Good pace

The once a week update by the DM with as many character interaction/discussion posts or "color commentary" posts as fit in there is a good method. Been working for 106 pages in another game.

I tend to post alot of the "color commentary" ones.

A map!

Overview - princess

Well it is one of my patented crude maps - I am no artist. However this gives you an overview of the shield, the orchard around the manor and the roadway in. Assume the top of the page is north. The big circles are apple trees, the haevy line is the shield. There is a roadway in, and a side entrance to the kitchen. You'd get all this from the people. Noctus has found a lady with a wealth of knowledge and he is pumping her for information as you dig/burn or dose.

You will get a better (but still crudely drawn) map when you get in.

Where the boys are digging now will accomplish nothing as they will hit the roots of the apple trees and take hours to get through (left of roadway). However they will quickly discover that the shield does not extend past the ground.

pump indeed

Noctus would certainly not "pump" the young lady for information. He is a most cunning linguist and would simply use his talented tounge to enrapture her until she "sings".

He's a cunning linguist eh?

Oh.. how badly I want to say it! Can't... must... be... good...

I give up... I'm leaving before I get into trouble.

:D

Didn't you just say it? Or perhaps my eyes just saw what I wanted to see and I just read what I wanted to read.

Hoo! Simple man with simple methods. Sometimes being a simpleton like me works. Perhaps there is a spot where there aren't so many roots - bloody roots.

If you look on the crudely drawn map

If you move to either side of the palace, you will be away from the roots.

:)

I wasn't sure I could trust the crudely drawn map that much. Or maybe if I had really looked at it instead of glancing, I would've noticed that. Thanks.

don't mock the crudely drawn map!

Although crudely drawn, it is there for your benefit. I have no problem leading you through the castle blind.

"There are 6 doors in this room, going left to right with two on the west wall, 1 on the north, one between the NNE wall and the NE wall and one half build intoi an alcove of the EES wall. The other doors are in the ceiling and floor, respectfully."

Mock? Me! Nevah!

I would be the last to mock anyone's maps, for mine are simply gross. I am very thankful for having a map, good sir. Thank you very much. That way I can make some sense out of your directions...

If I keep this going, Brandr won't live through the day...

only in the funny papers

Suddenly, a piano falls upon the ranger killing him instantly. Everyone must Save vs spells or become paralysed standing around wondering where the piano came from.

Okay so I had to share this...

My seven year old step daughter is fascinated with what I do on here, okay what I allow her to see of what I do on here . She desperatly wants to join, I told her not quiet yet, but to keep working on her writing abilities and someday. I've told her about this game and it seems she got inspired. She wrote this the other day:
The whole castle including the Princess had a bubble around it! Just guess where the bubble came from. A bubble blowing dragon.

Suddenly a child who had been watching the road said, “The Prince is here!“

Prince Jason took one look at their faces and knew something was wrong.

He said, “What, my poor people, is wrong?”

The villagers said, “The castle has been surrounded by a huge bubble that no one here can pop and the Princess is inside, please sav her.“

“Oh yes.”

The Prince listened very closely to what they said then he said raising his sword in the air, “Take me to the castle! “

The villagers now had no choice but to lead him to the bubble surrounded castle. When they got there the Prince’s eyes filled with tenderness as the Princess leaned out the window her eyes filled with hopelessness that seemed to touch the Prince’s heart. When her wandering eyes finally found the villagers and the Prince, they suddenly filled up with hope. Hope that told the Prince’s big heart that he needed to act right then.

So without hesitating he ran over to the bubble on his white horse with a look that said I am going to rescue the Princess with one STAB of my sharp sword. When the sword stabbed the huge bubble it popped!

Then the Princess ran down the stairs and out the door and flew right into Prince Jason’s arms which were opened for a thank you with a hug and her hug was found out by the Prince to be a nice and warm hug.

The Prince asked the Princess “Do you want to marry me? “

The Princess answered “ Yes I do .”

The Prince’s eyes filled with tears after she said” yes”. So the next day they were married. The wedding was so beautiful, and they invited all of their friends and family to come to their wedding party. After they married the Prince and the Princess lived happily in their beautiful castle that was their home and they only fought one time before they died a happy death together in bed while they were sleeping together in each others arms.

The End

I love it!

Haha, that's adorable. Look what Al has inspired! Honestly, I'm quite impressed with her writing; if I dug up something I wrote when I was seven I can't say I'd enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed reading that little ditty. If you would thank her very much for her contribution and tell her we are looking forward to when she can join our ranks Ol' Dragonblood would be much obliged!

Funny side note: My first, ever DnD character was a Paladin named Jason.

hey!

How did your daughter get into my notes!!!!!?????

Lovely story. Glad to see you encourage her to write. I started Veronica on this very module when she was eight years old and she has become both a great player and a excellent writer too.
