A Storyteller Speaks
A Storyteller Speaks They say that if you tease a witch, She'll cackle and cook you up. They say that rabid, wild children Once endangered were-wolf pups. They say that if you touch a toad, Your days are numbered few, Blast, they say a lot of things, But a lot of things aren't true. For their job is just to gossip: Drink up the beer, and not the truth. And so what they say is frightening, Sick, sadistic, and uncouth. I'll admit, it's entertaining To hear of faeries, blood, and more. But I tell you, the Teller is waiting, To tell you much truer, and older lore. To tell you tales of wrenching love, Of good and bad luck entwined. To wash away the sorry world, To leave it all behind. So if you'll sit an hour or so, And listen to the tales I spin. I promise, there'll be no regrets. The story is waiting within.
