She twists and twirls with bouncing curls
gracefully through the night.
One moment she's there, the next she's gone
dancing at the edge of sight.
The moon rides high and more join in.
A wild dance has begun.
They jump and flutter, flip and twirl
throughout their night of fun.
The sun rises, the dancers flee
fearing destruction from the light.
Yet always they lie waiting, hidden
for another moonlit night.
