Greetings, Salutation, Hola!

Well now that the cruel and very funny April Fool's Joke is over; I wanted to address my coming to RDI with the hopes of RPing and DMing with you all.

My name is Joel, I am most often called JC by my friends and coworkers. I have played D&D since I was 11 years old with the original D&D books, the 3 booklet boxed set. I have played all versions up to 3.5 but my love has always been AD&D 2nd edition.

I have been reading this site for a couple weeks before deciding to join and give it a try. I have done some online RPing before on other chat sites, most of which have fallen by the wayside.

I hope to maybe get into a game or two and hopefully DM a game on here in the near future.

So I will be seeing you around, even if you dont see me.

The first and whatnot

It's awesome that you decided to go ahead and join the party. As I'm sure you've noticed folk around here are mighty nice when then aren't playing nasty April Fool's jokes on you. Welcome and I hope you have as much fun as I do. ^_^

hello!

Welcome to the inn and if you're looking for 2nd edition, I know a lot of the "older crowd" around here loves to play that *cough*most staff*cough*

If a new member to the inn starts to DM a 2nd edition game, i'm sure at least half a dozen "oldies" will come flocking!

ok, i'll stop my old puns now.. :p

Heya.

Welcome to the Inn. Seems you've chosen an interesting time to come.

Since the welcome wagon appears to be distracted, allow me to refer you to Pit F(r)iend's Guide to Newcomers
Also, *hands you a towel*. This is a standard Newcomer item. Consider it starting equipment. It'll become clear soon enough.

Additionally, a few other matters:

Do NOT feed the Grugg.
Do NOT feel the need to ignore the previous warning.
and
well,
just ...
Do NOT feed the Grugg.

Simply a safety precaution for newbies, you understand, roll with it.

Now that I've clearly identified myself as some sort of dull rulesy guy, I should probably stop rambling....

*coughs awkwardly*

Welcome again.

Side Note

*Looks back up*

Jozan...

I'll have you know AD&D is my favourite, and I am only within the range of the twenty-somethings.

so there.

You are most kind!

Thank you all for the friendly greetings! I hope to stick around for awhile to come. I have been looking for a place to play lately as my tabletop games have dwindled in the last few years to nothing really. I long for the adventure and I love to DM. Most think I am a better DM than a player, maybe because I did more DMing than playing because no one wanted to be the DM.

Anyhow, thanks for the towel. I have been reading on here long enough to know what to do with that. I have pondered the advent of a spell or poultice or something to keep the Eol away but alas that is even beyond my powers I fear. I will just have to take my ‘lickings’ as they come; besides one is not truly a part of RDI till they have been proper indoctrinated by Eol.
As for the game I am contemplating running on RDI; it would be AD&D 2nd edition of course, my favorite by far. Once 2nd Edition came out why did they even bother making the others? Money of course is the only motivation.

I have used Faerun mostly for my background setting since its induction; though I have been studying the Audalis setting and must say it has much promise and if players here are more familiar and comfortable with that setting it wouldn’t be a problem for me to adapt.

If you are interested in playing with me soon, keep a weather-eye out on the Recruitment threads, I will have something up there soon.

Till then, I will be watching and reading. Thanks again for the welcomes.

Welcome...

Glad to see a new smiling face around here

All warnings have been laid out, but we kindly ask if you do decide to make RDI your home that you will vote daily so others might also stumble upon the Inn.

I look forward to seeing you around the DragonChat and the forums! I may or may not be interested in the game, depends when the game starts and how many games I'm involved in at the time.

That's right...

...embrace the facelick!!!

Welcome aboard, Joel... or Red... or RSA... or whichever way you prefer to be addressed. You still taste like an Innmate regardless, yes? *winks*

Glad to have you in the fold, of course, and, judging from your intro, here, I'd say that you'll fit right in with the rest of us whackos juuuuuuust fine. I see our other loverly residents have spelled out the dos and don'ts and go heres and see theres, so I'll let all that go unspoken... un-respoken (?)... *shrugs*... and simply add my enthusiastic and somewhat damp welcome to the lot.

Looking forward to seeing you around and, who knows, perhaps gaming together in the near future.

Tenna'telwan,
Eol

P.S. +2 for the super-awesome non-avoidance of the facelick!

Hiya

Welcome welcome Red to our wonderful online home! Always good to see new faces around. Apparently you've been warned about the two dangers that lurk in our corners, The Gruggster and Eol. So I'll skip that one. They're ofc not dangerous at all, but dear friends instead.

And you've caught the spirit of RDI pretty nicely too. It's all about having fun with the other Innmates be it playing, chatting or something else. We love and accept any and everyone no matter what their religion, skin color, nationality, sexual orientation, age or well even political opinions. We're one big family in here and it's wonderful to get more members in it.

As for Faerun, you're very welcome to run a game in the Realms as well. Audalis is just another option although many of us have grown to love it during the years.

Once again, Welcome!

Welcome Red.....

Here's a fresh frosty mug of "Good Old Froth-n-Slosh". When I was a newbie I wandered the halls of the Inn in search of the barkeep. Finally I just dawned the aprin and settled in behind the bar. You now have you own Tankard on the mantle so join in the fellowship. If I don't happen to be around then my silent assistant Igor will be happy to see you're well fed and aled.

Enjoy!

BTW, I'm one of the oldies that like 2e best!

Awesome yet another 2e fanatic!! LOL

Let me be another of the Inn’s Staff member’s to welcome you to our site we always need more 2nd Edition devotees .. As you hopefully have already seen there’s a lot to do here for sure so take your time and get comfortable with our site. There are a wide variety of AD&D rules sets in use here, even at one time a game run on the very first rules edition.. Basic .. Along with a number of varying game systems from Fantasy to the Sci-fi to the occult to plain horror there is always something for someone including even Free Form games here at the Inn. Also a good place to start here is “Pit F(r)iend's epic guide to getting started for newbies.”. Which itself was written by an Inn member to help new people just like you figure out how to navigate the halls of the Inn.

The Inn has been around quite some time and for a great majority of us is a second home so please treat the Inn, its Staff and all it’s members with respect and we will treat you the same.

So again welcome its always nice to have new people come to us and I hope you’ll feel quite at home here.
And though this is the greeting I post to all newcomers do not feel that I am not glad to see a new person come to our home, far from it. Its just easier and quicker this way as we do get a lot of newcomers at times. So then If you have any questions about the site feel free to PM myself or any other Staff member as needed...........
