Mustard and fingers?

Hmmmm... I dunno... fingers go better with cool whip, or chocolate, or strawberry sauce, perhaps... not mustard.

Chili

Put mustard in your chili. Trust me. Part of the reason you yankee morons can't get chili right is that you never use mustard in it.

I make chili...

...that's brought many a Texan to tears.

Of course, my recipe does call for mustard...hmmmmm.

Y'know what I never understood? Them folks that put grape jelly in their chili! What the heck is that all about?

((P.S. Technically, I'm not a "Yank" either... sure, I live in Ohio (but I was tricked into it), and my family's from upstate NY, but I was born in South Dakota, and got most of my raising overseas and in the southwest and south... I'm whatcha might call a roverwanderernomadvagabond. ))

the grape jelly

is to cut the acid.
You can also use brown sugar which is what I use
As a side effect it also makes it kinda sweet.

Thought all guys liked hot and sweet

Not all of us...

I like hot but sweet I can live without.

Thanks for explaining that, though... I always wondered.

Stuff

Eol, I'll call you what I will.

The Dakotas count as Yankee-land... but then, I count anyone who lives north of I-10 a Yankee. Although, as someone who has traveled extensively, I have a lot more tolerance for foreigners (like people from Dallas) than most. Except the Aussies. I hate them. Which is why I mailed them fire ants. That'll teach them. Lazy, kangaroo-ridin' jerks, too busy to make me my hat. "Ooh, a dingo ate my baby..." Shut yer holes! Any continent that can't handle a rabbit invasion is doomed to failure anyway.

The jelly in chili is to let everyone know you're dumb.

well...

I put chocolate in my chili. It's flipping awesome too. Amazingly delicious. You can put beer in chili too. Though, that's more for when you're making chili with chicken instead of beef.

I'm a cookspert. oh yes.

well guess what...

We just had chili for dinner. Hehe, all because of this forum. I did try putting some mustard in it, not bad. The chili was a great success.

Btw, i also put a little cinnamon in my chili. Like a tea-spoon.

IDEA!!

We should have an RDINN virtual chili cookoff.
We could make our fav chili recipe here at the Inn and people could virtually taste them and then vote on their fav. (of course they would only be able to judge by the ingredients you put in it and not taste ) but still it would be fun!!
