Recommendations?
Just thought I'd throw out a general greeting to be polite. Since I'm new, and everyone seems friendly, I might as well just ask straight out if anyone would care to make a recommendation on what games are currently recruiting?
To be blunt, I'm a bit of a writer (writing a series of books) and I have RP experience online so although I haven't played via forums before I am confident it wont be hard to pick up. I also have some old school D&D table experience as I used to DM for more then a few years (but it was a few years back I will admit). To be honest the main reason I am interested in playing is that I've never gotten to actually play a game as an actual player. Rolled plenty of characters but I've never found another person willing to DM so in every group I've been a part of I ended up as permanent DM. Kind of comical bad luck right? DM in high school, no big deal! I can "reinvent myself" in college right? Nope! DM in college too! =P lol With all my old players living in different states now I kind of figured my chance to play as a PC was gone.. until I ran into the Inn =)
So any how, just thought I'd see if anyone can narrow down the recruitment list or give me an "insiders" view on which games to check out.. thank you in advance!

Do I have the honour?
Allow me to be the first (if I can make it in before Loki posts) of likely many to welcome you to the Inn (in their various and sundry... ah... manners of doing so).
First hint for looking for a game to play in is to spot the yellow dots in the Latest Updated Topics--recruitment threads. Beyond that, I know many DMs like to trawl through the comings and goings thread hoping to snap up an extra player for ongoing and ongoing game or to advertise a new one.
As it is, I don't know which games are recruiting at the moment, but I'm sure there will be someone who does who'll come along soon enough and point you (or kidnap you) in the right direction.

Welcome Dreen!
Sibelius has the best advice, though I'm sure we'll get a few DM's posting here to find out what editions you play, what classes, etc.
You may want to look up Almerin - he's got a game running and may be looking for some players to tound out the regular posters.

Trilogy War
Might want to take a look at Trilogy War. Been running for over a year now. Several of us enjoy the RP and writing aspect. I think there might be an opening so just PM the DM.
Oh yeah, welcome to the Inn. First round is on me. :-)

well
Welcome, Dreen.
If you're looking for a game, you can check the recruitment area at all times, and with a little nosing around, you'll find which games are still looking, and which one are already filled.
I am looking for players, but not for the regular DnD game I'm running. I just started a freeform zombie-game within the world of Robin Hood. Freeform is roleplaying without rules. So you can be exactly that character that you've always wanted to be. Only, in my zombie game, you'll have to be a person that would fit within the legend of Robin Hood... with zombies.
Otherwise, I believe Tek is still looking for players in a 3rd edition dnd game. And Trilogy, as stated, might be looking as well.
Good luck!

welcome
Let me also welcome you to our wonderful little nut house, I hope you have a towel handy, and no that isn't a Douglas Adams reference. You'll understand soon enough, trust me.
But as many others have already said, check the recruitment threads, there is usually a game looking for players.

Welcome to the Inn!
I am considering - probably won't happen but I'm thinking about it - running a D&D game again.
Other than that, I'd say, go troll the recruitment forum and see what's out there.

Sheesh!
I don't look at the forums for 12 whole hours and I get beat in a welcome by half a dozen people!
Oh well. Welcome to the Inn, of course. I am something of a writer too, so I know where you're coming from. I may be looking for a player in my original Realms of Twilight campaign... but I have to introduce the other character that has joined before I make the final decision.
Other than that, I will take a moment to mention my publishing company Silver Crescent Publishing and my Realms of Twilight Campaign Setting book coming out at the end of the month, and then bid you a fond adieu.
Enjoy your time here. Thus far it's been a trip for me.

Welcome!
Hope you find something interesting. Things are a little slow for summer but there is a solid core group here at the Inn that seem to keep things humming along. As for a game, we have lost our DM for The Rolling Darkness a D&D 4.0 edition game, but one of our players is planning to take over the game. We have openings for a Paladin, a Fighter and Cleric. We just started so it will be easy to jump in. Also we are very open to newbies to PBP and will be very flexible. Read the Recruitment thread, the Q&A thread and the Game. QuestorSilvanthus is planning to DM so sent him a PM. He's out of town until Sunday but may be able to check his PM.
So welcome and have fun.
Well we have two openings, Pit F(r)iend just claimed the Paladin. Oh BTW, these character were NPC's to round out the party, usually you get to choose what ever class you would like. But you do get to pick race and skills.

Did ya think I forgot?
Y'know... there's something very satisfying about making 'em wait for it sometimes.
Looks like everyone else has got the basics covered for ya, Dreen, so, I guess all I've got is my "standard welcome" and an available PM inbox if'n ya need anything else.
Welcome aboard, mate!
