Woot!
Work's been making me work, but love seeing all the new content - plus a little appearance from an NPC near and dear to my heart
I see Octavia got Ruadhrí's post up so I'll get mine going tonight!
@Octavia - you might get a PM or 2 from me for Rudhari's reactions to tings
EDIT: Okay, finally caught up on posts and can start working on mine. My favorite part so far has been when Rudy's sternum started to fall out of his chest. WILD. Cattle corralling incoming.

Freaking Fantastic
Posssssssted. Rosariel is going to just look around for any other corridors and/or signs of any other owlbearies--assuming no one else needs healing and Mae'rel is also low on spells. After spending some spells calming our big boi Rosa has two more spell slots left, so raise your hand if you need them.
Planning to hopefully add a lil of Ruadhrí's perspective as well.
Also realized after Reralae's fantastic intro post that I wasn't sure I had explicitly spoken to the way Rosariel looks, so following Rer's suit I added a little appearance section. The highlights are brown hair, gray eyes, antler gauges, and I wanted her to be a little shawty so she's only 5'10, which I believe is a little short for a Syl.

dang
Okay, I will go ahead and admit it - I wasn't a huge fan of the "Ruadhrí loses his mind in fights" angle. But you folks are turning it into some compelling reading, and now, I want to see where this goes.

Sweet Rotaish
I was honestly skeptical too since I've been in games where players have made a situation like this not so fun, but I've really been enjoying the rp with Ruadhrí/Octavia, and now Seleniniel hopping in has been wonderful too--despite her reading Rosa's look of relief for the help as being put off
Rosariel and I, her resource manager, are both grateful for Ruadhrí's new prescription.

that's the thing...
This can be so easily done badly. If people have to actually worry about their character being harmed by an ally... that's just not a lot of fun in most games.
If this is Octavia taking the "my character is basically having barbarian rages without the actual class, because it's fun RP"... I can get behind that. And it does give a lot of chance for RP and such. Hold person, the calming herb... those are genius.
My only concern now is that I don't want it to get tiresome. But if this is a legit character arc, where Ruadhrí undergoes some character growth - but maybe struggles and backslides some along the way? Okay, I can admit that this could be an engrossing, memorable story if done right.

The big guy...
...obviously has some PTSD business going on. I mean, his kind are routinely enslaved and/or eaten by the Kazari back on Capasha and, here on Antaron, his tread suffered similar atrocities. Plenty of reasons for him to fly into blind rages like that, imo, and that's kind of the way I've been looking at it.
Could definitely be an interesting character arc, for sure... Ruahdri's made new friends who have witnessed/experienced his rages firsthand and, rather than them being wary of him as a result, they're looking for ways to help. Between the "medical moonshade" and the rest of the party's general concern, there's plenty of potential for some great storytelling in all of this.
Edit: Also, @Bree - If Rosa is 5'10" that means she's precisely 2 feet taller than Dak... Uppies?
I should probably give some consideration to updating Dak's write-up to give a better description of the little guy.
Son of Edit: A few bits of descriptors have been added to Dak's write up in the recruitment thread. Might update a little more later but I think what I've got does him justice and gives you all a sense of what he might actually look like.

Say please
Just one last tack-on here, I REALLY liked Seleniniel using that ESP ability to see into Ruad's brain. That was a really cool moment.
@Eol: I guess uppies are better than Dak staring at her assets all day. How does he feel about face rats?

Fairy ponderings
Somehow I don't imagine the referenced leaf being a thing that just grows out and about, but with consideration to Seleniniel and Ruahdri, Isilmewen will certainly try to keep a lookout for her allies

Trolling for the Lulz
"S is definitely one to project her disposition onto others"
Is that why she mistook Rosariel's accidental chest slap as a harassment case? Seleninial could just ask
@Reralae: I was wondering about that too. Imma try to keep a couple spell slots open just in case, but if it's a particularly tough fight and he's out of that leaf I guess we'll see how it goes.

On horticulture
Moonshade a short plant, typically 1' or less in height, black stemmed with large overlapping arrowhead leaves that droop down to create a mushroomed form during the day. At night, when the moonlight is right, the leaves "bloom" outward and upward in a kaleidoscopic array. The leaves are deep purplish maroon with veins of lighter purple. It is not illicet, but it is rather difficult to come by. Typically found in the dank soil of open air caves, in the corners that receive just the right amount of refracted (never direct) moonlight. Needless to say, there are not many places it can grow naturally in quantity, so foragers name their price and jealously guard their sources. There's rumors the Khords have found a way to produce it in their deep burrows using a bilouminescent fungi. Seleniniel has never known or cared much where the source is--even if the Khords grow it she'd still have to buy through Coria and pay their markup. She had a local Syl supplier in her hometown that asked a hefty price and tolerated few questions. She usually paid the even heftier price for live potted plants. Dried leaves are of course easier to transport and store so are slightly less costly. She prefers chewing the leaf while relatively fresh and letting its chemicals absorb through the gums.
While sometimes referred to (rather romantically) as the "philosopher's leaf," it has been used by all sorts over the millennia--Kord rock readers, Kelden windfinders, and oracles and healers of all ilk. Its effects differ slightly from humanoid to humanoid, but most experience a sense of contentment and calm and find it easier to cut through the clutter of a busy mind and focus on one thought at a time, or none at all. Some feel a deep sense of belonging and connection to the collective arc of sentient beings stretching eons into the past and far into the future. Prolonged use will eventually stain the gums or teeth, depending on the method of imbibing, and may lend itself to a perspective focused less on the day-to-day and more on the deeper questions that free-thinking folk tend to ponder.
(Alan's head canon - Olan can retcon as he likes of course)
