Can we take an eagle instead?

I'm tired of walking. Are we there yet? Mae'rel keeps touching my side of the party order!

With apologies to Justin and Olan

S is going to make a hard run at Sendria via Felarin, for obvious reasons from her perspective

but first, real life work is making an eager attempt at murdering me, so it'll be late tonight or tomorrow

logistics

Just to be clear, going to Sendria via Felarin would require a pretty significant diversion to the south.

One observation - the north route, i.e. through the Khordal Mountains, would take you mostly due west from your current location.  Not a straigth shot to Sendria, but closer than a southern detour.

Y'all go wherever you want to go.  Just giving the options.

magical knowledge

Our mage would be familiar with with kormaguli.  These are a series of ancient magical rings that store and amplify spell energies.  They are highly prized and exceedingly rare.

The liunelini are legendary sapphires.  They are huge and exceptionally valuable.

The term her’i’coia translates to "having power over life".

Wha-huh???

@Alan - "S is going to make a hard run at Sendria via Felarin..."

Like, by herself?  That's too bad... Dak was starting to like her!

@Olan - "Our mage would be familiar with with kormaguli.  These are a series of ancient magical rings that store and amplify spell energies.  They are highly prized and exceedingly rare.

Get in my pocketses!!!

patrol routes

I'll point out that Dak is adept at moving around and gathering information.  But also, there may be no need for skullduggery - bladesingers are viewed not only as individual warriors, but as emissaries and leaders.  A bladesinger would be welcomed in any sylvari military installation and be treated with respect and deference.

Arathea might not have the authority to, say, requistition troops without Imperial orders, but she would be well within her rights to ask for intel on how things operated.  I.e. the soldiers would likely freely share things like patrol routes and such.

What about Khord patrol routes? Would the soldiers have any information/insight they would be able to share in that regard? Dak's all for a good sneaky-sneak, of course, but if we could get an idea of what/where to avoid in our passage through the mountains that would be nice.

Sorry for how short my last post was  I was just responding to Rain.

Yeah I think I can just directly ask for Intel on the troop movements and such! No need to make things complicated.

absolutely

Unless there was some "need to know" clearance around such intel, the soldiers would almost certainly freely provide that type of intel on the Khords to Arathea.

Bladesingers are often given missions to move around - and out of - the empire.  Sharing info to make a bladesinger's mission successful would be an expected duty.  No one would think twice about it.

Google maps

@Olan I was going off swag mapping the distance from various maps on the site, so just to make sure I'm properly calibrated, I understand that the most direct route is basically southwest into sendria, the western route into the khordal mountains is a little longer but maybe safer, and the southern route to ertrain/felarin is longer still and may subject the party to the most guarded border of the 3 options. Could you give a sense for how much additional expected travel time to felarin, accounting for any roads that might be faster than wilderness routes? S would have made the trip from Alloryen to Felarin before, so I feel like this is something she would probably have a decent sense for

Random Eol thoughts

1) Poor tortured Ruadhri! Somebody fetch me a ladder so I can climb up and give him a hug!

2) I was playing with my grandson this afternoon and, in one of those "good gods, buddy, you're getting so big" moments, decided to measure him. Turns out he's almost exactly as tall as Dak (though not quite as heavy) and now I can't help but picture him in the role.
