Yet another thing i can't spoil. Doc Manhattan surrounded by many Rorschach's, i don't see a good ending to this.

free your mind
Watch the movie without worrying about the book or the changes. Enjoy it for what it is and work from there.

It's good
It's good. I'm not disappointed. I enjoyed it a lot.
The ending change isn't much. Still good.
My man with the mask is still awesome.

my review
The film is excellent. It is very intense, very graphical violent and it doesn't hold back on making the audience think about the message of the film. I would say that a lot of the bad reviews you see are because of this high moral and intellectual challenge. If you go expecting a comic book popcorn movie - you'll be disappointed. Very dark - makes Dark Knight look like Singing in the Rain.
The actor who plays Rorschach is fantastic - gets the character spot on from the book. Same with Nite Owl and to a lasser extent, Dr. Manhattan. I loved how they did the history of the earlier heroes through the credits. Good soundtrack as well.
It is faithful to the book up to the ending. However, I thought this ending was better than the books, which always seemed contrived to me.
Complaints? - it was rushed at the end. They could have added more but the film was close to three hours already.
Highly recommended but DO NOT take the kids.

Agreed
Warning: Anyone who spoils the plot in this thread will have their post deleted.
Anyway, I completely agree with what Alacrity said, up the point about this being a better ending. It's a better movie ending albeit, but I'd still favour the graphic novel's end. I never felt itwas rushed, but I have to admit the only point I stick on was Matthew Goode in his role. He felt a bit off during the one scene where he is explaining his backstory because it seemed a little meta, but it's still ok.
The most enjoyable thing was the little easter eggs for people who know their Watchmen. There's some subtle things you otherwise wouldn't catch but just make it a more enjoyable for someone who has read the novel.
Also, Rorschach rocks my socks. Jackie Earle Haley did exactly what I always thought he'd be like.
Have to say Jeffrey Dean Morgan was equally awesome throughout.
P.S. RPJ, watch the movie, then read the book, then watch the movie again. Assuming you didn't absolutely hate it the first time through, it will be well worth it.

movie
I finally got around to seeing it. Loved it. I agree that the little change in the end was for the better. When people started talking about changing the ending - I got worried. So many big things that could have been changed. Good to know it's relatively minor.
The ending seemed more modernized to me, which you'll understand after experiencing them. What was a bigger deal in the 80's isn't really as relevant today.
MY review:
I loved Adrian. His quirky accent was spot-on. Dan was enough of a loser without being too much of one. Silk Spectre was great - both of them. I never really liked Rorschach, but the actor did him justice. The good doctor on the other hand was just far too awkward for my tastes. Maybe that was the point, but every single scene that involved him either made me want to wince, sigh or chuckle, and not just because of the nudity (or obviously purposeful lack thereof - if you're going to do it, do it; if you're not, don't) but also because of his strange mannerisms and waaaay overdone actions. Again though, this is probably intentional.
Over a strong A to A- and a definite DVD purchase. Aside from almost every scene involving Jon and the one *very* uncomfortable moment for a packed theater it was a well spent night.
