"If the creature is currently being threatened or attacked by you or your allies, however,
it receives a +5 bonus on its saving throw."

Emphasis mine.

I would consider you ambushing half of his men with drawn weapons in combat threatened. He would get the bonus.

Well drat and double drat

I'm now having to rethink my evil plan. Will have a post up today or tomorrow.
Are any of the torches still lit and unattended?

Alrighty

Well, what started as a "let's get drunk for the 10am hockey game" turned into a 3 hour grayhound busride and a 3 day bender.

At least everyone's posted, so I can try and get my brain to remember how to run a combat round. Will try and post by tonight.

So this is what the initiative order looks like now, removing the dead.

Tristan 26
Bandit1 19
Bandit2 19
Malachi 16 (wins tiebreaker)
Relos 16
Leader 12 (wins tiebreaker)
Bandit8 12
Bandit4 8
Calopee 7
Bandit7 4
Sehanine 3

Now on to the crunching of the numbers.

Tristan rolls a 14 to hit Bandit5, and deals 3 damage to Bandit5.
Relos rolls an 18 on his AoO on the approaching Bandit1, and deals 13 damage to Bandit1.
Bandit6 and Bandit5 miss Sehanine and Tristan, respectively.
Malachi rolls a 26 on his concentration check for Sapphire Nightmare Blade, succeeding. He then rolls a 27 (with a natural 19) to hit Bandit3, and confirms the critical with a roll of 28 (a goddamn natural 20). He deals 26 damage to Bandit3 and kills him. (Goddamn)
Relos rolls a 21 to hit with a trip attempt on Bandit1, succeeding. He rolls a 15 on the opposed strength check, failing to trip, but rolls a 25 to avoid being tripped or disarmed of his weapon on Bandit1's trip attempt.
The Leader hit Tristan for 11 damage.
Bandit4 rolls a natural 1 for hitting Malachi with a thrown torch, missing and landing it in the shed. This has begun to light the shed on fire.
Calopee rolls a 14 to hit Bandit6, hitting and ricocheting into Bandit5 with a roll of 22. With sneak attacks each bandit took 12 damage, and both die.
CALOPEE ROLLS A-GODDAMN-NOTHER NATURAL 20 TO HIDE AND SNIPE, AND NO ONE SPOTS HER AGAIN GODDAMN.
Sehanine dealt 6 damage to the Leader with magic missile.

A map will be up momentarily. Malachi is currently in a hut that is on fire, but scored a one shot kill. Calopee is in a field that is on fire, and scored a double kill.

Clearly being in danger of being aflame is a super power.

Maparoo

Same dimensions as last time.
PCs are still their first letter.4
The leader is the black dot.
The riders are numbered.
The red dots are bodies.
The orange squares are currently on fire. The fire has sufficient fuel to spread in both cases.

Every bandit has a shortsword drawn and ready except bandit7 who has nothing drawn and bandit2 who has a shortsword and a torch in his off hand.

The leader is wielding a long spiked chain.

Relos is flanked.

Tristan is currently threatened by the leader.

Everyone knows where everyone is again save Calopee, who is a goddamn ninja I'm sure of it.

TALK TO ME PEOPLE.

[[IC: Glares at Calopee. I got one too!]]

Methinks this may be a good time to exit the shed. How long does it take to douse a fire via smothering it?

You might have "got one two" but Calopee did get two for one. So yeah.

Smothering the fire in a 5ft square would take a full round action if you had something to smother it with, meaning it would take effect at the start of next round.

This would mean the fire would already have time to spread and you would probably light yourself on fire.

Also as a note to the group, if it would be possible to have all the posts in by Sunday this week it would be fantastic. I know that's a bit shorter than normal but I am away on business Monday/Tuesday and don't really want to leave the update 'til Wednesday.

They're combat posts, Chessic churned one out already.

Posts.

My next move may have a lot to do with what the enemies do before me... And also the success of Tristan's spell. It makes for a difficult post! :p

(That said, I'll meet your quota, just need to think for a spot.)

Feel free to give me your combat options as hypotheticals. Your post can be vague then you can give a pile of options based on situations ie.

A) If the leader is alive I attack him.
B) If the leader is dead I learn to juggle.
C) If the leader is dead and I have nothing to juggle I cry.

My thanks to those who pointed out that I should take advantage of the free 5 foot step. I had forgotten such a thing existed.

I will be editing my post to take advantage of that. Will be done tonight.

I can move through the body-occupied square as though there were nothing there, right?
