betting pool
Sudden image of the party gathered in a circle at the garden edge.
"5 gold says its ogres."
"Put me in for hobgoblins"
"I'm good for Bugbears"
"Right, I say humans in bad costumes"
"Can I bet on some kind of ugly humanoid?"
"No! That's too general. Pick a species!"
"Fine, I'll put 5 on orcs"
"Can I bet Drow?"
"No drow in Audalis."
"Oh..."

Heh, nice. Yep my first bet was on Gnolls and still is, Bugbears is pretty likely too. Either way I'll bet two sling bullets on Gnolls... I think thats all i got as far as bartering goes. Or else, next thing you know we'll be seeing Derry with Peter's long sword and Crow in Plate Armour.
K. I'll try to get a post up next day or two...

yo - Thief boy
Shall I assume you are sneaking to the terrace and peering around the open part of the curtain? Or were you going to sneakily lift the curtain and expose yourself to the whatevers they are inside?

Ok DM Man here ya go LOL
I'm moving to a spot that allows me to gain a better look inside the area occupied by the 4 some humanoids.
Now what that means, to put in terms you can understand Old Man, is that without moving any curtains, or the lifting of same, I will try to peer in the open area of said curtain but from an area within range of my vision. I will be at least 20 yards from the opening in the best area of shadow I can find and still get a clear view into the tent like area. If that is impossible due to whatever you come up with I will just get enough of a look, while again keeping to the SHADOWS, to see what race the big baddies are. Once I have that info I will return, again very quietly, to the rest of the party to share my scout info.

Insanity reigns
I am getting quite busy now and don't know when the next full post will be so you have time to post. If I can, I will do a short post of what Crow sees before he's grabbed and eaten (call me an Old Man will you? Now you pay!) by the demon cockroach ogres.

humph
Alright well I'm no sore loser, you can have your two sling bullets, or did you want the plate armour in the end. I don't HAVE to be the tank.
I enjoyed the update, however this next little bit is going to be madness for me, I'll try to squeeze out a post but I can't guarantee that and if I do its unlikely the writing will be of much quality, thought I'd let y'all know.

Sleep
Can sleep be cast through the linens? Do I have to be able to directly see them? If I do, how close to I have to get to see them?"

Posting!
Hey - I'll post!
I just need to get a few answers about sleep before I progress. I wouldn't want to get closer than I have to. Close is for people in armor!

ergrrr
Yep that whole posting thing! Super busy I really don't mean to be pumping the breaks on a game that was moving at such a solid pace. Hopefully I can get one up in the next few days! Really sorry everybody, hope its not too much trouble (heh Peter will probably be just standing there for now as far as that goes but its the role play we care about, right guys???)...
Yep... hopefully coming soon, sorry everybody.

I'm back
Whew! Insanity is over. I can breathe easier now.
Sleep - I would rule that you can cast through the linen as long as you are within the 30 yard range. You can see their outlines so you have an idea where to centre the spell. You will effect 2d4 of HD, working from lowest to highest within a 30 foot radius.
Posting - I do not have a clear direction given as to what the party wants to do beside a sleep spell. Am I not giving you enough to work with in my descriptions? Do you need to set a leader? Do you feel overwhelmed? Talk to me.

Yup
Been the same in here as it has for you and I'm afraid it'll continue the same way through the rest of the week too. Sorry for not posting even a quick description, for I was under the illusion I would be able to do it before you return.
As for Brandr's actions, he's pretty much with Crow. The bugbears must die. But he'd much rather give the monsters even the slightest of changes to defend themselves, so he will not kill the sleeping ones. But he will certainly attack any still standing after the spell.
Other than that, I guess we should check out the door, the ranger was heading to in the first place.
