in case. She can be frugal about those.

Somebody talk to Bronwyn at lunch or dinner which she soes show up for if not she is off practicing her craft except for an evening or morning stroll out to Buttercup's grave site if you are about perhaps we can get some things sorted out.

Depending on Timing

The Mine's are relatively close, less than a days travel away, as Bronwyn and elendil passed them on the way towards the keep on their travels through the woods.

It is theoretically more than possible to do what need be done in the mines before the caravan is scheduled to arrive, providing nothing tragic befalls you in the mines, or you get too involved with whatever may be within.

If Xaris wishes to stay behind, that's fine as well, I'll run some training rp or whatnot in the meantime.

As for Bronwyn's Potion and scroll making. Deuce's breakdown of how it's done is pretty much spot on t othe rules. So, if we say you've got a week to work on item creation, the standard increment for such things. You'll need to let me know exactly what you're wanting to make and I'll make daily rolls and when items are finished, I'll let you know what's made or wasted.

Typically for item creation, I like a Work in progress list from most important to be completed downwards. And I allow for items to be worked upon in shorter increments than the standard 8hours, provided the materials and facilities are available.

For Example. After the morning meeting, it is decided that the caravan will arrive at noon. There are a few hours before the party is expected to leave. If a smith wants to spend those two hours working on a dagger, or Bronwyn wants to make a a scroll, they can try to do so. I increase the DC of such items on a ratio based on the amount of time they are trying to save, if you're just working towards the standard production rate, that's fine too I'm just allowing for rush jobs because frankly more often then not situations come up when you just can't requisition an order of armaments or items and await a month for them to be completed.

This is also where hiring a staff or acquiring npc's who share similar item creation skills are beneficial as they can pool their trade skills to help finish items faster.

I'm going to write an update thusly including the following.

All but Xaris and Bronwyn are going ot head to the mines. Xaris will work on introductions and trying to train the paltry militia in some fashion, while Bronwyn works on the Item creation list I've asked for.
If changes need be made let me know.

How long until Elendil gets back?

Shucks, I am getting left out again. How can I ever get joined up with the other if they all go off?

Though Xaris will be there busy training troops, he who is the Abominable Snow Gnome who hardly seems real.

I don't think

I don't think Bronwyn has to be left out... it's more of a matter that she has chosen to be potion making the week we're away. I suppose if you wanted, you could drop your endeavours and join us.
