So this is what it comes down to
Lantaris thought fast. This was an incredibly dangerous situation. Attack one and the other could slit their throats in thanks. Even worse, this could be an act to kill us all and they are working together.
But suddenly his protective insticts kicked in and his hands went for two previously concealed daggers. He needed insperation and fast, otherwise they would be soon be bathing blood. Keep them talking.
"Hold on a second. There is no need to kill one another. Let's start with a answer to Crystal's question. And then I'd like to know why you (Verkoth) were thought he betrayed us in the first place. Then SOMEONE is going to explain why this occured. And then if you (Verkoth) sent these troops, how come you were so confident he betrayed us. If you didn't, who did?"

Answers...
"If I were a Sevaraii Commander then I would be sending one of the more subtle men I had under my command to infiltrate the Decadance.' Growls Rege', not taking his eyes off Verkoth.
"As for me I believe that Regarial here has turned to the side of Kravos Al'Ral, after all the two did arrive in Coast together and whilst I doubt that the good elf yonder has any ill will against your lands he is loyal to his companion. No-one here has necessarily betrayed anyone, after all, these corpses are Sevaraii and I am clearly not a Sevaraii."
Verkoth smiles at you, making an effort to keep his hands from the hilts of his long-knives.

Let's see here...
Crystal leant on her staff, seemingly - to all intents and purposes - at ease with the whole situation. A single eyebrow was raised towards both Verkoth and Regarial.
"Well this is amusing. A possible mass murderer and..." Crystal took a moment to look at the corpses littering the area, "...a definite moderate murderer. How fun."
Crystal used her staff to absently shift throught the cloth of one of the dead men beside her, at ease with the proximity of the corpse, looking for some sign of...anything. Death wounds, primarily, but also anything more specific, be it some religious icon or a make of weapon she is familiar with.
[Detection/History Check, whichever applies best]
As she searches, Crystal continued to murmur, seemingly to herself, though still easily heard by the others.
"A possible mage with the power to kill us all, too...apparently, though in which case I'm surprised he hasn't already, and why he needs those knives he's eying. Of course, the other one here could have enough 'jade on him to destroy a street...something not suspicious at all(!)"
Crystal mentally prepared a spell, picturing the casting if it became evident that it may be necessary. If Rege' turned that explosive crossbow to her, a brief flared shield of ice should - hopefully - protect her from the bolt and the explosion rather well, nor should it require much effort if it only has to be summoned for a second.

Well, now isn't that interesting
"Wait, so you're suggesting that because Verkoth's men attacked me that I'm responsible for 'murder?'" Rege' almost laughs. "Also, why would Verkoth kill you if he clearly needs your help for something...as for me I told you, almost all of my Greenjade was siezed in Orsal, all I've got left are my quarrels...although now I come to think of it, given time I could probably rig them to bring down this plaza-"
"Which is all fine, Regarial, but I have a particularly tight schedule from which I cannot deviate." The elf snapps his attention back to Verkoth too late as the assassin steps forwards, a knife snapping out faster than thought as his other hand swings Rege' around before the Spymaster turns, ensuring that the crossbow is pointed away from you. "All that I ask of you is Al'Ral's location, nothing more, nothing less."

Something is wrong...and Crystal is pissed.
Something was wrong with the body.
"Hold it!" Shouted Crystal, directing her words to Verkoth...Rege' certainly wasn't in a position to do anything anyway. Her words contained a harsh authority that only a warmage could get - the authority that is obeyed by others for survival or out of sense, rather than legality and technical hierarchy. Appropriate, considering she definetly had no rank over either.
"Something is not right here..." Crystal was standing straight now. A detached part of her absently noticed what was happening, but would be helpless to stop her temper anyway.
"Rege' is either lying or mistaken. These men are unlikely to be direct soldiers of Verkoth's. Their weapons are not even of a remotely similar make or design to his." Crystal hissed. She felt cold...strange for such a temperate country that they were in. To onlooker's eyes tiny glimmers lay in her hair. Crystals of ice.
"And yet something else is wrong. Rege' did not kill this man, someone with a bow did. And yet he claims that he fought off these...Sevaraii, regardless. Which means..."
Even meters away, the group could feel the warmth being drawn from the air. At Crystal, her breathing now produced visible mist. For most, anger is a hot thing of adrenaline; For Crystal, it was a cold hatred. Her body wanted to shiver, to move. Instead she stood still, the cold wracking her body even as it just made her mind feel keener, sharper...Any lasting effect from her copious alcohol consumption that day was pushed aside. An Ice Mage doesn't need a bucket of ice water for a hangover cure.
Regarial may not be alone, here...if he is the enemy. If he had people backing him, then he was a fool to let himself into a hostage position like Verkoth had him in.

Finaly, a resolution
"trator!" Lantaris shouted pointing both of his daggers at Verkoth "these are weapons of the League Entire! It seems you werent so careful though, were you, murderur?" gesturing to a smuge on one of Verkoths pouches. "You are a trator to me and for this you will pay!" with the last word he Sprinted into action and leaping towards Verkoth, attemting to make him drop Redge more than anything, attempting to get behind him and put a dagger in his back even.

Bad idea, friend
As Lantaris launches himself forwards Verkoth, with as much speed as he was possessed of earlier, swings Rege' around, hurling the elf in Lantaris' path.
"Traitor...we shall see who has betrayed who once your blood cools in this shattered plaza!" The assassin roars, drawing his second knife and dropping into a guard position, even as a vortex of chill wind surges through the courtyard and the corpses around you begin to stir.
______________
Verkoth stands to the right of the statue whilst 5 undead are rising, one at each of the roads leading from the plaza, formin a 5 pointed star with the assassin.
Combat will work as such:
Post what action you wish to take and I'll do the necessary dice rolling and number crunching for you (and send you a PM if something doesn't work).
So, en guard.

Sorry for the late post, i have end of year exams but they finish on Friday!!!
Takra was struck dumb by the events she was witnessing, she had never seen such a tense exchange of words. She was glad that Crystal was with her she was very clever and powerful too, Lantaris also had discovered the truth, however his anger had overruled his sense.
Takra turned towards the more immediate trail of thought, to survive. The dead were rising, she had no idea this could even happen let alone fight them. Nevertheless she notched an arrow to her bowstring and aimed for the nearest undead figure. She loosed hoping, praying and wishing it would at least hurt the unworldly creature.
Takra fumbled around with her quiver looking for another arrow, she was rushing and careless and pricked herself on the tip of an arrow, she took the arrow and notched it to the bowstring and drew back.

Crystal's not ready to take a side yet.
As Lantaris an Regarial stumbled off-balance, Takra firing off a shot, Crystal didn't wait to see what affect her arrow took. She shifted to one side as the corpse she stood over began to rise, raising her staff threateningly into the air.
"Verkoth! What is the meaning of this!? Strike down the fool elf, Lantaris, in self defense if you must, but why hire Takra and I simply to kill us now? I am not your enemy here..." Crystal yelled across the plaza, icy winds now gusting around her, causing both clothing and hair to ripple and tousle. Necromancy may suggest the League, but these dead don't appear to be directly affliated with him...and Verkoth's choice of wording and actions feels abnormal for what Rege' claimed.
Ice began to form around the tip of her staff; a sphere that grew slowly as Crystal watched to see if the undead next to her began to show direct hostility.
She shouted once more, for measure.
"I am not your enemy!"

Lantaris
As Crystal spoke, Lantaris resisted the urge rolled his eyes. She clearly had no idea that questions would not get answers now. Now was the time for action. It was time to use some more crude form of combat.
Using the pommels of his daggers instead of his hands, Lantaris Struck at the crease of Verkoths left forearm to get a pain movement reflex and the used his other dagger to go for the artery in his neck left side which, upon hitting would at least knock him down.
"You lied to me and that shall be the last mistake you make!!!"

This is your idea of Due Process?
Anger sometimes breaks like a dam. Or an avalanche. Either will do in Crystal's case.
"Fool!" Crystal screamed as she thrust the tip of her staff forward, willing frost into existence as a sheet of energy; a collapse of ice and magic designed to pummel a specific target from above. Not likely to be deadly in any circumstance, the falling of closely-arranged blocks of heavy ice is usually enough to batter a man to the ground, or at least bruise him or disarming him.
As the adapted Avalanche spell fell, Crystal shouted as her casting finished. [regardless of the outcome]
"Chances are still looking pretty good to me that Regarial is the one doing most of the lying, here, priest. Since I am not clearly under immediate attack by Verkoth, who's acting in self defense, I see no reason to fight against him with you, or indeed stand by and watch as you murder him."

So Ill just stand here and be murdered too?
"This is not the time to talk, we have to act now, otherwise we will all be killed. Besides, I am no murderur. I would never attack to kill someone, just immobilise them if they are becomeing more like a threat. But if you would prefer to handle this situation yourself, be my guest. We shall see if this situation sorts itself out." Lantaris said with traces of anger. Lantaris sheathed her daggers and drew up her hood, fadeing into the background. (not leaving)

The elf's going to hit the fan
Wow, I just sleep in and suddenly you're all trying to kill each other, I couldn't be more proud.
I'll go through this post-by post since there's quite a lot gone on.
Takra's first arrow flies past the undead, shattering against the brick of a wall, however the elf finds her courage and the second dart strikes a creature in the throat, ripping through tendons and causing it to stagger by the deadly blow.
Meanwhile, Lantaris' first blows are evaded by Verkoth as he stepps in, however the bodyguard's speed sees the follow-up blow send the assassin sprawling onto the cobbles even as crystal's avelanche causes Lantaris to stumble, dropping his loosly gripped daggers before he turns to confront the Valsavatharian.
Struck by multiple threats to themselves and their master, Verkoth's minons split, two running at Tarka and the others at Lantaris whilst the wounded one staggers away from the fight, its head hanging at an unhealthy angle. Once combatant, however, still lies almost forgotten...until.
"Crystal, Lantaris!" Rege's voice cuts throug the din of the escalating melee.
Lantaris reaction check: 29
You manage to turn and duck just as a resurgent, and infinetly more irate, Verkoth launches an overhead swinging kick at you, his long-knives forgotten. Perhaps turning around wasn't a brilliant idea...
Crystal reaction check: 24
Despite your chilled limbs you fall to the ground as an arrow from a longbow flies from the shadows of one of the streets, striking the already wounded cadaver behind you.
"Dammit Al'Ral, she's on our side!" Rege staggers to his feet, crossbow still cocked. Before loosing a shot off at one of the corpses staggering towards Takra, the glint of Greenjade amplifying as it passes through the chill mists of the avalanche. The elf's real condition becomes apparent as the shot is horribly off, as does his luck as the quarrel punches into one of the undead advancing on Lantaris, ripping it asunder with a detonation that leaves even Rege' amazed.

matrix!!!
As Lantaris turned, he felt the air move behind him. Everything seemed to slow down as Lantaris ducked his head. He spun around.
"Coward" Lantaris spat "I will make you regret that move"
Lantaris (having dropped his daggers) Drew his right hand back and sent a jab at his weak point on his abdomen. (If that hits) Lantaris then swung his leg round to His targets lower leg, inteding to set him back where he belonged, at his feet.

Wha-
The abdomen strike powers forwards, however despite Lantaris' prodigial speed his anger has broken his focus as Verkoth spins to the side his fist hammering into Lantaris' gut, causing the elf to bend over, goraning in pain. However, before the assassin has time to follow through a shaft slams into him, piercing his archaic armour below the ribcage and sending Verkoth stumbling back.
"A thousand black curses upon you Al'Ral, may your eyes boil in your heart's blood!"
