Real-life Tressym?

This article is pretty interesting. A regular kitten was born in a Chinese province and started growing wing-shaped protrusions.

Could this be a useful mutation? What weird genetics would cause this? Maybe it's a Shadowrun-like resurgence of magical beasts in the world. Whatever it is, it's darn cute and I want one.

Discuss!

Can't say it's tasteful, but it made me laugh.

Interesting

A shallow joke, but an interesting article. I'd hope they do a follow up piece in the near fututre, I'd like a more concise scientific opinion about the matter.

I dunno...

This is pretty similar to something that was floating around the net a few years back, and it turned out to be nothing more than matted hair. Cool as it would be to think otherwsie, somehow I doubt this will turn out to be anything more interesting, really.
