Alright boys and girls...
I have decided to leave the combat training bit as it is. However, we have noted the players concerns over how it went and will strive to improve this on the next go around.
In the light of the game, and really all gaming here, I feel it is best to let it stand and simply move forward. Getting too tied up on particular rules and instances of something not going the way we would like clogs up a game and often destroys it more than it helps. Noting your concerns is certianly acceptable, encouraged in fact, but now it is time to move on.
I would like to take a brief pause, however... and thank you all for still respecting each other in your posts about this. That helps to build an environment here at the Inn where we all feel comfortable and want to continue to play.
So... give yourselves a pat on the back for that...
Now... continuing on!
You will notice that I've posted a
very short post for everyone. (Except our newest student, and just hold on I'll get to you in a minute dear
)
This week I would like you all to work on a dream sequence. Take your character from the field to dinner or straight to their room as you see fit, have them contemplate the day and then I would like them to all go to sleep and dream something.
I rather enjoy doing dream sequences myself and I think that this exercise will provide you with some interesting feedback into your own character. One of the delightful aspects of playing here compared to a tabletop is the ability to really delve into your character, to focus on the Role Play aspect instead of just the combat scenes.
For style... please put the dream part of your post in italics and bracketed by the special characters below.

She watched the candle flicker and did not even realize that she had fallen asleep.
~*~
The candle must have been doused, she thought to herself. Perhaps by the water. She could hear the water, hear it dripping but in the darkness she could not determine from where it came. Blindly she reached out with her hands trying to find her way...
~*~
With a loud crash she fell to the floor.
