Sorry... baby woke up...

Anyway... here's something in brief:

Ability Scores Priority: Wis, Cha, Str, Con, Dex, Int
**with the rolls I made, it would be STR 15, DEX 12, CON 14, INT 10, WIS 18, CHA 16, and I would add the +1 stat increase [for lvl 4] to STR to make it 16.

Domains: good, war

Feats: WP[longsword], WF[longsword], Divine Vigor**, Power Attack, Divine Might**

** from Complete Warrior

Skills: Concentration 7 ranks, Diplomacy 4 ranks, Heal 5 ranks, Knowledge [Religion] 5 ranks

Equipment: +2 Longsword, Mwk Full Plate Mail, Mwk Large Shield, Mwk Heavy Mace, Mwk Light Crossbow, Bolts, other adventuring equipment

SOME NOTES:

1) Consider changing your diety to Dor Arrah, for weapon proficiency/focus in the Halberd instead, plus take Sun domain instead of Good

2) Possibly consider taking 1 level of fighter for an additional feat. If you do, use the fighter feat for Power Attack and pick up Extra Turning as your level 3 feat. Also, if you go this route, take Strength domain instead of War... well, actually it's a toss-up to me. Strength Domain offers spells not on the Cleric list. Maybe go Strength and War?

3) This is a martial/ tank build. Beef up on the armor/ defense items. If Jozan is really serious about material not mattering, go for adamantine full plate for a 3/- damage reduction. (though I think this goes beyond the "reasonable" equipment for a 4th level character.

Also, spells like aid, bull's strength, enlarge, righteous might, divine power, etc, etc are your gravy spells. Don't memorize any healing spells as you can spontaneously cast them anyway.

Hope that helps.

Ayrn

.

Hmm, about the adamantine. I'll let it slide, but you'll have to forgo a +1 item, or make the +2 a +1. Ayrn you little munchkin XD

Also, responses and information will be coming out some time soon.

Hey hey...

That cleric is not for me, but Bezmir.

I'm just lending a helping hand. I was going to suggest a combat healer, but Complete Divine is not on your approved book list, Jozan. So, I thought, "why not make one to do what clerics do best"... which is uber-tank munchy-munch, right?!

Anyway... it's only a suggestion. And while Jozan is being extremely gracious in letting you, Bezmir, take a adamantine full plate suit for the cost of a +1 to your magical item, I think it's a bit overkill, and you should be more than fine in your shiney, mundane full plate -- especially after you "enlarge" and "aid" and "bull strengthen" yourself and begin to stomp on all Jozan's puny pawns with your 10' reach and bulging biceps!

First magic class, sorry

Making a character with gods and spells is so much different to me then a basic rogue. But I needed to cross that bridge at some point in time.

Also, if all goes well, you'll have the completed character in soon.

One last question...He'll use all the spells that are in the PHB, correct?

helping a noob

you have to pick spells every day, but you get to pick those from the entire PHB list of cleric spells, plus 1 domain spell per level from one of your two domains (of the same level)

The number of spells you get each day are listed according to your class level.

5 0th level
3 1st level + 1 1st level for your wisdom bonus +1 1st level domain spell
2 2nd level + 1 2nd level for your wisdom bonus +1 2nd level domain spell

OK

I've reposted so my character is doing less in the post in case anyone is coming to Sharn with him.

EDIT: Or if jozan wants to give me some random NPC to RP with on the train. If there isn't a response to my post in a few days then I'll conduct what I need to do in Sharn.

EDIT 2: What are your rules on bartering/haggling jozan? Is it not at all or do you use the rules in Complete Adventurer? And in either case can I take a 20?

:)

Thank you very much.

I hope that you aren't intending to go to win money. Gambling is so much better when you don't intend to win money.

Best of luck anyway.

okay

so, as a cleric, I don't have to study spells, but I have to pray for them? I think I'm figuring it all out now. I might have him in tonight, sorry for the delay.

Okay, I hope this is the last character question

How would I calculate hit die for 4th level? Would I figure out what it would be at first level and just work my way up, or is there a different way?

EDIT: Did some research, found where Jozan said about hp. It's basicaly you can't roll under half of your hd

Last one, I swear

Is my spells per day the same as spells known?

UM

Let me check, my understanding of cleric spells has always been that they do not know spells but can call on the power of their god.

You have access to every cleric spell avalible to you because of your cleric levels and domains, the table shows the maximum number you can cast per day.

If you could join me on chat I'd like to hear about your character ect.

Spells known vs spells/day

For a cleric, they know every spell that their deity has to offer.

However, at the beginning of each day (or other designated period) they have to pray to their deity for a certain number of spells - their spells per day. You have freedom of choice over which spells to take, but only within your limit of spells per day.

Does that clear things up?
