Man of Steel… What did you think?

Overall I thought the Movie was good and was believable in most ways but for 1 as discussed below. I liked how they flashbacked with Kevin Costner and continued to use Russell Crow even though as Superman’s Dad he does die in the beginning.

Michael Shannon as General Zod did a good job though there were a few moments in the film where he, I don’t know what, seemed to lack something. I do hope the next Superman movie, there are at least 2 more planned, continue to move the story forward. Though I prefer Marvel I am looking forward to a possible Justice League movie to see how it compares to the Avengers and I hope Henry Cavill will continue the roll of the Man of Steel.

However there was one thing that I did not like and that was the level of destruction caused to ‘Metropolis’ If it had been a real city the death toll would have been worse then anything in real life. Yes it’s a movie but is it not supposed to be believable in some ways? Well all I can say is go see it and feel free to post your thoughts here, but as always no spoilers allowed.

Worth Watching

I have friends that liked the movie way more than I did, but it is worth watching!

Movie

I haven't seen it yet, but have definitely made plans. My mum really likes the Superman actor's manly chin.

I'll be posting a review (no spoilers) on RDI when I do; it sounds pretty good. I agree with you though, Tann- Marvel made its Avengers look terrific. DC is going to have some tough competition. I'm still waiting for a debut of Dr. Strange on the big screen!

Not a bad flick

So I saw it not too long ago in the theatre of our small town. I've never really been a fan of the whole DC Superman franchise, but I know enough about him to know that they really changed some stuff up with it.

The action was fantastic, I must say. The flying sequences were very smooth and the battle was fluid; nothing like watching a bunch of indestructible flying men beat each other to a pulp. Perhaps a favourite for me was the actor they chose for Superman. I don't know why, but I thought he was exceptional. They had his posture and demeanour all right, and his chin was superb!

Criticisms I have are pretty much in key with most other movies being created by Hollywood nowadays. They really need to stop this hangup upon the one central villain device; too many movies have made poorer impressions on me than they could have otherwise. Maybe I'm just a complainer or a stick in the mud, but it really ruins something for me.

my two bits

I thought that this was perhaps the best Superman movie ever made.

The instant weakness seemed a bit over the top, and the damage to Metropolis was indeed catastrophic... but if Superman hadn't been there, would it not have been worse?

I was a bid unsure about Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Never though of Lois as so... perky. But Adams did a really nice job, I though.

All in all, the movie had a different vibe than previous Superman films, but I don't think that was a bad thing.

Was certainly better than the most recent whiny, emo Superman where the plot was "Lex Luthor is going to make an inhospitable rock and destroy the rest of the land! Baahhahahha! All he ever dreamed was of living on a barren speck too small to even call a wasteland! That's show the rest of the world!"

Guuh.
