a little help?
Does anyone know of a site I could get some rulebooks for decent prices? I like the rules based, but I have no references whatsoever.

preferably
3.5, that's what I've seen the most.
the cores definitely, and maybe a forgotten realms setting.
Kara-tur sounds interesting, but I know I'd like Krynn is it's available.
I really hope that's what you meant.
OH! And WW looks cool.

well
I would always suggest the local book store - there are still lots of 3.5 stuff in circulation.
There's also always Ebay and Amazon.

BAM
I've looked in our local BAM. The only bookstore within a 50 mile radius, no joke. I was just hoping to find something a little less pricey. Recently got laid off and whatnot.

3.5e
3.5e is a revision (as it explains in each of the core rule books in a sub-section at the beginning: "Why a Revision?"). According to these blurbs there's actually a fair deal different, including extra feats, spells, and class abilities. Supposedly it's based on feedback from all over the place, so they decided to fix things without going straight up to a new version. Most things I find are 3.5e, not 3.0 compatible (at least most things I find XD), so I'd go with those, but I may just be biased that I have them.

thank you
Thank you everyone for the help.
I've been looking in, and now it is time to get a job so I can afford anything.
I want to play, but I figured it might be smart to hold off on the rules based until I get the reference books so I know what it is I am doing.
